- BXRWXR, on 08/20/2008, -1/+56Here's a tip - brush your friggin' teeth.
- Namaha, on 08/20/2008, -0/+341. Brush teeth/tongue
2. Chew (cinnamon) gum
3. Drink more water
4. Rule out Rare causes for bad breath
5. Have a Slice of Bread
6. Get a water pick
7. Don't let it get to your head.
The reason there's only 7 is because they separated chewing gum and chewing cinnamon flavored gum for whatever reason. - inactive, on 08/20/2008, -6/+39So my normal diet of eating ***** is out then?
- HillerMylife, on 08/20/2008, -0/+28From the article: "Your body needs water, so drink that *****."
- fudgebrown, on 08/20/2008, -1/+19tongue scraper
- suckanucka, on 08/20/2008, -3/+171 guy 1 cup?
- JayceMJ, on 08/20/2008, -0/+13They seperated Cinnamon from gum because it doesn't need to be cinnamon flavored gum just cinnamon flavored anything. In fact cinnamon flavored mouth washes usually last longer and are more effective than that of the mint variety. Long known remedy for bad breath, tackled on Mythbusters and still old news today.

"brush your god damn teeth" - inactive, on 08/20/2008, -3/+13Quit Smoking.
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -2/+12Unfortunately, yes; however, you can supplement your new diet by having people fart into your mouth. Lighter, less filling, but same great taste..like lite beer.
- executorzz, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9Brush twice a day.
Floss once a day.
Go to the dentist twice a year. - galv0, on 08/20/2008, -6/+15Eat less dog *****.
- thingmabobby, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9"If you're on one of the many popular low-carb diets, remember that bad breath or "ketone breath" is a potential side effect when you always have that burger sans bun. You can try different methods of masking the odor, such as gum or tart candies, but adding a few carbs to your daily diet might also do the trick."
I think mainly because people on the no-carb or very low-carb diets get bad breath so adding a tiny bit of carbs may help with that. As for a person on a normal diet I don't think eating a slice of bread would do anything at all. - septicmadman, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9Depends how hungry he is.
- sonofalink, on 08/20/2008, -0/+8You can also get some nasty things called tonsil stones where food gets in your tonsils and makes your breath smell like pure hell.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsil_stones
http://www.tonsilstones.org/ - inactive, on 08/20/2008, -1/+9There are *8* steps!? Damn, I'd rather just have bad breath
- div2n, on 08/20/2008, -1/+8There are some conditions that none of those help.
For instance, some people (like me) have tonsils that basically are like swiss cheese -- full of holes and pits. Sometimes, bacteria set up shop and create chunks of *****-smelling stuff that can be hard to shake loose.
I try to use a water pick, but that doesn't always work so well.
One of these days, I'm gonna have them removed. Until then, I sometimes have bad breath despite having some of the best dental health around. Hint: I've never had a cavity at age 31. - inactive, on 08/20/2008, -3/+10That was a very good read. Short sweet and it touches on those things that I always realize at the end of the day and wish I could think of first thing in the morning..
- Torx, on 08/20/2008, -1/+7this list leaves alot to be desired.
FLOSS with real FLOSS
quit smoking,
get your tonsils taken out, if your tonsils get infected your tonsil crypts will be pitted with tonsiloliths
if you have post nasal drip, get that taken care of
dip your tongue scraper in rubbing alcohol, scrub
get your cavities filled
gargle saltwater - ApokalypseNow, on 08/20/2008, -0/+5The cure for my bad breath was simple: mouthwash with hydrogen peroxide and a toothpaste with baking soda in it. The bacteria that cause bad breath aren't very tolerant to changes in ph or oxygen levels, so I just changed their environment. 1 week later, no problems.
- londubh, on 08/20/2008, -1/+6Stop breathing.
- inigomntoya, on 08/20/2008, -0/+5Oooo - the Pro model. VERY nice.
- zosoIV, on 08/20/2008, -0/+5"You gotta wash yo' ass if you must. You gotta brush yo' teeth if you must, or else you be funkee!"
-Del Tha Funkee Homosapian - Spuy767, on 08/20/2008, -0/+5You work with darius too?
- kaniz, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4Brushing your teeth only solves part of the problem. As food stuff can get stuck between your teeth that might not be cleaned fully with normal brushing. Also, one of the biggest sources of bad breath is the bacteria on your tongue and cheeks - so it's also a good idea to brush those while your at it, and/or buy a tongue scrapper.
Also, when working 9-5, or running errands and out for the entire day - you may not always have the option to brush your teeth during the day, in which case - Drinking water, chewing gum, eating fruit can also help - as they can prevent the buildup of bacteria on your tongue (which as mentioned above, is one of the biggest sources of bad breath, not just your teeth)
I know after my 2nd or 3rd coffee of the day, my mouth starts to feel pretty nasty and grabbing some water to help rinse out the mouth can avoid getting end of day "Did you just eat a fart?" breath. I brush my teeth up to 4 times a day (waking up after breakfast, and at night before bed at a minimum, and usually once when I get in from work, and after supper also usually), and find I can still get nasty breath here and there. - vdubski, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4If you RTFA, they mention Big Red, but then it says they don't recommend it because gum with sugar is bad for your teeth.
I'm sure they didn't pay to let people know that Big Red is bad for your teeth. - hwy9nightkid, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHGt3J2VO6k
- SpacePoet, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4Um, going to the dentist to fix impacted molars suspiciously off that list.
/my current problem - Rudegar, on 08/20/2008, -2/+69. stop rimming rodents
- hwy9nightkid, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHGt3J2VO6k
- riptor666, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4Mouthwash does nothing, Interesting since Listerine has some alcohol which kills bacteria in your mouth. There's no way to have fresh breath all day anyway. Brushing helps out for a few hours then your *****. Gum and Listerine are your best friends.
- sirussblack, on 08/20/2008, -2/+6Maybe someone will love me now!
- Namaha, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4Heh, that's what I get for skimming I guess, oh well, at least you cleared it up :)
- ren1999, on 08/20/2008, -0/+41. Floss both sides of each tooth before bed.
2. Brush your gums and tongue to a pink color as well as your teeth before bed.
3. Drink water throughout the day.
4. Eat less dairy and beef.
5. Don't mix fruit with non-fruit.
6. Eat a sprig of fresh mint in the morning. - compulsive1, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4FTA:
:Xylitol is a sugar substitute that not only increases salvation but also works to prevent bacteria from replicating in the mouth."
Does Vatican know about Xylitol? Maybe they should give it out instead of communion wafers? - vilago, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4cheers!
- DanBoodro, on 08/20/2008, -1/+4anyone remember when Martin Sargent reviewed that on unscrewed?
- kingofinternet, on 08/20/2008, -1/+4everyone should get a tongue scraper. i recommend this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Tongue-Sweeper-Pro-PRO/dp/B0 ... - hokie47, on 08/20/2008, -1/+4If you really want to get rid of bad breath and you tried everything else, use profresh. It's the only stuff that will give me all day good breath. Granted the stuff smells like bleach, and I still somewhat question it's safety, but it really stops chronic halitosis.
- suckanucka, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3But that Big Red freshness lasts right through it....
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -0/+3Looks like a weapon
- rsh28630, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Oral hygiene and oral sex... one leads to the other in both directions
- burjzyntski, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3good to hear that i'm not the only one with those *****-smelling white chunks that fly out of my mouth from time to time. i didn't know that they were being caught behind my tonsils, but that makes sense. why do i always sniff them "just to see how they smell this time"...?
- TheKillDoctor, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3hit the "Report it" button, it helps
- SpacePoet, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Isn't brushing your tongue while brushing your teeth just as good? Just watch out for the gag reflex, i've nearly puked up my morning coffee a few times.
- BrandonJM, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3You read my mind. I was just about to post a link to that video.
- mimigins, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2wtf this is about bad breath
- iDiggYa, on 08/20/2008, -0/+21 carry?
Go a around?
Have 5some?
Have D amount of tic-tacs?
And a period?
What? - CrazedLeper, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2Rinsing with hydrogen peroxide is more effective than anything else. Dilute 1 capful with a handful of water (careful, it's an acid), rinse before going to bed and *after* brushing and flossing.
Do it right and you won't get morning breath. - alexforcefive, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2I like that you swapped the I and U over in "tonsilitis" and "curse"
