- Surferess, on 06/25/2008, -0/+7I hate to play the devil's advocate here, but in America, saccharine isn't what most diet drinks are sweetened with. It was my understanding that most of them are sweetened with aspartame. I'd like to see the study done with aspartame so it would be more relevant to the consumer.
- maddvibe, on 06/26/2008, -0/+4I've never liked the taste of artificial sweeteners, they just taste disgusting to me. I also don't know anyone that has lost much weight by switching from regular soda to diet. Interesting article.

- pstine, on 06/27/2008, -0/+2Being that I am a diabetic (I'm not overweight/obese btw, and do the whole usual diabetic routine), drinking either diet or regular sounds like a lose-lose situation for me if this is indeed true.

*cracks open a can of Diet Dr. Pepper*
mmm, sooooo good. - imbob, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1coca-cola zero taste like *****
- halo969, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Hmmmm ... that could explain why I've been able to lose weight while still drinking a can of regular Pepsi a day compared to when I was drinking Diet Pepsi only. I don't diet either.
Something should be said for pure(r) ingredients and less processed foods. I think about my grandparents and all the bad-by-today's-standards foods they ate yet they weren't obese and they lived long lives. Plus they drank regular soda like it was going out of style. Makes you wonder. - swankboy, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1This is BS. I stopped drinking regular soda a few years ago. At the time I was 217lbs. Today I'm 191lbs. I drink diet soda every day. I continue to loss/maintain my weight.

No. - aquireworth, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Hate to break it to ya but regular Pepsi isn't really a pure unprocessed food.
- ijacker, on 06/26/2008, -3/+1or you could just stop drinking soda, fat ass
