- Hellahulla, on 06/02/2009, -0/+13Pah, men's health needs to grow a pair. I take a sauna with my bottle of Jallu every week. Not killed me yet.
Pussies! - ausfahrt, on 06/02/2009, -0/+12Not quite sure but i know an 80 year old man who has saunaed multiple times a week for most of his life and he is one of the healthiest and toughest SOBs i know. I redid a roof with him when he was 75 and the man lugged a roll of tar paper over his shoulder up a 15 foot ladder refusing all help.
- DeadlyAlpaca, on 06/02/2009, -0/+11I think you're going to the wrong saunas.
- hakkola, on 06/02/2009, -1/+10As a Finn I have to say, always Sauna with booze, make sure to jump in a lake if available, and try cooking some good sausage on the rocks.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+9Lost alot of weight recently? Got some stretch marks? Saunas do help. That and some cocoa butter vitamin E lotion.
- yhan, on 06/02/2009, -0/+8Kyllä!
- pikala, on 06/02/2009, -0/+7Just don't pee on the stones.
- zhulik83, on 06/02/2009, -1/+7As a Russian, I agree.... sauna is alot more fun if you're wasted, got a pool or lake near by and you do skinny dipping with girls:)
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+6FTA - "Never booze before (or while) you bathe in sweat, advises Lori J. Heim, M.D. 'For [inebriated] people who stay in there too long, dehydration is a good possibility,' she says."
It's hard to justify coupling an statement like 'never' with qualifiers like 'too long' and 'good possibility' - she's basicly saying that stupid people can get dehydrated, not that drinking necessarily has anything to do with it. - FirstOne1, on 06/02/2009, -0/+6an a non-finn, i agree. took a cruise from helsinki to stockholm and all we did was get crazy wasted in a suana and yes, cooked many gourmet sausages.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+6doesn't sound like it to me...
- njunderground, on 06/02/2009, -2/+7Nothing like a good shvitz
- Hellahulla, on 06/02/2009, -0/+5Perkele!
- Epik, on 06/02/2009, -1/+6what kind of idiot associates saunas and steam rooms with danger
- gilgamesh23, on 06/02/2009, -1/+6Having a sauna without a cold beer?!?! You're doing it wrong!
- strupatn, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4What do they mean by "mercury rising outside"? Are they suggesting that we should reconsider sauna use because the planet's average temperature went up three quarters of a degree?
- Lazydriver, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3Jumalauta!
Hey, I can use kirosanas too! - mofw, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3In the bedroom, etc.
- maz2331, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Hot tubs?
- damnshoes, on 06/02/2009, -1/+3what a SOB
- ever, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Dugg for Jallu.
- whiledo, on 06/03/2009, -2/+4My grandfather is in his 70s and still roofing houses and he's never stepped inside a sauna in his life. So, hey, looks like both have useless anecdotes.
- maz2331, on 06/03/2009, -1/+3You need to live a little.
- lyssword, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Wow their website programmers suck, their menu pulldowns are blocked by the horizontal ad below it.
- dancantone, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Yeah but can that ol' SOB still tote a roll of tar paper up a *****' ladder??
HUH? HUUUH?? lol - whiledo, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1Nope, the anecdote illustrates NOTHING. Just like the anecdote about the 100 year old smoker or the guy whose parachute failed and still survived illustrates nothing other than people's lack of fundamental understanding of statistics.
- zigardne, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1there's nothing like breathing in your own piss.
- whiledo, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1No, stupid, they're talking about all the extra mercury being emitted by coal plants.
It's much safer inside the sauna because the mercury gets wet and fails to the floor so you don't breathe it in.
DUH - iiiears, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1 I am not a doctor but avoiding public saunas if you have a cold or an immune defficiency is probably a very good idea.
Bacteria love warm moist places saunas and your lungs are both warm and moist.
- pikala, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1I've tried straight sex in sauna couple of times... doesn't work for me.
- ItsTheSun, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1here here
- whiledo, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1Probably. Did I mention he also has tons of asbestos lodged in his lungs, too? He just walked it off.
- inactive, on 06/03/2009, -1/+2As a finnish I'm having hard time taking this seriously. We've used go to sauna every week (at least once), often get drunk but we still have babies and live healty lives.
- Hellahulla, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1NO, voi vittu!
- sgvprelude, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2Have you ever tried the sauna with a group of beautiful naked women? Neither have I.
- maz2331, on 06/03/2009, -1/+1That which has zero risk is zero fun.
- ausfahrt, on 06/03/2009, -1/+1Cool but I think the anecdote illustrates that there may be NO dangers after all.
- whiledo, on 06/03/2009, -2/+1No, but I did FIND some. Is it yours? Don't worry, I've been holding onto it for you.
- HurricaneDC, on 06/02/2009, -2/+1Too much drink tends to make you do stupid things though.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -8/+2Without saunas where will gay sex and some straight sex take place?
