A lot of times when I'm criticized I go on a defensive mode and I take it personally. But this quote can't be farther from the truth... "Really happy people [...] never let negative people and their attitudes get to them". Criticism when valid is great, but I should filter out what's valid and what's just out of spite and negativity.
- TheKingInYellow, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1i disagree. sometimes it's better to just not worry about what people think of you. they don't know you, they will most likely never know you so why should it matter what they think. people are always so worried about self image. shame.

- knde, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2One thing I've found that always makes me happier is giving people the benefit of doubt. This shouldn't be mistaking for naïveté. Instead it's a conscious effort to not immediately react negatively to a person's attitude or behaviour.
Example: Someone’s talking extra loud on their mobile on the tube and distracting everyone else. Instead of choosing to think “Urgh…snotty bitch.” try to think “she probably doesn’t know how loud she is being.”
It makes all the difference. Especially as a lot of times you end up finding that those persons you think obnoxious, rude or arrogant, are really just unaware of how they appear to others. - Accolade1, on 05/11/2008, -0/+18. Repeatedly watch the ending of "The Life of Brian." Hum along and you're set for 1+ days.
- indusnet, on 05/12/2008, -0/+0I do have similar kind of thinking. another thing I would like to add here is "Forget all that are painful and unnecessary "
- AlwaysAwake, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Great stuff here, and much truth.
