They literally put the afterbirth in a bag, and it gets sent to a lab... the stem cells are taken out and frozen and stored for a day when the child may develop a disease that can be cured with stem cells... with no fear of rejection, cord blood cells are ideal... This process is becoming more and more common.. It may be a gimmick, but it may also save your kid's life someday!

Its probably the most dangerous time in a womans life, yet because its a natural process and happens reguarly we seem to ignore all the risks and dangers. In the rare chance I ever have kids, there's no way I'm even having a midwife. If anything goes wrong I want a qualified doctor present not some mother of three who thinks her personal experience qualifies her.

The baby was full term, in the perfect head-down position, and everything was fine. We had 2 experienced midwives present. And when it was all over, we curled up with our newborn baby in our own bed and went to sleep. No annoying doctors, nurses, medical tests, unnecessary medicines and vaccinations. The way it's been done for thousands of years. It was great. I don't expect you to understand.
