- torifile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This is the most blatant attempt at spamming I've ever seen. All those "great article" commenters are new. Pretty sick. Buried as spam.
- VincentIII, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9I killed myself and reading this from heaven. Wish I had it sooner! Thanks internets!
- RadiantBeing, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Semantic arguments rarely add anything of value to a discussion. Yours is no exception.
- Rfriaz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Congratulations: you're one of three comments with a positive digg count D=

- h00ligan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1what exactly is the point of this...
don't burden other's with it (write a blog with your story instead).
As someone who battles depression this article is pointless (as is psychiatric care for depression), You either find a way to continue through it, finding some pleasure, some times, or you don't. - ristvin, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6This is a great blog on depression. It hits the mark on depression, its symptoms, and the suicidal feelings surrounding it. Finally, someones has expressed the way I feel at times.
- _Caboose_, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5You'd think that the spammers would've learned by now. Nope...
- 1InMany, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0so what do i do? read the article or ingest marijuana or spend some time in the sun? or a combo of all 3?
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -3/+1CURE FOR DEPRESSION: Ingest Marijuana. Seriously.
- 1InMany, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0wow ... lotsa depressed people here it seems - how depressing..
- leffunov, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Wow apparently diggers are not only leftwinged but also completely intolerant of the depressed and people suffering from mental illness. When are people going to realize that if they are not depressed it has more to due with luck than their own actions? Stop being arrogant and understand that humanity like everything is controlled by aspects you can't control. Survival of the fittest is never true in today's world. Honesty no longer a virtue.
- spyd3rweb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1solution: get all drugged up on prozac and be an emotional zombie.
- 1InMany, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0u know whats worse and more depressing - so many people with negative digs in this thread :D ..
now that i'm depressed, maybe this article can help - Irimi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Find a good therapist, study A Course in Miracles, learn yoga, or ... just don't give up.
I wouldn't recommend meds, some people believe they just mask the underlying psychological problem using biological mechanisms.
Research has shown, however, that meds in combination with therapy is the most effective combination. So what do I know?
Read some Szasz, Foucault, the Bible, May...
:D - LACHRYMIST, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Make sure the rope is ABOVE the larnyx
- tstar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Well written article. For those suffering from depression, perhaps some time in the sun will help.
- AKBryant54, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2submitter is so banned....
- suegrant, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2This article is right on the money. I have a daughter suffering from Aspergers and at times it is trying for the complete family but with counseling and medication she is improving. The more articles like this that will highlight this very serious disease of depression can only be good for all concerned.
- incliner, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2What an eye opening article. I too have family with this cursed problem and it's a horrible experience for those living with the person as well as the person themselves. Thanks for shedding so much light on this subject.
- dustybin, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Good leading article on depression. Nice to see well written info rather than drug hazed rants or rambles
- eagertolearn, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Depression is an awful state to be in. To think and say such hurtful things and then the in the moments of clarity, realizing of what was done in moments of stupor.
The difficulty is getting help. Some advice on helping loved ones and friends would be appreciated. - Lacero, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1This is the most well-written, informative article I've read on the sensitive subject of depression. Thanks for the link, submitter jaynards!
- ddupont, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0This brought back some memories for me of someone I was living with 10yrs ago who was a sufferer.
There's an interesting line in this article: 'the actual experience certainly feels as if some other dark force has taken you over and stolen you from yourself'.
Hmm... I personally think that there is a definite link between depression and the spiritual, an aspect that mainstream treatment fails to recognise or treat. To fully deal with this problem, part of a treatment plan could include seeking out and discussing your experiences with an understanding Pastor in addition to doing so with your medical practitioner or psychologist. It helps to cover all bases in dealing with the issue. - haggisik, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Everyone gets depressed now and again. But when your depression hangs on for day after day you should do something about it. What should you do? This site tells you.
- espresso1, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Finally an article about depression that made sense!
- mark101, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2If someone realizes that they don't feel suicidal but infact feels horrible or hopeless or whatever, only then can they change their feeling( how do you change your feelings?lots of ways) . If you call it "suicidal feeling" the only solution is a magical pill to take the "suicidal feelings" away.
- diggmbqld, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Depression is the "silent" epidemic of our times, and the more publicity and discussion there is about it the more chance we have of enabling sufferers to have a good quality of life. This is an excellent article that works towards that end.
- tack65, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Great article! It makes complete sense. It is amazing how more common depression is in 2007 versus previous years. Life has become much more complicate. This article helps!
- lynnec, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Depression is indeed a serious and insidious problem! The article is great, and any useful and accurate information that can shine a light on this problem, will only serve to help dispel the darkness that envelopes such a large number of people! Good Job!
- stephengauss, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0That's a really good description of one of my aunts and her behavior every year around the holidays. I was so young then that I didn't understand what was going on but now that I can look back this article makes it crystal clear.
- davids79, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1This article was very informative. I'm sure it will help a lot of people.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Excellent article, especially if one has been part of a relationship that suffered badly due to this problem.
- Virtualted, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Great article - life's too short to not make earnest efforts to reducing depression. Good!
- jasper99, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Now it's all starting to make sense to me. I have been so depressed lately, but this article was very encouraging
- bplagoon, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1One of the most well written and informative pieces I have read on depression.
- ipdusa, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1This is a very clear and informative article on depression and its effects on loved ones. Thanks!
- pietervdgulik, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Well crafted articles that is helpful.
- JKronefield, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Fantastic article! Thanks for sharing.
- mark101, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5suicide is an action not a feeling. You can feel pain, horrible, despondant, hopeless etc. but you can't feel suicide anymore than you feel walk(ing) or feel run(ning).Suicide is something people do, not a feeling.
- marketplace101, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1This well written article will stimulate your thinking about the widespread challenges of depression.
