- drunkenoaf, on 01/02/2009, -0/+8The paper's abstract doesn't say what the antioxidant is-- http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18952082 -- but it's highly likely it isn't sodding cranberry juice or vitamin C tablets.
Note, the patients in the trial actually have a proper medical condition where oxidative stress is causing harm, and it's take a severe disease to get there. The people that the adverts for Pomegranate juice are aimed at aren't. You can't extrapolate anything to do with antioxidants, fruits and general health from this study. - ReverendRodger, on 01/02/2009, -2/+7Maybe it's lupus.
- unknownpoltroon, on 01/02/2009, -0/+5"currently, there is no effective medical therapy for pain relief."
It's called ***** opiate based drugs, you psycho prohibitionist puritan *****. - thras, on 01/02/2009, -0/+4Gall stones. Coming back around Thanksgiving is a pretty good sign (they're triggered by diet). Go see a doctor.
- kbillar, on 01/02/2009, -0/+4My friend currently has pancreatitis; he has to fight tooth and nail just to get decent pain meds. At first he was treated like an addict trying to score by faking the pain, then after fighting to have them perform a CT Scan, they diagnosed him with pancreatitis… and they still treat him like an addict trying to score. Poor bastard hasn’t been able to work in over a year. God bless our Puritanical, alarmist Health Care system, more afraid of addicts than willing to actually help people.
- PrairieDoggin, on 01/02/2009, -0/+4I'll say it is herpes... get some valtrex dude.
- Gat0rvean, on 01/02/2009, -0/+3Upper right abdomen would more than likely be an issue with your gall-bladder or liver. If as you say it was on and off and came back right after a big meal (I assume, with Thanksgiving and all) than it is more than likely gall stones. Pancreatitis normally presents itself more on the left side under the rib cage to the middle of the chest.
I am in no way a doctor and my advice is only based on personal readings. I myself suffer from pancreatic attacks and I've read up quite a bit on the subject. - terryallison, on 01/03/2009, -0/+2I noticed that when I started taking my antioxidants, my attacks went down. I had no idea that it was my pancreas. I'm taking more antioxidants, or at least a better supplementation now.
- kbillar, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2Then why the hell did you bother to read and comment on the ***** article? Are you really that bored?
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2That doesn't mean a few asshats won't try.
- STBAT25, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2I had pancreatitis once, thank god it wasn't chronic, because it hurt like hell. They had to give me powerful pain meds. that I wouldn't want to have to take for more than a short time.
- 0crabby0, on 01/02/2009, -1/+3It's never lupus...
- DrDigg, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1I am a doctor and I completely agree with gat0rvean. Most likely gallstones, less likely to be gastritis or ulcer. I would start with an ultrasound. Most liver pathology actually does not cause pain.
- mauso, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1Or herpex.
- Sogui, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1Hmmm I had a sudden pain that showed up in the upper-right side of my abdomen this August. It was on and off for about a month & a half and then stopped bothering me until around Thanksgiving where it came right back and hung around till now.
Any armchair physicians want to take a crack at that one? - Niightwitch, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1Athlete's foot?
- supermanly, on 01/02/2009, -5/+5Hmm...2 comments, front page, submitter has dugg 17,476 articles in about 3 months. No thanks

Supplements http://www.supplements.net - Babali, on 05/06/2009, -0/+0In the media of biological structures and biochemical substance, if the cells have antioxidants like lycopene, they destroy the harmful property of the harmful free radicals receiving the extra electrons of the harmful radicals.
http://www.tomato-info.com - inactive, on 01/05/2009, -1/+1A "proper" medical condition? You must be a "health care" professional.
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -2/+1Ha. And to believe I read that antioxidants were only good for your skin.
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -2/+1I'm not even gonna read the article but I'm gonna hafta say "TRUE"!!!
- Ghorkvos, on 01/02/2009, -3/+1This is not relevant to my interests.
- tarley, on 01/02/2009, -5/+2Great... if you've got Pancreatitis that is
