- GregIsLegend, on 02/03/2009, -2/+31Has anyone noticed that every recent health related article on digg just states the obvious?
- rsbryswrrl, on 02/02/2009, -0/+26"women who "self-silence" during arguments with their spouses are four times more likely to die over a 10-year period than their peers who express themselves". Ha ha, I must not have gotten that gene LOL.
- inactive, on 02/03/2009, -1/+24especially true if your partner died from ebola, and you're a necrophiliac.
- Jeepy, on 02/03/2009, -2/+20Article headline can aptly be changed to "Why you should stay single". Being single after 30 is no longer looked at as a social disease and thankfully some people realize they're only purpose in life isn't to produce children.
- dannyboy3020, on 02/03/2009, -0/+10Science does not have many paradigm shifts and groundbreaking studies. Rather, it evolves slowly.
- BoneStamp, on 02/03/2009, -0/+8Time passing makes you age.
- ChileanGoD, on 02/03/2009, -1/+9As they will die and end with the genes that produce such behaviour.
- Rikkochet, on 02/03/2009, -0/+8Er, no, a spouse is someone you're legally married to.
- Birdoftruth, on 02/03/2009, -0/+7but It wouldn't be a stretch to say most people on this site are already making poor health decisions minus a partner.
- zaffir, on 02/03/2009, -0/+7Like syphilis?
- bjs3171, on 02/03/2009, -4/+10you mean people that are close to you personally, can have some sort of influence on how you live your life? no way.

- k3rfuffl3, on 02/03/2009, -0/+5Have a pre-nup handy... at least based on the article
- diskoh, on 02/03/2009, -2/+6I'm not sure "choice" of partner is the proper term. My "choice" would be an orgy with Bruce Lee and Beyonce.
- d03boy, on 02/03/2009, -0/+4Has anyone noticed that the majority of our population doesn't recognize the obvious when it's right in their faces?
- Murdats, on 02/03/2009, -1/+5being single also makes you age.
- thedarkrabbit, on 02/03/2009, -2/+6If that was the case, I doubt my fiancé would have agreed to marry an alcoholic, smoker with PTSD... but hey.. who am I to question.
- inactive, on 02/03/2009, -3/+6Yeah, catching herpes doesn't help with the whole "healthy" thing.
- SarahC, on 02/03/2009, -0/+3Only if they're still warm.
Let em cool for a day or two for the virus to die, and then they're good to go! - ryrocker, on 02/03/2009, -0/+3psychology, the science of common sense.
- inactive, on 02/03/2009, -0/+3"...spouse-partners can decide whether you'll live or die..."
Especially if you can get them to eat the mushrooms. - victimofkratina, on 02/03/2009, -0/+3.
- abrasion, on 02/03/2009, -0/+2I'm dealing with this right now, it's really hard to shake the ***** society, movies, tv, radio, newspapers have taught me, that I'm 'worthless' unless I have a AAA job with 2.5 kids, 2 cars a mortguage and a wife.
It's hard work, I tell you. - Swivelstick, on 02/04/2009, -1/+2Especially when it comes to individual rights vs corporate/government.

- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1I don't think people who have crack whores for girlfriends go to the doctor very often, they usually don't have health insurance, because if you're dating a crack whore, then you're probably on the lower end of the SES spectrum and don't have a job that offers health benefits or enough money for private.....maybe a walk in clinic
- tientruong, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1What's "self-silence"?
- inactive, on 02/03/2009, -1/+2I thought it said "VOICE of Romantic partner determines how healthy..... and im like ooo interesting... then... then i read title and saw nothing interesting
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1I think I would join your orgy if given the chance......I've always been curious about how Bruce Lee was in bed, though not so much about Beyonce, if we could trade her perhaps for Angelina Jolie or Megan Fox?
- raf12345, on 02/03/2009, -2/+3"Everyone who's in a relationship should be aware that they're making some physically relevant decisions based on their partner's influence," . Our doctors should be noting it too. "They'll ask about your family history, but not about your spouse," . As a result, they might end up missing obvious risk factors for disease.
- spookyttws, on 02/03/2009, -5/+6Mmmmm... Romantic Panther
- SarahC, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1Doc:
I haven't a clue how you've got this cheesy green discharge. Your familly history is fine, you exercise, eat healthily, don't sleep around, I'm stuck!

My partners a crack hore, doing cheap tricks! She can't afford no condoms. I wonder if she's anything to do with it? - Sarkos, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1Am I the only one who saw the headline and thought the article was about Fable 2?
- Swivelstick, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1Venus Williams perhap?
- Swivelstick, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1Female to male transmission is relatively rare in comparison to male to female unless ya like ya ***** to bleed that is.
- Xeth, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1Wha? Getting STDs from your spouse-partner is unhealthy?!
- doctor05, on 08/01/2009, -0/+1It's nice to think we have a completely free choice of partner. The truth is that we unconsciously pick someone to work out stuff with from our past - OR we pick someone who has traits that we aren't comfortable with. We kind of get it second hand from them, so we don't have to feel bad. They become our proxy. The trouble with that is we keep our own stuff buried and that makes us sick. It never ceases to amaze me how much a partner stands in for someone else in your family that you need to act out with, get approval from or fight with to feel your independence. That's why relationships fail if one person grows out of the need to do any of the above as it throws the dynamic of the relationship off kilter. Once you have outgrown all this stuff, own your own stuff and feel okay about it, then you can make a real honest to goodness choice!
- FatLoser, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1...
You had me up until Beyonce - inactive, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1Oh god this was depressing.....I'm ***** :( I mean I love my fiancee, very sweet, patient, compassionate man...but he is not the healthiest at anything and loves junk food and a lot of meat.....I try not to let it rub off on me, but sometimes thats hard when you've been working all day and he comes home with some tacos from Taco Bell...but at least we're happy right? I think I'd rather die a little earlier with someone I'm happy with then someone I wasn't.
- MonkeyNacho, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1OMG. I'm gonna die. I'm not good at yelling.
- monica1357, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1live it up!
and you never know.. maybe your habits will rub off on him instead! ;) - Swivelstick, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1But doesn't explain how you fail to understand the use of sarcastic humor :)
- SarahC, on 02/03/2009, -1/+1Her name was hank - and she was in the same unit as you in the war.
It explains everything! - Phazoni, on 02/03/2009, -1/+1Thumbs down for stating the obvious.
- LoKey77, on 02/03/2009, -3/+3buried for submitting pointless article... diggers don't have romantic partners.
- getagirl, on 11/08/2009, -0/+0Not everyone has common sense you know. http://www.healthandhappiness.devhub.com
- Grolsch, on 02/03/2009, -1/+1No *****
- afx1, on 02/03/2009, -3/+2"spouse-partners can decide whether you'll live or die"
that's a first - inactive, on 02/03/2009, -3/+2Sure, unless she's a bitchy vegetarian who's always on your ass about what you eat, your friends, the way you leave your socks on the floor, et al - then you'll probably die of an ulcer and you won't be able to stop ***** from all the veg.
Give me a fat, chainsmoking, meat eating, lazy woman any day. -
