arstechnica.com — California's Department of Public Health has joined New York State in sending cease-and-desist letters to a number of companies that offer direct-to-consumer genetic tests. Is this a sign that the burgeoning industry is about to be regulated?

  • Surferess, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2They probably need to regulate it, especially as we find out more about pre-disposition to disease that shows up in the DNA. There is definitely a potential for problems here. People could be discriminated against for their DNA make-up in the future.
