- bsonder, on 10/02/2008, -3/+272It got me through chemotherapy while I went through breast cancer treatment. I felt like myself, instead of a cancer patient. Hey, I am old but it makes me feel young.
- dha07030, on 10/02/2008, -7/+166I am high right now!
- TBombadil, on 10/02/2008, -2/+151My choice is what I choose to do,
And if I'm causing no harm, it shouldn't bother you.
Your choice is who you choose to be,
And if you're causin' no harm, then you're alright with me.
If you don't like my fire, then don't come around,
'cause I'm gonna burn one down.
Yes, I'm gonna burn one down. - paintgrl, on 10/02/2008, -9/+155Earrrrrrrrrr. I bet most of us knew that already.
- freezerburn666, on 10/02/2008, -2/+134in school the police told us 1 joint equals 5 cigarettes... so i smoked 5 cigarettes and i wasn't even ***** high wtf.
- TunaFishGangsta, on 10/02/2008, -2/+127I'd like to see the results of a poll about marijuana beliefs broken down by sex, age, demographic, etc. There has got to be one crowd that is totally ignorant.
- Mueritz, on 10/02/2008, -7/+121Take a deep breath.
- alapoet, on 10/02/2008, -13/+120Not only is marijuana relatively harmless; in many cases, and for many conditions, it is actually good for you.
- pygmy, on 10/02/2008, -3/+103just ***** TAX it already... everyone wins
- drez24, on 10/02/2008, -5/+100Research confirmed by Dr. Obvious.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -2/+91How about this for an idea,
why does the government need to tell me what I can and can't do when it harms no one. - spaceman84, on 10/02/2008, -5/+84"Authorities are concerned notably by the growing prevalence of the potent "skunk" form of the drug. Around 80 percent of cannabis seizures are of this strain, said to be linked to mental health problems, official figures show."
100% *****. - tuseau, on 10/02/2008, -7/+77It's not harmful at all. In fact, it's good for you - it's an age-old medicine.
It's illegal because pharmaceutical companies make more money if more people are ill and require ***** pills. - panicbombs, on 10/02/2008, -8/+77Old people hate Mary Jane.
- 5xSTUN, on 10/02/2008, -1/+60I'll tell you why.
Because when you're interested in smoking a material that has an industrial counterpart that threatens the businesses that your elected leaders count on for financial support, you can bet they'll all work together to make sure that material stays nice and banned.
If there were no such thing as industrial hemp, you'd probably be able to buy weed at the supermarket right now. - zantos420, on 10/02/2008, -1/+59vaporizer heats up thc to the exact temp it becomes active, which is not hot enough to create smoke. vaporizer is the healthiest way besides eating it.
- maximoo2, on 10/02/2008, -3/+56Could conceivably save the US economy.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -2/+49you don't have to smoke it, bro.
- nygenxer, on 10/02/2008, -3/+49Wow! Marijuana is less harmful than cigarettes and alcohol! Who knew?
Only the people that have used it for millenia. And doctors. And research scientists, psychologists, police chiefs, religous leaders, the parmaceutical industry, Richard Nixon, the insurance industry, the automotive industry, and anyone whose seen an alcohol-fueled berzerker rioting on TV when the local sports team loses/wins.
Oh and anyone who has looked at an actuary table. Cigarettes? Thousands of deaths a day. Alcohol? Thousands of deaths per year. Weed? NO deaths. EVER. Estimated lethal dosage of pot? Smoking 1200 pounds in about 158 minutes. (Um, wouldn't smoking 1200 pounds of anything in 15 minutes kill you?) - inactive, on 10/02/2008, -1/+47Correlation is not causation.
Do mentally ill people smoke weed? You best believe they do.
Do professional (and totally functional) business people smoke weed? You best believe they do. - NotedFuturist, on 10/02/2008, -0/+44Smoking cigarettes absolutely changes how people act.
A smoker 5 hours without a cigarette is not a fun person to be around. - RudeTurnip, on 10/02/2008, -5/+47Pedobear thinks of the children.
- dillpiccolol, on 10/02/2008, -7/+49Legalization unfortunately has been stalled by these ***** puritans who still think that for some reason marijuana remains this ethereal "gateway drug." And you know what has marginalized it into this position? The "war" on drugs and all this other *****. If it was incorporated into society as seamless as more potent drugs like alcohol and coffee (though more in the category of alcohol), then this "gateway drug" would no longer be a gateway to the underground culture that it currently fosters. Stop unfairly marginalizing those who may not buy into our alcoholism prone society.
I think The Streets did it best:

Edit: Changed to link so it didn't take up too much space. - CommonSense2k8, on 10/02/2008, -3/+44the youth has been brainwashed by a decade of deceitful ads. Not all are educated on the issue...
- ChromeWalnut, on 10/02/2008, -2/+41Humans also weren't meant to consume 2000 calories of fat-infused fast food in a day, or have sex without producing offspring, or sit in an office chair for 50 hours a week...
Point being, there are plenty of activities we do all the time that nature never intended (many of them harmful) purely for our own personal pleasure/progress. Now I'm not saying that marijuana inhalation is necessarily justified by this fact, because it's really not for everyone, but honestly, relative to some of the other things people do to themselves on a daily basis, marijuana is really not that bad. (Especially if you keep it in moderation or get a nice vaporizer to smoke with)
It's purely a personal choice, and it should be treated as such. - ChromeWalnut, on 10/02/2008, -4/+42..bags of doritos
- bushfocker, on 10/02/2008, -6/+43I could of told them that......I have been studying marijuana for 13 years.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -3/+39People digging down my statement care to explain why? To clarify, I DO support anyone's choice to smoke pot and believe that just BECAUSE something is natural doesn't mean it is inherently better.
- SifuMoKung, on 10/02/2008, -1/+35The tobacco industry along with the lumber industry conspired to make cannabis illegal. We should consider industrial hemp as it grows more rapidly than trees, is stronger and lasts longer. We need to stop allowing the DEA to seize cannabis from Native American tribes that grow it as a source of revenue when casinos are not the sought alternative. Industrial hemp will not get you high! It's a ***** policy that serves only to punish an already impoverished demographic.
- peestandingup, on 10/02/2008, -0/+33But but, Nancy Reagan told me I would certainly be sucking dick for marijuana in no time after that first puff & would surely be dead within a few days before I came down from my drug rampage.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -2/+35Let's be clear here - when you say conservatives, you mean social conservatives. Sorry, just wanted to make sure everyone's on the same page here. I really, REALLY hate how everyone in this country is lumped into one of two categories - either you're liberal or conservative, and people act as if anyone who falls into the same category feels the same way about everything.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -17/+50To be fair though, I think the whole argument that "but it is natural ergo it is good" is a stupid one.
Blowfish poison is natural too, but it will also kill you. The terms "natural" and "synthetic" don't necessarily correlate with the safety and/or effectiveness of a product. I hear a lot of friends who smoke pot and are "au natural" in most parts of their lives, but I think it is a false correlation. - jjmac, on 10/02/2008, -3/+35Less harmful to what, the user or the governments pocketbook?
- CommonSense2k8, on 10/02/2008, -11/+42Wont someone please, THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!
- Lith25, on 10/02/2008, -1/+32you dont have to smoke marijuana to get the effects.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -1/+31How about all the D.A.R.E. kids wearing their D.A.R.E. shirts while lighting up?
Yeah, that's good stuff. - Lith25, on 10/02/2008, -1/+30Actually I don't think it's the youth who is under the impression marijuana is bad for you. It's the 60+ crowd who grew up before the 70s and were brainwashed later on in the 80s and 90s to believe any drug is bad for you.
- LogicBomB, on 10/02/2008, -12/+41Conservatives.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+28I'd wager that there's about a 90% overlap between those who think pot is deadly and those who think the earth is 6000 years old.
- SiRWhxr, on 10/02/2008, -3/+30Legalize it, mkay.
- patrflav, on 10/02/2008, -4/+30and try not to cough
- etnoo, on 10/02/2008, -3/+29Okay, we have known this for a while now.
- Princeamor, on 10/02/2008, -10/+36They are so behind if now is when they know.....
- aparatoc, on 10/02/2008, -3/+29I accidentally cannabis.
- zantos420, on 10/02/2008, -2/+26willie nelson would disagree.
- getbusyliving, on 10/02/2008, -1/+25To the morons claiming vaporizers waste pot - I SAVE at least half of my stash by using a vaporizer. You can vape and re-vape a small portion until all of the THC is extracted. Get a ***** clue before you post.
- ATXChappy, on 10/02/2008, -0/+23It's estimated that the Federal Government alone spends $10 billion a year on cannabis prohibition. Decriminalization alone would pay for the $700 billion bailout in 70 years. We could probably do it in 10 years if we legalized and taxed it.
- HarChim, on 10/02/2008, -2/+24There are a lot of kids even my age (18-19) that think marijuana is bad. I try to tell them that it's safer than most other legal things, but they just ignore any facts I throw at them.
- OoO3xOoO, on 10/02/2008, -2/+24ok. pay attention now. less harmful != good for you (that is, less harmful does not mean good for you) it means....drum roll....
less harmful!
Sort of like stabbing yourself in the leg is less harmful than stabbing yourself in the eye.
But that's irrelevant. Nobody should be allowed to tell anyone what they can or can't put into their bodies. -
