- pradaaddict, on 04/01/2009, -0/+15This is nothing new. Caffeine is a stimulant and can help with exertion of force over short periods of time like any other stimulant. Caffeine is in pretty much every athletic supplement i've ever seen because it's one of the few things that actually work.
- 6shot, on 04/01/2009, -3/+17Am I the only one getting annoyed by those pop-up pictures?
- Darkkshadow449, on 04/01/2009, -5/+16Caffeine is a drug, make it illegal!
- Ratteler, on 04/01/2009, -0/+9I drink about 4 Gallons of coffee a day. Last week I got shot and didn't even know it.
- fallenstarinc, on 04/01/2009, -0/+6i've heard about "coffee" im thinking about trying it. this really sweet high school chick im after does it.
- IamNomad, on 04/01/2009, -1/+7Youde have thousands of IT guys checked into rehab clinics. The internets might stop spinning.
- booststrong, on 04/01/2009, -0/+5When I broke my leg I didn't even go to the hospital. I just limped over to Starbucks everyday and it healed itself in no time.
- Shenaniganz08, on 04/01/2009, -0/+5umm 5milligrams per kilogram that's like 1-2 No Doze Pills ( 200-400mg) that's a crap load of caffeine to take in one instant
What is probably is the sympathetic overload coming from the brain is blocking pain reception to reach the CNS from the periphery
This is nothing new, people who take caffeine have been shown to "mentally" feel less exerted, but every study has shown that it will not improve performance ( such as bench pressing), it only makes you feel like you are less tired ( it does not let you do more reps) - Toshibi, on 04/01/2009, -0/+4I'm digging stories just to see them!
- HoboMaster, on 04/01/2009, -1/+3For some reason, I read this as "Coffee Lessens the Pain of Existence," which is the only reason I opened it. That article would've been way more interesting.
- mkpaa, on 04/01/2009, -2/+4With 4 year experience of ultra-cycling I didn't need a scientific study about this. :)
- waxoff, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2Must have been Irish Coffee. Jameson's does the body good.
- EpilepticMoose, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2I find that caffeine really helps me with aerobic exercising, and not nearly as much with strength training.
- rexxhunt, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2ive only done super-cycling, but i too can attest that you dont need a scientific survey to tell me this. just look at any half decent cafe on a Sunday morning, full of Lycra clad cyclists
- AtWorkSurfer, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Even if it doesn't help you exercise better or longer, if it helps you feel better while exercising, it might make you more likely to actually exercise.
- rignopolis, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1This study brought to you by Juan Valdez
- vzhivkov, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1what pop-up pictures?

- jamspt, on 04/01/2009, -1/+2That's BS, you would've ***** yourself at mile 8.
- eelwrolyat, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Maybe that explains why I ran that half-marathon without stopping because I drank about 3 16oz cups during breakfast.
- Yage2006, on 04/01/2009, -1/+2GHB works well also.
- donnytomas, on 04/01/2009, -1/+2...but not as good as smack.
- Mangaroo, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1I thought it was pretty much well known that it lowers heart rate upon exercise. It was in my lectures from 2 years ago (and they weren't exactly fresh lectures).
- bipolarruledout, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Not really a surprise since it affects dopamine.
- bslade, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Any blue collar man in America could tell you that.
- eelwrolyat, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1I did before the race.
- superman46n2, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1This is old news, bodybuilders have used caffeine forever.
I still say 'no pain, no gain' - Flopy, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1That might explain why I feel no pain whatsoever... I actually like being addicted to coffee.
- astutissimo, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1To me, coffee makes life bearable.
- GeauxLSU, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1It also makes me lighter before my morning run.
- emjaysea, on 04/01/2009, -0/+0The only exercise I got on smack was vomiting...
- ecooley2, on 07/17/2009, -0/+0Thank Goodness, because I hate going to the GYM, and coffee certainly isn't making me drop the pounds! I have to do it, might as well be pleasurable. RIGHT?
- emjaysea, on 04/01/2009, -0/+0"he speculated that it could reduce pain"
there's some hard and fast science for you... - mheyk, on 04/01/2009, -1/+1"Sex helps you loose weight" said Professor Ivana Fok Alat from Berkeley School of Medical Neurosociology.

- chiddler, on 04/01/2009, -1/+0I have read a study similar to this in my senior year in high school, 2.5 years ago.
Caffeine reduces post-exercise pain..
