- KewlStoryBro, on 11/08/2009, -1/+4Somebody call Balto, quick!
- Floobins, on 11/08/2009, -0/+2Actually it really means a person originally native to that land. It's just more commonly used to mean the people in Australia.

Edit: Never mind, avaavaroa already posted this. - randmcnally, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1better picture:

I wonder if they do their groceries on Big Diomede Island:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/00 ... - BDJC, on 11/09/2009, -0/+1Never mind that antiseptic soap and body bags are a standard component of any pandemic preparation kit in Canada. Also never mind that they sent the same kits to more than just aboriginals. Ahh, but never mind... keep following the media as they blow everything out of proportion.
- seltaeb4, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1I thin it means a person native to a land that does a lot of sit-ups.
- RossCraig, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Yes I understand that in Alaska that the term is still acceptable. My mother in law is Inuit and she can't stand the term Eskimo.
- DaviDTC, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Get butthurt more over a joke.
Canada has good healthcare, we should follow them.
House passes healthcare bill.
Makes joke about Health Canada passing out body bags for those who get sick.
People bury cause they have no humor.
But that is digg. Everything has to be serious with everything the Dems want. No one else thinks it is funny that Health Canada passed out body bags and people in America are saying how good their healthcare is and we need something like it? Perhaps if that story came out a couple years ago, but right now, right when we are in this big debate over it? Oh ya, making a joke at the Dems expense isn't funny here. - Yage2006, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1***** you wrale.
- EastBury, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Here in Alaska, Eskimo is an acceptable term. In Alaska, not all Eskimo's are Inuit. Some are Inupiaq, some are Yupik, Chupik, Cupik, Alutiiq. (FYI: I am Inupiaq and don't mind being called Eskimo)
- LeMAD, on 11/08/2009, -1/+2In Canada we already taken precautions for this a few weeks ago by sending aboriginal people some antiseptic soap and body bags.

- dsfjvhbd, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1I did not expect that place to make news a second time, after it was "the Alaskan village from which you can see Russia"
- japandave, on 11/09/2009, -1/+1While you all are looking the other way there is something even more sinister brewing up over in the Ukraine...

Maybe the media is trying to brainwash us with fear for a reason...?
But what is that reason... - njbignell, on 11/08/2009, -2/+2Aren't all the Deadliest Catch boats anchored on that island?
- mabakerbraker, on 11/08/2009, -1/+1Sarah Snow Patrol is COMING!!!! Stay tuned.

- seltaeb4, on 11/08/2009, -1/+1Maybe Sarah can shoot them all dead from a helicopter. Problem solved, don'tcha know!
- DaviDTC, on 11/08/2009, -2/+1I'd blame it on Russian considering they are the closest thing to them.
- RossCraig, on 11/08/2009, -3/+2We don't call the people from the North, Eskimos here in Canada. They are called Inuits, as the term Eskimos group about 4 different types of "tribes" into one classification. Here in Canada we only have Inuits.
- FlaNative, on 11/08/2009, -1/+0"Alaska island village hit by suspected swine flu"
RFC 1925:
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. - defsyfe, on 11/08/2009, -2/+1Great... Next up whale flu. Can't wait to hear the rumors about the first case being from a man ***** a whale.
- StopBanninMePlz, on 11/08/2009, -4/+2BREAKING NEWS! ESKIMOS HAVE THE FLU! THEIR FRAGILE IMMUNE SYSTEMS CANT HANDLE IT WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!1111111111

- carl0ski, on 11/08/2009, -5/+1Aboriginal I believe is a uniquely Australian term
Aboriginal = Indigenous Australian - DaviDTC, on 11/08/2009, -7/+1I hope body bags are part of the US healthcare system when it rolls out.
