OMG! GOGGLES THEY DO NOTHING!!! SHOOT IT! BURN IT WITH FIRE!!! MAN THE HARPOONS!" territory.
When a woman starves or diets herself down to a smaller size, her breasts (which are fat) shrink along with the rest of her... so she winds up with sagging, flatter boobies. Her face also starts to look thin, which makes her look older... if she goes out into the sun to get a nice "healthy" tan, that ages her further. She's told to wear make-up to make herself look nice, which ages and damages the skin (years of rubbing and plucking the eyes tends to damage the skin around them, and they wrinkle faster.)
Basically, in order to achieve the "standard" a woman winds up ruining her looks in the pursuit of enhancing them... which, of course, doctors are quite happy to offer surgery to fix all those little problems that arise from trying to do what makes all the magazines happy.
Women, of course, think that's what men want. Guys don't want neurotic women who are always asking, "does this make me look fat? Do you think she's prettier than me? No thanks I'll have the salad... with dressing on the side." Yet, what kind of women do guys chase after?
It's much like the women who whine about not being able to find a "nice guy" but always go after the losers. Guys whine about women being insane and looks-obsessed, but only date and chase after women who look a certain way that, let's be honest, is very hard to get unless you ARE obsessed.
Implants are just another way for women to "have it all." They can be skinny and have full breasts. They can be skinny and have a full rear end too, with butt-implants. They can have their fat sucked out, their lower ribs removed, their feet carved down to fit into smaller shoes, their faces slivered and moved around, all in an effort to make other people happy. Guys who would never have looked twice suddenly flock towards them.
No one does that stuff for themselves, unless they were in some horrible accident. Women do that crap so that they can be seen as "worth while" which, for women, means looking a certain way. No one cares about your brains, your kindness, your personality.. looks are like money. If you've got them, people don't care who you are as a person. They'll put up with anything just to be around you.
Guys say they want a woman who is "down to earth" but you don't get many women like that who spend three hours every morning trying to look photo-shoot perfect before going to check the mail.
Which, honestly, is what guys pant over.
As guys get more and more used to seeing fake women on TV and the 'net, real women will feel more and more pressure to look that way. Beauty used to be a rare thing... maybe one women out of 100 were beautiful in any town. Now, we see the 1 in 100 everywhere, all the time... the other 99 are bound to feel bad, and men are bound to think, "Why am I with this cow? If we promoted self-esteem more often instead of saying "don't worry about it, a few thousand dollars and we can have you fixed right up" then we wouldn't need to worry so much about people feeling so insecure about themselves and feeling that they needed a dramatic change. Higher self esteem = Less need for cosmetic surgery.

- LoveWidescreen, on 09/21/2008, -2/+22Ouch. Depending on your height and overall body shape, that certainly could have led to some painful back problems. My wife is a 38DD standing at 5'4". Guys might think that's awesome (and I certainly won't disagree), but it's not all fun and games. Unfortunately, we have to get more expensive bras for her because the normal ones dig into her shoulders due to having narrower straps. Clothes that fit properly are a bear to find because of the large chest but her relatively diminutive height. And she and I have agreed from the beginning that if she experiences any back problems due to her breast size, she goes in for reduction surgery ASAP.
Yeah, it's nice to have those to play with, but her health and well-being absolutely comes first. Sadly, the guys who act like "WTF?! Like if a petite girl wanted to go to maybe a 32 C from a 32 B they could be a huge upgrade. The problem is that many girls go from 32 B to 34 D and they just look horrible.
