- X9001, on 12/04/2008, -2/+59It would hurt less if their names were not ironic
- jgregc, on 12/03/2008, -1/+33The surgery was an emergency by nature, if they had done nothing both girls would had died. As it is, one of the girls surviving is still great news. Let's hope she pulls through.
- SuperMonkeyKing, on 12/04/2008, -11/+37uh oh I'm an atheist
- gsgdiggs, on 12/03/2008, -1/+24Oh that is sad, I hope Faith will pull through. They are so tiny.
- Fragowell, on 12/04/2008, -4/+19In this time of apparent hopelessness, I hope the parents do not lose faith.
- metaliq, on 12/04/2008, -0/+15The title is drastically sad... on multiple levels.
- OtterStratton, on 12/03/2008, -0/+14Having read the previous article, this is a very depressing outcome. The title of the submission made it worse.
- rootsm3, on 12/04/2008, -0/+12My God, could these comments lack any more tact even if they tried?
- knightwalkerz, on 12/04/2008, -1/+11:(
-crosses fingers- - iPodAddict181, on 12/04/2008, -1/+11The irony in this title cannot be ignored. I hope Faith can pull through.
- MvP1292, on 12/04/2008, -0/+9that's usually how it works..
- Th0rus, on 12/04/2008, -2/+11I hope Faith pulls through.
- MasterGrief, on 12/04/2008, -0/+8This is the internet so god damnit I'm gonna get pissed off when someone I've never met makes an insensitive comment
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -6/+12Sucks to suck.
Maybe name your kids something normal next time so they won't die ironic deaths. - Einchy, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6Fail at trying to be deep.
- phenom2k7, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6They shared shared a liver, intestine and a major blood vessel. Surely there was no way both of them could of survived the surgery considering the circumstances. I'm guessing the doctor had to make the decision on which one they had to let go. Not on attempting to save both.
- qber, on 12/04/2008, -0/+650/50 means more than just "two outcomes." 30/70 is also two outcomes. So is 1/99.
- iPodAddict181, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6sometimes it just isnt funny...
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5Very sad for the family and my heart goes out to them
- kelchm, on 12/04/2008, -1/+6I don't think this word believe means what you think it means.
- MvP1292, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5I hate it when people put a ! after lol. It truly pisses me off. Sorry.
- skunkw0rks, on 12/04/2008, -1/+6Well I'm hoping she makes it... I can not believe what this is like for the parents...
- atlantocide, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5Ugh. Please leave.
- Opiebreath, on 12/04/2008, -1/+6I could never imagine having to lose a child, let alone maybe two.
I hope I never have to. - atlantocide, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5Geeze, you didn't even try, did you?
- RedSaber, on 12/04/2008, -6/+10"Their mother Laura, 18, from Shrewsbury, became the youngest mother of conjoined twins when she gave birth by Caesarean section at University College Hospital in London last Wednesday. She and her husband Aled, 28, refused to have the pregnancy terminated on moral grounds."
Wait... So he's 28, she's 18. They very likely had sex when she was a minor... which is not very moral if you ask me... She gets handicapped babies and she refuses to get an abortion because it's not moral? And now, one baby is dead and one might die or at least will live pretty ***** up... Is that supposed to be moral also?
Is she the cousin of Palin or what? They both sound pretty freaking retarded to me. - gnoble85, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4Oh, come on, really? Hope and Faith? Those are their names? Wow.
With that said, I hope for the parents' sake, Faith will pull through. I'm not a parent myself, but I've heard so many times there is no greater tragedy for parents than the loss of their own child. - hwy9nightkid, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3no it's a 0/0 shot
- kevin52094, on 12/04/2008, -1/+4way to be an insensitive piece of crap
- bloobloo, on 12/04/2008, -1/+4Age of consent (also for getting married with parents' permission) in the UK is 16.
- ohmysac, on 12/04/2008, -2/+5From the title I thought this would be an article at the onion.
- unitedatheism, on 12/04/2008, -3/+5Now, don't take me as a bad person, but when doctors told the mother to have an abortion, they meant that to save the unborn from more and more pain.
And then, to add insult to injury, the parents are so f-ing cynical that they've named their children with the ubermost ultracynical ironic names that are way over the line. Should we pity them? I say no. ***** no. We should pity the child of being born, but by no means the parents, they are selfish monsters!
Both children never met dignity in life by any means and will never meet, this is terribly sad. - Acharne, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2That's just mean.
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -1/+3Let's all pray to the magical bunny god for more carrots, too.
- AricC, on 12/04/2008, -1/+3pretty lame comment
- Chakat, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2You can live on half a liver and half your intestines. The artery can be handled by donor tissue or grafts from elsewhere on the body.
- peaceninja, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2anytime a patient isnt in stable condition and is facing death, 50/50 is a standard thing to say to set expectations that you just have to be prepared for the worst yet hope for the best.
- FreddieD, on 12/04/2008, -3/+5"Barack Obama will be a very poor president IMO, but this is not the time for that putrid comment."
That didnt stop ya from getting your own comment in, did it? - inactive, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2I know, it's just coincidental. But mildly entertaining.
- jmanfivek, on 12/04/2008, -2/+4Do conjoined twins share the same social security number?
- Fragowell, on 12/04/2008, -0/+21/10 for the concept.
0/10 for the execution.
Brevity is your friend. - Jeeprhyme, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Good. I hate that show.
- Collecto, on 12/04/2008, -2/+4My heart goes out to the parents and their lost offsprings.
- LongShlong, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1... ironically enough.
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1In some situations it IS as simple as "we'll just leave them how they are" - but often times that is not an acceptable solution as leaving them how they are may result in the death of both. Often times Siamese twins share internal organs such as heart and lungs - of which may only be capable of sustaining a single adult's load on the organ.
To quote the article: "They were joined at the abdomen, shared a liver, intestine and a major blood vessel. The shared intestine became blocked which was life threatening and meant it was necessary to carry out emergency surgery." - davewashere, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1Actually, they named them after Chuck Norris' left and right breasts
- Testiculese, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1I think you are being buried because people assume you don't understand what 50/50 means, because you had to ask.
- gkiltz, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1It's a sad commentary on our society that today, with conjoined twins, the medical world seem more comfortable killing them by trying to separate them than by letting them live as they are!!!
This reminds you just too much of what they did to "feeble minded" and "homosexuals" 50 years ago!
Where is our enlightenment here! - earlvanze, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1Title is just really sad.
- NorthMass, on 12/04/2008, -2/+3The point was that even someone like me who thinks he is going to be a very poor president doesn't think its the place to be talking about it. Notice how I said it was a "putrid" comment?
