- srodolff, on 10/11/2007, -3/+57I love the fact that in Germany, beer is considered a food group.
- cyberdork, on 10/11/2007, -2/+28I like the amount of beer bottles in the picture with the German family. :-)
- BackwardsPanda, on 10/11/2007, -0/+26Its just taken off Time:

Food Expenditure For One Week - $18.
Favorite Foods: Pepsi and Ramen Noodles.
Off course, the family size = 1.
Now take THAT rest of the world (well almost)! - Dougman82, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23Those damn Brits - mayonnaise sandwich? I'm not reading that wrong?
- fober, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21So you digg the Dongs, huh?
Dong digger. - Racerx52, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18Health of the western world? Where are you living? We are living longer than ever.
My grandfather was 83 when he died, and my GREAT grandmother is still alive and kicking. (And knockin a few back!)
I don't think the health in general of the western world is in any sort of decline, HealthCARE on the other hand... - sarazen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16It is amazing how many big brand packaged foods are tucked in there. Lots of Coke, and bottled water, some Pepsi even some KFC, and it wasn't all from the US either. I think I'd like to give it a go for a week in Cairo, Ulaanbaatar, or Shingkhey, their fresh foods just looked good, especially that meat.
- DiggLord, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18Dugg for including the Dong family!!
- Theipolicy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16Digg eats servers.
- TehSwat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13The one thing they all agree on is Coca-cola
Pepsi must be upset. - wildfire, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14Scurvy me timbers!
- bIuebonics, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9it's amazing how over the top the description for this is.
- civperc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9No stereotyping, just the way it is.
- superyounan1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8mmmmmmmm, mayonaise saaaaandwiiiiiichhhh
- treelovinhippie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Australia?
Having stayed with a Japanese family for a month, I would say they are one of the most healthiest countries in the world. When I got back my family said how good I looked (even though I'd gone in winter and caught a cold for 3 out of the 4 weeks over there)... gotta be the food :) - bigtizzle, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Feeding a family for a week is expensive as hell! I could eat for two months on the coin some of those folks are dropping.
- broomballwilson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+724 Liters of coke?!?!?! That mexican family is loco!
- mcfarag, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Being Egyptian and having visited Cairo, I can tell you that the food there is absolutely fantastic...everything is prepared on the spot and has the perfect combination of spices and flavor, although Okra might not be the tastiest of your options
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7I've heard of a mayonnaise sandwich. I think it's an old thing though, my Granddad is the only person I know that eats them.
- Satanael, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Am I the only person that thinks that Ecuador family is hardcore?
- maherjabr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Look closely... they're plastic.
- DavePee, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7This is crap. For starters it's lifted straight from Time magazine. Secondly, showing what one family out out millions eat in each country is just slightly generic don't you think? Germans all drink beer, Americans eat pizzas, Italians eat bread and pasta, yeah whatever.
- maherjabr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5He bathes in ramen too. Do the numbers work out now?
- hiPpymIck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5ask about condensed milk sandwiches..
- civperc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7I like to see that I'm in the U.S. but not eating all the sh*t that some of the Revis and other U.S. families do. Those Asian families know how to eat well!
- SammyJr, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Despite our craptastic American diet, my great great grandmother is alive today at age 103 and has, so far, met 4 of her great-greatgrandchildren.
- RobertS44, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6It wasn't as craptastic when she was younger. Our generation will be the first generation in America to actually DECREASE average life expectancy...
- maherjabr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4No DavePee... This is simply a glance at what an average family MIGHT have. I don't think they expect you to come to the conclusion that all Americans are black either.
PS: All Polish people eat Pig's knuckles. YEAY! - grubwort, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Look at those people. It was definitely NOT a typo.
***** chavs. - maherjabr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I sense a lot of anger coming from Error601... I think he needs to eat some pizza and follow it up with some tasty Lay's potato chips... mmmmm
- SPECOPS, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4what if he switched to lemon pepsi? some vit c! :)
- bvnay, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Has anyone noticed that the poorer families are smiling the most? Maybe its their food.
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I've lived in England all my life and have never heard of anyone eating a mayonnaise sandwich. It was probably something and mayonnaise sandwich, and the something got cut out by accident by a retarded sub-editor or something.
- tazx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Watch people shop for groceries at a major supermarket for an hour.
- TwoDeuces, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3My girlfriend is Japanese. I have to admit that at first I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of eating so much fish, but I've grown used to it. Now, at her urging I make our own home made noodles, eat a ton of fresh vegitables, and completely cut out sugar and caffeine from my diet. I've lost about 20 lbs (not that I was fat to begin with - 6' @ 190lbs) and sleep regularly. I feel great. I'm totally convinced that it's because I eat differently.
- phenom2k7, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Fav foods: peanut butter
- dezmo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4newsflash, nobody cares about canada
- theysayjump, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6It's actually somewhat disgusting to not only see how little money the poorer countries/families have to spend on food, but also the amount that the richer countries (mainly the U.S and U.K) have and spend it on *****.
I live in the U.S and spend about $100 for two weeks worth of food and I'd say the German table is the most appealing (and I'm not a drinker). - jamesong14, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3In Malaysia, i eat seafood always. Maybe you like it too^^
http://hoipengseafood.malaysianfood.com.my - steveoco, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yeah where is the aussie family? Red meat, prawns, vegimite and milo haha
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I spend about $100-150 a month o.O
- maherjabr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It's all about the hats.
- MrSidnet, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I recommend some Sesame Chicken. Statistically, it's his favourite food. Or is that somehow being racist?
- astanhope, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It's fascinating how many of those photos include at least one can or bottle of Coca-Cola or other Coca-Cola product. Check out how much Coke the Mexican family consumes!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3A favorite food of the Revis family was sesame chicken. LOL
- phenom2k7, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3lard sandwiches are better
- dezmo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3if you go to college, have your friends steal you some fruit from the cafeteria. also, ramen is about $.10 a package so how do you get $18 out of that?
- MisterBozo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Was your grandfather eating the same junk food that we eat today? It's very doubtful that life expectancy will continue increasing if what we eat keeps getting worse and worse.
- tulpe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2i hate you for that link.. now my keyboard is covered in saliva.. *yerch*
