- Portagine, on 08/30/2008, -0/+31I don't get it. Why weren't we just linked to CalorieLab?
http://calorielab.com/index.html - perrym, on 08/30/2008, -0/+15*****! i didnt realize lifehacker was part of the gawker media blogspam empire.
buried as (yet more) blogspam.
direct link - http://calorielab.com/index.html - DeskFlyer, on 08/29/2008, -4/+14Here's my response to the parents of the starving children: "WTF. Stop *****. Just stop having so many damn kids."
- ieee, on 08/29/2008, -1/+9The smartest type I ever heard from a fitness expert was that if you can't avoid eating out and can't get calorie information is to ask that half of your food be brought to you wrapped up to go. If you are in a fast food place just discard half of your portion immediately.
I think this is excellent advice as many of the calorie counts I've looked up for restaurant food are easily at LEAST double to triple of what most people need in a meal. - Mothrog, on 08/30/2008, -0/+7Buried as blogspam.
- mohsenxp, on 08/30/2008, -3/+9Even if fat people stopped eating, international law wouldn't simply allow for your uneaten food to be shipped over to the starving countries.
- dkapuchino, on 08/30/2008, -0/+6There is more than enough food in to feed the world. People don't starve because of scarce food resources, they starve because the food simply doesn't reach them.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+6That's a terrible diet. How does malnutrition feel like?
- noth, on 08/30/2008, -0/+4That's a load of bull, fast food is more expensive per person, than eating normal healthy food from the grocery store. The only difference is that when you buy food from the store, you don't eat it all at once, you buy several things and make a few meals out of it.
It may be a higher up front cost, but in reality it's far less per meal. - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+4iPhone=buried
- inactive, on 08/29/2008, -1/+5Those are good burgers, Walter.
- RobotBuddha, on 08/30/2008, -0/+4It's a smart move. The funny thing is just how emotionally wrong it feels to throw away food. Intellectually I know that it's not going to be magically transferred to starving children, but somehow there's just this thought in the back of my head that it will.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+4Who are these fat people that are complaining and spending $60 on a meal? Go into a grocery store and buy all the "healthy" ingredients for a meal and then compare the cost of that to the cost of a fast food meal. That's why they complain about it being more expensive you moron.
- mohsenxp, on 08/30/2008, -1/+4Foreign aid is a different matter. Shipping surplus food to other countries is illegal.
Don't highlight your ignorance. Especially with such an arrogant manner. - mohsenxp, on 08/30/2008, -0/+3Last year I was on a pretty militant regime (for 4 months) to try and shed extra weight before a competition.
The hardest thing was avoiding going out to restaurants with my girlfriend. What I ended up doing was to eat before I left and just order a salad or something light at the restaurant.
There's no point in ordering something very fatty and just asking for half of it. - AndrewDB, on 08/30/2008, -1/+4Because it's lifehacker and they're like cracked.com and tell people the blatantly obvious with too many words.
- renski13, on 08/30/2008, -0/+2Interesting that a chicken caesar salad is easily 1000 calories
- nofate2029, on 08/30/2008, -2/+4double-double w/ grilled onions from In & Out > any other burger, ever
and i stand by this bold statement! - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+2That's not what I'm saying.
Catholics and jews tend to use guilt as a way to make their kids comply.
"I cooked all this food and you want to waste it when little kids in Africa would kill to have half of what you have"
"Food waste makes baby jesus cry"
It's cultural, not religious. - pardonmedoug, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2In-N-Out 500-by-500 Nutrition Facts

I don't know who started that *****, but HELLO! potatoes, beans, chicken, bananas, oats, carrots, in season fresh fruits, and vegatables, IQF fruits and vegies when they are out of season, are all very inexpensive foods.
I do a lot of smoothies in my house too. That's super easy and inexpensive. You can get the fruit in season for a good price, or one can get the 6 pound IQF bags of various frozen fruits that are available year round. They're all in the $1 per pound range give or take. - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+3If you eat fast food only now and then, it really isn't THAT bad for you regardless of the calories.
If you really like the stuff, eat healthy most of the time, and then splurge once or twice a week. It won't kill you. - Ibox, on 08/30/2008, -0/+2with that said I'm never eating @ HARDEE'S again... :( http://calorielab.com/restaurants/hardees/26
- clickwir, on 08/30/2008, -0/+2Damnit, link to the actual info! Not blog spam.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+2Obviously.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+2And in most modern famines the ugly hand of ideology is involved.
- smacksaw, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1Well if you hadn't involved cracked.com in your comparo I might have given you a Digg, but it's like comparing an evening with Jenna Jameson to dental surgery.
- Easyoffbam, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1Who the ***** cares about calories? Just do some sort of exercise each day (it doesn't have to be hard), drink about a bottle and a half of water a day, and eat filling foods like whole wheat bread and pasta.

- phyx726, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1good info, next time i go to mcdonalds I'll have the nuggets even though I have no idea whats in it.
- mattsilv, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1they actually have 570 calories.
http://www.chipotle.com/ChipotleNutrition.pdf - mikasaur, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1I've lived in Southern California all my life and constantly tout the superior burgers of In-N-Out. They are without doubt the best fast food burgers. Jules Winnfield had obviously never been to an In-N-Out before he tasted that Kahuna burger.
But if you can't custom make a better one for yourself, you need to log some more hours on the grill. - clickwir, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1No one is telling you how to eat. They are simply providing information that some people find useful. It's not a personal attack, take it easy.
- adeadwaffle, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1It has nothing to do with religion at all.
- ricepicker4000, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1You obviously have never been to in n out. Its an orgasmic experience

When it comes to losing weight, I did some casual working out, ate two meals a day of literally whatever tickled my fancy and lost 15 pounds in 3 months. Its portion control. - Typhoon2009, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1Christ, a bag of Chipotle chips is 490 calories? I mean ***** man, *****!
- 1smartguy, on 08/30/2008, -0/+0You've either never shopped for food before, or you're numerically challenged.
- Tanktunker, on 08/30/2008, -1/+1403 forbidden.
Is anyone else getting this on the actual site (not the lifehacker site)? - mikasaur, on 08/30/2008, -1/+1You mean it's > any other fast food burger.
But I'm sure you, personally, can make from scratch a better burger. Any self-respecting man could. - Ibox, on 08/30/2008, -1/+1no, us Fat people complain that healthy food tastes like *****...
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+1Were you raised catholic or jewish?
Because that'll do it for you. I'm the same. Atheist, but I still have that nagging little jewish mother in the back of my head. - AStjern, on 08/30/2008, -0/+0Sometimes you just gotta have the best tasting, worst for you, stuff you can find. The double-double qualifies qualifies.
- inactive, on 08/29/2008, -5/+5Fat people complain about how expensive it is to buy healthy food like vegetables and even organic food
Yet they're willing to blow $60 on a single meal for themselves and their family
A few different types of vegetables, some home made seasoning and a few different herbs could be turned into 5 small but separate meals which can easily last a few days. - djlmt1, on 08/29/2008, -2/+2Love the Double-Double! If you're really hungry ask for a 4x4.
- jessenoob, on 08/30/2008, -2/+1Well they gots to make a livin' somehow.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -3/+2Unless you're buying that ***** for a family, fast food is MUCH cheaper than going to the grocery store. Trying to buy healthy ingredients for a meal to feed one or two people ends up costing quite a bit more than any fast food meal.
- troyfoley, on 08/30/2008, -2/+1Someone hit a nerve.
