- JAGUART, on 10/28/2008, -2/+96BREAKING: Study Reveals That Green Enhances Women's Attraction to Men.
- svishi, on 10/28/2008, -2/+75Buried for using BREAKING
- gnews, on 10/28/2008, -0/+50Matrix: The Lady in the red dress ;)
- bixby1, on 10/28/2008, -0/+40Red will now be the only color allowed in my harem.
- Pasty745, on 10/28/2008, -1/+39The article is interesting to read, but the title is a bit misleading. It seems to me that the title (even on the article's main page) should be something like "Psychological Study Reveals that Red Enhances Men's Perception of Women" or something like that.
- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -4/+34BREAKING: ***** you.
- Kronich, on 10/28/2008, -4/+28And there I thought it was just because of my good looks...
- IphtashuFitz, on 10/28/2008, -1/+25BREAKING: Yet another Digger doesn't understand the appropriate use of the term "breaking" in news headlines.
"Breaking" implies a news story where events are still unfolding and are likely to change as more details emerge. Natural disasters like earthquakes, wildfires, etc. are breaking because the extent of damage, number of victims, etc. are likely to change as time goes on. A freaking medical study is about as far from breaking news as possible as it's just summarizing years of research. There's no unfolding story where details are likely to change.
Here's a not so subtle hint for you: If the article you're submitting doesn't use "breaking" in the title then don't use it when you submit here. Better yet, don't use "breaking" at all when submitting stories. - inactive, on 10/28/2008, -2/+16I see what you did there
- RealmDown, on 10/28/2008, -0/+13You must be a red head.
- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -0/+13Way to fail so hard at the title to the point of contradicting the article.
Red enhances women. - themastersb, on 10/28/2008, -0/+13This isn't breaking. This has been found years ago. The submitter probably put "BREAKING" in the title just to attract Diggs.
- serif69, on 10/28/2008, -0/+13I'm guessing all of them. So zero.
- Fracture98, on 10/28/2008, -1/+11How many mate?
- shutaro, on 10/28/2008, -1/+11RAAAAAAGE!!!
- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -0/+10I wonder how many MEN are going to start wearing red because of the submitter's mistake.
- solid12345, on 10/28/2008, -1/+11Your 6 cats don't count as a harem.
- itmoves, on 10/28/2008, -1/+10Boy, this is going to save lives.
- vat0r, on 10/28/2008, -0/+9You read my mind.
- Kronich, on 10/28/2008, -1/+9Yeah fair call...
- maximoo2, on 10/28/2008, -1/+9Another example of a study proving what people have known for years and then calling it news.
- MacBookForMe, on 10/28/2008, -1/+9How many, mate?
- jonssonar, on 10/28/2008, -0/+7Did anyone else think that "enhances men" was completely misleading?!
- UselessTrivia, on 10/28/2008, -0/+7That looked more like spontaneous human combustion to me.
- MacBookForMe, on 10/28/2008, -0/+7Lucky you! Now, you need to add just some more cool hot red color to your good look and you are going to fly...(no Red Bull needed:)
- Xyrx, on 10/28/2008, -3/+10Buried for abuse of the word "Breaking"
- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -0/+6I love them redheads...How about that chick Joan in Mad Men - only reason I watch it....ooh, my loins!!!
- phosphite, on 10/28/2008, -0/+6Tom Tucker: Bit of breaking news, we now go live to Diane being a bitch. Diane?
- BXRWXR, on 10/28/2008, -1/+7You've got red on you.
- APHughes, on 10/28/2008, -0/+6So my Shazam shirt is gonna get me the ladies?
- spyd3rweb, on 10/28/2008, -0/+6Look again.
- SirChasm, on 10/28/2008, -3/+8haha yeah, this bit too:
"The current findings have clear implications for the dating game, the fashion industry, product design and marketing."
I think the dating game, the fashion industry, product design, and marketing are already well aware of the implications of the colour red. This is hardly breaking news; this is age-old truths backed up by scientific research. - kinerry, on 10/28/2008, -14/+19BURIED FOR BREAKING
I'LL BREAK YOUR ***** FACE IF YOU USE BREAKING IN YOUR TITLES AGAIN! - centerblack, on 10/28/2008, -2/+7Firecrotch = win
http://www.swanksigns.org/images/signs/firecrotch. ... - Lucas123, on 10/28/2008, -0/+5Yeah, red sports cars, red dresses, red hair, etc...
- KSUdesigner, on 10/28/2008, -0/+5Don't use "breaking" at all on digg. Odds are that by the time your story hits the front page it won't be breaking news any more, even if it was breaking when you posted it.
- geekwarrior, on 10/28/2008, -2/+7Buried for BREAKING
btw, doesn't this come off as a no ***** Sherlock article? - davidlow, on 10/28/2008, -0/+5Chromatic male enhancement
- anoynymause, on 10/28/2008, -1/+6I always knew that red was the best colour... no doubt about it
- wice, on 10/28/2008, -2/+6a wild guess, i know, but i think the submitter was probably joking.
- gogog0, on 10/28/2008, -0/+3wow, this is the first time ive heard evolutionary psychology called sexist towards men. men and women are both highly primitive in their mating habits. i suggest you go read some pinker or dawkins
- jessehadden, on 10/28/2008, -0/+3So let me get this straight... these researchers asked men how much, out of $100, they would spend on a woman, based on her picture...
Then they imply, in analyzing the results, that it is men who are primitive in their mating habits.
I find this rather misandrist. Of course, that's OK in modern day society. Misogyny is wrong, too. They're equally wrong. But there's a reason why Firefox says "misogyny" is spelled right, but has no idea what the word "misandrist" is supposed to be. - Renton, on 10/28/2008, -0/+3"The red effect extends only to males and only to perceptions of attractiveness."
So no. - itmoves, on 10/28/2008, -0/+3"red enhances men" ?
- Slackdragon, on 10/28/2008, -0/+3If "Breaking" had been dropped from the title, there would have been a bit more room to make an accurate headline.
I was wondering how "Red enhances men", clicked the link and saw that red enhances men's attraction to women... Huh. Anyone with testosterone in their blood and at least one eye could have told you that. Hardly "breaking" in any sense of the word. - flxfxp, on 10/28/2008, -0/+3Broken.
- SteaminTmann, on 10/28/2008, -0/+3Nope, that's it.... just red. Not a symmetrical face, a good personality, or a nice body, just red...... :-/
- SuperMoses, on 10/28/2008, -0/+3Wait a minute? You mean i did this for nothing: http://pic.templetons.com/brad/photo/bm02/people/i ...
I'll RTFA next time. - cwmather, on 10/28/2008, -0/+3Damn it feels good to be a redhead. I thought the article was talking about "enhancements" though. So that blows.
