- TheYellowMole, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22This just in, scientists have developed a low calorie drug that makes your stomach feel full. They call it a "vegetable".
- geodescent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Remember that gum that came with card packs? I've chewed cardboard that was softer.
- eosp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Or you could just get the "Fruit Stripe" Zebra Gum...it's hard enough to burn some calories.
- lotuseater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Just not eating isn't such a good way to become healthy.
- venom8599, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Using it to cut back on eating when you're not really hungry would help though. It would still require some conscious effort and willpower, but you could chew a piece of gum that curbs your appetite instead of having to go on willpower alone. Of course, it will probably end up being abused by those suffering from anorexia, so it'll probably be available by prescription only to make it harder (but still not impossible of course) for people to abuse it.
- friend18, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Or you could just chew on some coca leaves.
- mpdickso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5nicotine does the same thing....nicorette anyone?
- noxdineen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5How about tackling obesity by NOT putting stuff in our mouths?
- koontzorama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Or, get off your fat ass and move. Your choice...
- unknownsoldierX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Is that available in a shake or smoothie? Or one of those diet bars? Where can I get it?
- MetalUnderShock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Sugar Free of course.
- tw0k1ngs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I believe they have already found a cure for obsesity... It's called willpower.
- gregdlewis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I didn't know chewing gum had a weight problem
- VeyronSengh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This makes me think about the three-course meal gum from Willy Wonka.
- Z_Man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3dont be a "jerk" and give us comment spam...
- ggarenn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@ dointhedigg
i clicked on that link cause i thought it was gonna be helpful/informative. it was neither you son of a bitch. - thesixthdesign, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Doesn't that kind of make you like, anorexic?
- awhiteflame, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Eating any gum suppresses appetite, without any appetite-suppressing chemicals. People who are anorexic often use gum to help cravings.
- hackwrench, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In other news, the chewing gum industry was trading down on the British market.
- Tingler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I’m sorry, but Rush Limbaugh cannot stop talking long enough to chew gum.
- azurechaos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1cool and maybe it can have phenylalanine and millions of other ingredients that we're not even sure what they do to our bodies and we can call it sugar-free!! w00!
- dubcanada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It also kills your digestive system by introducing acids when you arn't actually eating food causing Stomach Ulcers and Cancers..
Lose weight, or get cancer.. Hrm.. - Ductapemaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1From what you said, chewing gum *doesn't* make people shut up...
- Four20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the small bazooka gum pieces were a little softer than the baseball card gum,
- Dropscience, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Or..you could just pick up smoking and dipping...
- azurechaos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you forgot the whole what they are eating part too.
- ovrclckrxp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i wonder if they will have them in suppositories....
- jesterselv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Constant chewing of any substance, (over a few years) will slowly wear down your teeth if the gum has sugar these people will get massive cavities. In high school I used to chew gum a lot, unfortunately it was gum w/ sugar so I got a ton of cavities before my dentist warned me. Since then, I hardly ever chew gum anymore and if I do its sugar free, I havent had a cavity in over 10 years now. I hope the makers of the gum will still be in business when the customers get massive dentist bills and try to sue them for not putting a warning on the label.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Fat people don't get fat because they are hungry. Fat people get fat because they eat when they aren't hungry. Constant snacking, eating after being full and lack of exercise are what is making the world fat.
- cosmicr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3..but will it blend?
sorry. digg me down. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3how about eat less crap, and get a bit of exercise?
- Z_Man, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Does it taste like cheeseburgers?
- Scopitone, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Haha "obesity epidemic" indeed. Let us all combat the irresistible call of sugar and butter with this new magic gum. Exercise and restraint are for fools!
... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Great news for Rush Limbaugh.
- willhb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Chewing gum is great for bad breath, maybe to get kids to shut-up, but other than that I think it is useless.
I despise idiots who habitually chew gum EVERYWERE. Especially stupid teenage girls who chew gum and talk at the same time. It isn't subtle either, they just are there *chew chew chew CHEW* and then talk at the same time in a hindered sort of way as they have a large chunk of gum in their mouth. WTF. If this isn't enough, gum isn't healthy. What it is doing is tricking your body into thinking it is eating something... doesn't sound healthy.. probably because it isn't.
/rant - Z_Man, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1...idiot
