- ifnotme, on 07/17/2008, -0/+11If my boss let me nap... That would be a dream.
- Haoie, on 07/17/2008, -1/+1Only in your dreams, sadly.
- oneboy, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Hah, I see what you did there!
- Dailydose4me, on 07/17/2008, -0/+6Nice concept, heard that some MNCs do allow it as it boosts the creativity.
- mlwarrior, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4I work in academic research. It's easy for me to choose my own schedule. I prefer to work a 12 hour day at 75% efficiency. This equates to more work, because I'm getting about 8 hours of pure work time. It's low stress so I never feel exhausted and bogged down. At first my coworkers thought I was lazy, but when they saw how much I actually accomplish in a work day, they changed their minds. The best part is, when I'm done with my day, I never feel wiped-out.
Even in places with lots of time-sensitive tasks, I would encourage work like this. It might require some restructuring and clever scheduling, but the boost in moral, quality, and creativity would be well worth it.- RubineBoy, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4Admit it dude, you're lazy.
- ChristineKane, on 07/17/2008, -1/+1Great article. Cool ideas!

- dcmusicfusion, on 07/17/2008, -1/+1One of the better diggs I've seen in a while. Wow...well written and researched.
- gmalonzo, on 07/17/2008, -2/+1There is nothing a short nap can't fix. Well, maybe if followed by the words "...In jesus' name, Amen" especially when caught snoozing on your desk at work, :p
- TheMightyDane, on 07/17/2008, -1/+10I wouldn't dare to nap at my work.. Too many pranksters. I'd wake up with a fake mustache, urinsoaked pants, and a forklift up my ass.
- DickyT83, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4Sign me up.
- charm803, on 07/17/2008, -0/+7Mental picture duly noted.
- smashingmonkey, on 07/17/2008, -0/+6I'm horrible at napping. I wish I could do it, but it seems like my two modes are awake and coma.
- n8f8, on 07/17/2008, -2/+1Is Stephen King dead?
- chrisfu, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1My boss has always allowed us to nap at work, we can take 15 minute to 1 hour naps in the rec room, which is usually quiet enough to get some shut-eye. I'm one of the only people that actually take this up though... I guess not everyone is able to nap! I often find that the time away from the computer (I work as a web developer) helps my focus for when I return. I've definitely been more productive and happy in this job than any other I've had before it.
- ansatsu29, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Napping is really effective in replenishing your creative juices. Great writeup!
- Jenadae, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3I just woke up from my nap at work...
- Rudegar, on 07/17/2008, -1/+2i want "Boss Approved. bobbing for apples at work!"
- khanable, on 07/17/2008, -1/+1I was reemed out by my boss yesterday because I took a 5 minute shut eye session while waiting for a vendor to call back to help me solve a problem.
I'm printing this article as we speak. I'll staple it all over his office door. - kynamd, on 07/17/2008, -0/+0Great article with practical steps. Unfortunately for me, I clutch things when I fall asleep. I'm going to try the Tina's 'visualization session' to work on problems. I've always been a fan of napping at work or at school.
- iguanapunk, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3*drifts off*
- blur13, on 07/17/2008, -0/+0great article. people at work make fun of me because i take 20 mt. naps during lunch. i think of it as the equivalent of a computer purge, where i get rid of all the unnecessary ideas/distractions that are swirling in my head. I wake up with a clear/clean slate.
- JeffBuzz, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1I have used this technique for a long time and it really works. At first, I didn't even know it was a "technique". In college, I would just give up and go to bed! But then I would wake up and crank out my work. Later, when I learned why I was able to do that, I started using the technique more regularly.
- skyred, on 07/17/2008, -1/+0I have been using this technique since I was very young. I remember the first time I used this was when I was 13, and I was really into a computer game RED ALERT, and I wanted to be good. So, I was thinking about the strategies all day long and kept thinking it in my dream. The next day, I became the best player in the town.
- paragonwealth, on 07/17/2008, -1/+1Great article! We used to do this in my high school English class. We had a 10-15 minute nap several times a week. We all felt rested and ready to write our papers after that!
- Suprfire, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1"How to Tap Your Nap"
