When you are faced with 2 groups one being a minority, in this case men and women, the minority always gets more leeway and special treatment. It's the same as fathers usually losing in custody battles in court. Bad treatment from a minority towards a majority is ok or not as bad. Bad treatment from a majority towards a minority is viewed as 5 times worse than it is. One day hopefully we can make it where cases like this are horrible no matter who is doing it to who.
