- egonSchiele, on 12/01/2007, -0/+54some of these are just stupid. Who thinks pretzels and muffins are nutritious?
- Zervas, on 12/01/2007, -0/+42what kind of britney style swamp trash thinks "gummies" are good for you?
- Fraff5, on 12/01/2007, -2/+38Going to McDonalds for a salad is like going to a crack house for vitamins.
- crazzy88ss, on 12/01/2007, -1/+30Why on earth would people think any of these are healthy?
- chris9902, on 12/01/2007, -3/+30That's freedom fries you terrorist!
- pastdigger009, on 12/01/2007, -0/+27Common sense is a difficult concept for way too many people.
- longnotsuki, on 12/01/2007, -1/+27But Peanut Butter Cups are good for your soul.
- AerodynamicHair, on 12/01/2007, -0/+23How many people in the world confuse gummy snacks for nutrition?
Drink Brawndo. It's got Electrolytes! - chedabob, on 12/01/2007, -2/+23Nothing McDonalds makes is healthy.
- MarkDykeman, on 12/01/2007, -1/+20McDonalds fruit and yogurt parfaits... weren't so healthy after all
- scabbers, on 12/01/2007, -1/+18Drink proper hot tea with a little milk. You don't need sugar in it.
/brit - kete00, on 12/01/2007, -1/+17Plants love electrolytes!
- FadieZ, on 12/01/2007, -1/+16Who the ***** used to think that gummy bears were healthy?
- vulminiha, on 12/01/2007, -2/+15I just can't get over the fact that it includes a completely sincere section on what to do if you 'can't resist' granola bars.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -0/+13Quiet! I'm busy making a healthful fruit salad. *dumps gummy bears into salad bowl*
- Urusai, on 12/01/2007, -0/+12Sign of the times, man.
- kirab, on 12/01/2007, -0/+12I would say that most of these are pretty damn obvious.
- psxman, on 12/01/2007, -1/+12Oh *****. Just because something is artificial doesn't make it bad for you.
- crapmatic, on 12/01/2007, -1/+12BAD: Anything "Fat Free". (or when you look at the font on those boxes, it's always written more like "fat freeeeee")
The fat-free fad is really out of hand. Yes, fat is calorie-dense, but (1) you do need fat, (2) modest amounts of fat are exceptional appetite suppressants, and (3) and fatty food does not lead directly to fatty tissue. Fat-free foods are just moneymakers for Nabisco and ConAgra and just basically replaces fat with carbs, spikes your insulin levels, and you end up being more ravenous. Eat a little fat and you'll take in some extra calories but not be as hungry. Word of advice to America: Stop this damn fat-free compulsion, stop eating massive portions, and you'll be fine. If you want fat-free, eat a damn apple. - snarkleclackers, on 12/01/2007, -0/+10Dang. I can't tell if this guy is trying to be funny, or if he's actually being serious...

5.Fruit Flavored Snacks
6.Frozen Yogurt
7.Rice Cakes - isaactwito, on 12/01/2007, -0/+10Thank you for ranting for me. I completely agree. Just eat in moderation and REMEMBER THE MOTHER ***** FOOD PYRAMID (oh where did it ever go?) and EXERCISE and you won't be such ***** tubbies. Jesus christ america! How hard is it to not kill yourselves by being idiots?
- egonSchiele, on 12/01/2007, -0/+8why don't you try to use the reply button next time?
- DeadElephant, on 12/01/2007, -0/+8Clearly the best alternative is a salad pumped with crumpets, deep fried chicken on top, and 14 singe serving dressing packets. :o)
- numberneal, on 12/01/2007, -7/+15even some fruits, although loaded with nutrients, are low in fiber and can stimulate your body to produce too much insulin and make your blood sugar drop and keep you hungry - e.g. bananas, tropical fruits like mangoes, raisins; take a look at the dr. sears' data on understanding carbs to see how foods rank based on their glycemic load: http://drsears.com/ArticlePreview/tabid/399/itemid ...
- brucemanly, on 12/01/2007, -0/+7thanks, I feel so informed now, thank you for your highly informative advice. I am a better person now and my body shall thrive in a brave new world of less muffins and pretzels because, now I know. Yes, now I know.
- Fizban140, on 12/01/2007, -0/+7"If you must have the baked variety, pick a small muffin or split one of the overgrown ones with a couple of friends."
How much of a bitch are you if you can't eat a whole muffin? They take it even further so that several friends help them take on the task of eating a muffin, I don't think I ever want to meet these kinds of people. Eat what you want but work out, all these diets are stupid. - edd17, on 12/01/2007, -1/+8They were referring to tea drinks that contain other flavourings and sugar
- mt066, on 12/01/2007, -0/+7"I said this atricle had to be 2 pages, Susan Moores! You've run out of ideas? Put ice cream on the end of the list and call it a day. Who gives a *****?"
- kete00, on 12/01/2007, -0/+6Because people believe what TV commercials tell them.
- evangelion01, on 12/01/2007, -3/+9when the ***** did any commercial tell me they were healthy? look at the damn nutrition facts, they are there for a reason.
- kirab, on 12/01/2007, -2/+8I would say that most of these are pretty damn obvious.
- jspegele, on 12/01/2007, -2/+8So a pretzel a day doesn't keep the doctor away?
- LogicBomB, on 12/01/2007, -0/+6The whole article is common sense. I don't get why they say people think those things are healthy.
Comaring Ice Tea to regular tea? Chocolate chip granola bars compared to straight-up granola? Prestzels have always been loaded with salt, fruit snacks like gummy bears have NEVER been considered anything but fruit-flavored sugar. Frozen yogurt is essentially a treat - nobody eats it for health benefits except maybe in protein shakes but anyone who does this should have an idea of what they are doing ANYWAY. And as far as rice cakes go, almost everyone buys the flavored ones anyway...
Whoever's diet includes granola bars and fruit snacks and still thinks they are eating healthy is an idiot... - xerexes1, on 12/01/2007, -1/+7Natural doesn't mean better or healthy. Have you heard of food allergies?
Regarding listed ingredients, I take it that you are not familiar with organic chemistry. - Ajajadude, on 12/01/2007, -0/+5If you go to Whole Foods to get whole grains, you'll never go back?
- MetalliTooL, on 12/01/2007, -2/+7Is this list for retards? Who actually thought Snapple and pretzels were healthy?
- Roblodocus, on 12/01/2007, -5/+10Who the ***** thinks these foods are healthy? If you're that stupid you almost deserve to be fat.
- mal1964, on 12/01/2007, -1/+6Water is the best thing in the world for you, but if you drink to much it can kill you. Enjoy everything in moderation and have a good life.
- voisine, on 12/01/2007, -0/+5What's wrong with fat and sugar?
- derek20cali, on 12/01/2007, -2/+6I would say that most of these are pretty damn obvious.
- headzoo, on 12/01/2007, -4/+8I'd have to add fruit juice to the list. Most of the stuff you find these days is just fruit flavored soda. Even the stuff that's "100% fruit juice", is just 100% fruit sugar. Just because all the sugar came from fruit, that doesn't make it any better than soda (which gets it's sugar from corn/sugar cane).
- archlich, on 12/01/2007, -1/+5Why does every paragraph link you to some random page?
- LogicBomB, on 12/01/2007, -0/+4They are if you make them yourself, keep them small, and load them up with healthy ingredients while avoiding the bad ones. If you go out and buy one larger than your first filled with chocolate chips you should kind of expect it to be a treat, not a diet item.
- loopyloopy, on 12/02/2007, -0/+4these pretzels are making me thirsty
- mateo60, on 12/01/2007, -1/+5Actually, I just assumed that for some reason they were terrible for you, but I just looked it up, and it's not nearly as scary as some of the other things you can get at McDonalds.
5.3 oz serving -- 160 Calories -- 2 g fat -- 1 g sat fat -- 0 g trans fat -- 5 mg cholesterol -- 85 mg sodium -- 31 carbohydrates -- 4 g protein -- 21 g sugar - Sketchcast, on 12/01/2007, -0/+3Take a look at any obese person in a grocery store, notice that they don't look at labels. What you may see as common sense, isn't so common in America.
- DeadElephant, on 12/01/2007, -0/+3That's a mighty cool list you got there, Shows the benefits of each, too.
