- str3ama, on 01/21/2009, -0/+13SLD - seasonal light depression or disorder is one of the main causes of winter depression, lack of proper lighting gets people depressed as it messes around with the body's mechanics.
- tjClassic82, on 01/21/2009, -3/+15If you sleep in a cave like I do then you would never have this problem.
These people should just sit in the dark all year round and they wouldn't have any issues!
Give them a WOW subscriptions they'll be just fine. - explodingonion, on 01/21/2009, -0/+10From the article: #8- take an anti-depressant like Zoloft or Levoxyl.
How do these drugs have a place on a list of NATURAL solutions? - fluidfoundation, on 01/21/2009, -0/+8I think the guy from this digg found a way:
http://digg.com/comedy/Guy_snorts_coke_and_jerks_o ... - commepasun, on 01/21/2009, -1/+7Exercise really helps. And it kills several birds with one stone: weight gain, fatigue, irritability, frequent chills etc. Even when you have all those symptoms and more, it pays to make an effort and go to the gym on a regular basis. You will feel the difference, and it will get you through the sunless period.
- Paranor01, on 01/21/2009, -0/+6Just because you don't have something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist /s
- JustinNoland, on 01/21/2009, -0/+6It actually is one.
- inactive, on 01/21/2009, -0/+5Wow...yeah, I totally have the money for these things.

Buy a 1000Watt HPS light. Grow some pretty plants under the light. You can hang out with the plants and enjoy the light too. When the plants have grown and flowered, smoke them. You will make it through the winter just fine. - pinchduck, on 01/21/2009, -0/+4Go skiing. Downhill, cross country, whatever. Snowshowing, hiking if there isn't a lot of snow. Get out and enjoy the weather. Do something vigorous enough to generate heat, and you'll be fine.
- TBombadil, on 01/21/2009, -1/+5personally i drink.
- inactive, on 01/21/2009, -0/+4Masturbate...or better have kinky sex.
- Paranor01, on 01/21/2009, -1/+5What a bunch of under-thought intelligence to make a statement like that.
Just cause you can't understand the disorder, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Many issues have been put down to "it's all in your head" when they discovered there really was something to it (more than just "in your head"). I've been living with SLD/SAD for as long as I can remember, and it's definitely not my imagination. - novemberdream07, on 01/21/2009, -2/+5thank you tom cruise
- overt, on 01/21/2009, -1/+4Move to Australia?
It's nice and hot here. - dbalaski, on 01/21/2009, -0/+3Hmmm -- You don't have to spend a lot to get the benefits:
1) Change out soft-white bulbs for higher color temperature bulbs
(you can get CFLs with Bright (3500 K) or Daylight (5000 K) -- all for about $5 a bulb)
the higher color temperature light will help SLD -- cheaper then buying a whole new desk lamp !
Go to a tanning salon once a week during the winter -- it really perks you up and you get a shot of vitamin d by doing it )... - fallentree, on 01/21/2009, -0/+3Nothing like a powerful depressant to keep the blues away.
- 3tcp, on 01/21/2009, -0/+2BURIED FOR KILLING BIRDS
YOU ARE A HEARTLESS BASTARD - JitMaster, on 01/21/2009, -0/+2Ice skating, hockey, sliding. Wear the right clothes and it great outside.
- MikeFromAmerica, on 01/21/2009, -0/+2Doctors? What do they know. Xenu forbids polluting my body with filthy drugs like Vitamin D.
- JakeW, on 01/21/2009, -0/+2Right now.. but in a few months...
- newms32, on 01/21/2009, -0/+2The biological effect caused by the lack of sunlight is a disorder. What's wrong with that?

- dbalaski, on 01/22/2009, -0/+1No -- i said once a week during the winter period
Moderation is key - you won't get skin cancer from limited exposure unless you overdo it (or you are prone to cancer ) - christoast, on 01/21/2009, -8/+9What a bunch of over exaggerated dumb ***** pseudo-science

- MattStenning, on 01/21/2009, -1/+2Considering that its not under 30C everyday here at the moment does anyone have tips on how to cool your house naturally?
- stk198323, on 01/21/2009, -0/+1I can sell you a truck load of our fresh air in exchange of a truck load of your hot air!
Now that I found an answer, I leave it to you to find one for transportation of said air. - Paranor01, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1How interesting... every reply to say that SLD/SAD doesn't exist, starting with telling of their own experience with it. Damn, if that isn't biting your nose off to spite your face :)
as for chistoast, name calling is the symptom of low wit and low wisdom. - derek20cali, on 01/21/2009, -1/+2DUde seriosuly lay off the pot.

- cezx, on 01/21/2009, -2/+3Easier one, Smoke a joint every few days, smoke two if its a sunny day. Honostly the only thing depressing about winter is ***** university, winter amplifies its suckiness, but its a trade off in a way, seeing cute asians in their silly winter attire
- m00nflower, on 01/21/2009, -1/+2dugg because this should replace #8 ....antidepressents from your doctor are not "natural"
- Dexter77, on 01/21/2009, -2/+3They forgot the most common one here in arctic areas. Booze, booze, booze and some more booze.

- macmcraeart, on 01/22/2009, -1/+1"Go to a tanning salon once a week during the winter "

1. Stop being such a cry-baby-bitch and suck it up, fag-ass. - str3ama, on 01/21/2009, -1/+1Osama is that you?
- Niocan, on 01/21/2009, -1/+1@derek20cali
Ahahaha, "whitehousedrugpolicy.gov..." See there's your problem, if they said anything positive about Cannabis it would question the drug laws themselves thus through self perpetuating means they don't.
Also the second link in that search reads as:
"CONCLUSIONS: Heavy cannabis use and depression are associated and evidence from longitudinal studies suggests that heavy cannabis use may increase depressive symptoms among some users. It is still too early, however, to rule out the hypothesis that the association is due to common social, family and contextual factors that increase risks of both heavy cannabis use and depression."
So look into it yourself to find the true answers :) - derek20cali, on 01/21/2009, -1/+1Way to ignore evidence to the contrary. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=fire ...
