- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -1/+10Very informative article indeed. Wish this kinda information was around when
I was growing up. Could've saved myself and others a few trips to the hospital. - Jsmuli2, on 04/09/2009, -2/+7Eat easier by breathing right
- mishaco, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3this is rudimentary to anyone with food allergies .
and anyone with asthma already finds it hard to exercise . any asthmatic workout should also include exercise to strengthen debilitated lungs . - induren, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3Working out also helps! It's good for lots of stuff! Not all of us are like Lance Armstrong, so we can just take the stairs more regularly as a starter.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -1/+4Also, if you are allergic to ragweed, you should avoid eating cantaloupe and bananas as they contain the same family of ragweed pollen:

The more you know... - KnarkJesus, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2Hmm, I'm currently on a three month anti-allergy diet, but it's a lot stricter than that layed out in the article. Basically I can't eat any food containing simple carbs or yeast. I've been on the diet for about six weeks and my symptoms really have decreased a lot. So I can really recommend it to anyone suffering from allergies and asthma!
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -1/+3thanks for great info! some fact are not new to me, but nevertheless it's worth reading!
- T8erT0T, on 04/09/2009, -1/+3Don't !@#% with dairy.
- xsecretfiles, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2"Eat right when pregnant"
Well that's one thing I don't have to worry about *YES!!!! - cheeze_ballz, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1i knew about the cantaloupe, but hadn't heard that bananas had it. doesn't muskmelon have it too?
- zagatbuzz, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1Very interesting and helpful article!
- charlie6969, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1dugg for ANYTHING that helps my allergies!
- deema1, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1Did you have asthma or just allergies? My asthma is really bad and I'd love to find a more natural solution than taking a few inhalers each day.
- REEKOHTOWN, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1well that's logical.
- inactive, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1i know, your right but "Being overweight or obese is thought to boost the risk of asthma by 50 per cent. Studies have also shown that when individuals with asthma lose excess weight, their symptoms improve. Increased weight might lead to inflammation in the respiratory tract or cause the airways to be hyper responsive, a hallmark of asthma."
50% thats half. So half the people that are over wieght......nevermind - deema1, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1I KNEW IT! People were suspicious when I told them I knew I was allergic to cantaloupe and bananas. They didn't think it was possible. The ragweed link explains it!
- m0llusk, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1This isn't about eating less, it is about eating better. Industrially processed foods are problematic in many ways. Seed based foods and dairy are loaded with chemicals associated with immune distress in humans.
- Enterres, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1In my grade school we were taught lies about certain "food groups." In reality every meal should consist of Proteins, Carbs, and vitally important Enzymes.
Living food is the best anyways. Decadent food spawns bacteria in your intestine which causes addiction to the sugar and starch.
For proof you could try to dig up some old studies on what happened at hospitals when the patients were switched to an all raw vegan diet; essentially they healed quicker from a surprising number of maladies.
Unfortunately hospital food is some of the worst in the world because it's unionized. - ampdj89, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1I don't remember the last time I got sick, lots of people around me coughing and sneezing in which I don't understand how they get it at the beginning. One of the simplest habits to prevent the sickness from getting any stronger is to immediately attack it with natural stuff, and I'm also glad my mom fed me with healthy habits and a decent dose of Olive Oil at everything. Mother's food ftw.
- skintigh, on 04/09/2009, -2/+2This article should be called "Coincidence equals causality." No where do they quote any science showing a *change* in diet improves lung health, only that those who eat a diet consistent with an upper middle class person from an early age are healthier than those who eat a diet consistent with being in the working class.
All of their facts come down to "people who are well off (and their diet reflects that as it consists of expensive or pricier food) are healthier than poor people." Stop the ***** presses. - inactive, on 04/09/2009, -1/+1"Lose fat by eating less" "Run faster by eating less" ***** less by eating less" "Live longer by eating less" "Become lighter by eating less
- reelmkonol, on 04/09/2009, -1/+1i'm ron burgandy?
- dieboldcracy, on 04/09/2009, -1/+1that's all fine and dandy, but when the ***** respiratorily hits the fan, I'll go to my Albuterol
- inactive, on 04/12/2009, -1/+0that is very informative, it certainly does make a lot of sense.

- memper, on 04/09/2009, -2/+1"children delivered by c-section were 79 percent more likely to develop asthma "
Allergies and Asthma rising rates have already been correlated to rising c-section birth rates. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_ ...
So you can indict modern eating habits. You can judge and blame modern food distribution in our society for just about anything, like an idiot, basing your conclusion on a broad disdain for modern society, or you can point to real data of an actual shift in western medical practice.
I buried this because of the inference of causation, but there's nothing wrong with eating right to help improve your quality of life, no matter what your ailments and cause. - misry2005, on 04/09/2009, -1/+0very helpful article ,
eating well + workout = good health
thanks ...
