Just more scare tactics, it's SARS all over again - yensed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I got 4 scarecrows in my yard armed with machine guns and shotguns. I'm not worried.
- Metman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Do not mess with Mother Nature.
How is this news. Anyone who knows even a little bit about CDE's knows that if you vaccinate against one strain of a virus you run the risk of fortifying any mutations. Did everyone sleep through Biology?
Question is whether it is worth the risk. - brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4and the Google Ads I see are all the proof that this is crap I need:

- cheez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2sounds like ultraviolet
- pirplepig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Just like all the anti-bacterial lotions, soaps and medicines are making super germs... We are setting ourselves up for several "super strains" which have the potential to wipe out millions if not billions of people.
- ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm sure the vaccinations will work as well as the Anthrax ones.
Remember how that turned out? - bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i know i did. but i still know that a vaccine is just a dormant version of the virus/bacteria hoping that your body will be able to kill the dormant thing off thus being able to kill off any live version of it off when infected again. no matter what the bacteria/virus is there is always the possibility of catching it from the vaccine. The reason we use vaccines is because the likely hood of getting the virus from the vaccine is so low compare to the consequences of the virus.
- Bloodwine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not to sound evil, but we are long overdue for some sort of mass culling event. Nature has a way of regulating populations if they become too large and unwieldy.
The only difference is now modern medicine can keep nature at bay, but only for so long ... our time is coming and it will be worse than if we just let it happen in the first place.
It is akin to putting your hand over your butt while being spanked. Sure it softens the blow, but makes your father that much more angrier. - andreas1999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1did people not know this?!? same goes for AIDS and any other virus.. but everybody already knows that, right? someone should tell bill gates he just wasted $500 million dollars for nothing, even if they do find a "cure"..
- cheesehead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If authorities were really interested in the health of our meat supply they would be addressing the inhumane conditions, overcrowding and the poor food which create the pietri dish for disease in the poultry industry instead of proping up the disgrace and pimping for the drug companies.
- alanspach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1maybe you'll get it then
- gothsquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yeah what they are talking about is a flaw in all vaccinations.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Except that we will then create an "anti-super-bacterial" lotion, soap, and medicine. Some people just assume that a new bug will come along and wipe us all out... Hasn't happened yet and we are at the stage now where we understand so much more about medicine than we did even 20 years ago, just imagine where we will be 20 years from now...
