- bnorman, on 08/03/2009, -1/+2327. Drink 100 cups and you can save several people from a burning building!
- eyebits, on 08/03/2009, -0/+167I sit here drinking my French Press coffee reading an article that says it is good for me. Yeah!
..until I read...
"One last bit of coffee advice: Beware of unfiltered coffee -- the kind that is popular in Scandinavia and is made in French presses. Filtered coffee, which most Americans drink, is much better because the paper filters catch a substance called cafestol, which boosts "bad" cholesterol (LDL). Filtered coffee has no effect on either good or bad cholesterol."
***** me. I am always the exception. - atlasdugged, on 08/03/2009, -6/+131Good!! finally a vice of mine is now a virtue
- secrity, on 08/03/2009, -1/+93This is the first time I have read about Americans being part of a group that does something right regarding food or beverage.
- elmuerte17, on 08/03/2009, -6/+87@ weatherisp:
Buried for being a dick. - srchgrrl, on 08/03/2009, -4/+78As if I needed more excuses to drink more coffee! :)
- digglakings, on 08/03/2009, -10/+7998% other stuff... hmmm... a cup of beer is %100 goodness
- onimusha115, on 08/03/2009, -0/+65well until we put heavy cream and mounds of sugar in it.

- Sideshowslob, on 08/03/2009, -0/+47You should be a motivational speaker.
- janjamm, on 08/03/2009, -0/+46This is good news, but what do I do about the war between coffee and my stomach lining?
- redux2redux, on 08/03/2009, -0/+45Yeah, until the 'next' study...
- janjamm, on 08/03/2009, -0/+42You are a tough person to convince.
- 6453893, on 08/03/2009, -3/+43Honestly, even if research came out tomorrow proving that coffee either causes cancer, I would probably drink my dozen cups a day regardless.
- wannaBdug, on 08/03/2009, -6/+43Coffee? We need espresso.
- parax, on 08/03/2009, -9/+45You need to drink more coffee because it's industrial/capitalist-approved. Anything to increase your focus and productivity. Energy drinks, coffee, nicotine gum, adderall, and cocaine. (the illegal ones are approved of with a wink, so long as you don't get caught). Cigarettes were approved of until the bean counters tallied the cost in man-hours from smoke breaks and realized that there were plenty of vices (with new ones in development, like energy drinks) to keep people hopped up and producing.
Anything that keeps you pumped and at your station. - liebman, on 08/03/2009, -9/+44Woot! Time for another cup!
- janjamm, on 08/03/2009, -3/+36I think beer is a vegetable!

- zachstanley, on 08/03/2009, -1/+32Are you a man or a woman?
- biogears, on 08/03/2009, -0/+27what size cups are you using?
- borez, on 08/03/2009, -0/+27Drink both.
- AmyVernon, on 08/03/2009, -1/+28Ah, in Italy that's what they call coffee. :-)
- Sideshowslob, on 08/03/2009, -0/+26Can you explain the explanation that he explained to you?
- alwilson, on 08/03/2009, -0/+26I'm holding out hope for hookers and blow.
- ennuisquared, on 08/03/2009, -4/+29ADHD takes care of my need for caffeine.
- gamerbambi, on 08/03/2009, -1/+266 Reasons? Why couldn't the author label them?
- laughtears, on 08/03/2009, -1/+25coffee: it's what's for breakfast. and lunch. sometimes dessert.
- IKORKYI, on 08/03/2009, -2/+24Yeah, until the next 'study'...
- lnxfi, on 08/03/2009, -1/+225 cups of coffee and no lunch yet today. I've got the ***** jitters! All worth it though.
- damnmonkey, on 08/03/2009, -0/+21You ask too many questions.
- elmuerte17, on 08/03/2009, -0/+20or cancer
- mikalveli, on 08/03/2009, -3/+23Yeah, until the next study'...'
- Rain12913, on 08/03/2009, -0/+20Proving that coffee either causes cancer or what?
- berobreo, on 08/03/2009, -3/+22'Yeah', until the next study...
- inactive, on 08/03/2009, -1/+19I thought this gem was telling as well:
"Coffee is a complex beverage with hundreds, if not thousands, of bioactive ingredients..."
The anti-(some)drug crowd uses a nearly identical statement to convince their audience that marijuana is dangerous. Hundreds of bioactive ingredients: what's it all about? Is it good, or is it whack? - RealmDown, on 08/03/2009, -0/+18"It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning. It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion."
- DankBuddz, on 08/03/2009, -1/+19I can't even compare how awake and alert I feel since I kicked the caffeine habit compared to when i was drinking 2-3 cups of coffee a day. I'll never go back.
- bjstiktrix, on 08/03/2009, -7/+23Forget coffee. Drink tea!
- Dodobutt222, on 08/04/2009, -1/+17hah, the amount of times weatherlsp is being buried and elmuerte17's retort is being dugg has been the same for the past hour :D
- dronkmunk, on 08/03/2009, -3/+19Yeah, 'until' the next study...
- Rudegar, on 08/03/2009, -1/+16you can if you believe you can
- secrity, on 08/03/2009, -2/+17I don't understand why people put crap in coffee, it is better without it. One lady at work puts some sort of nasty flavored fake cream in her coffee -- that ***** stinks up the entire break room.
- icebane, on 08/03/2009, -0/+14but the sugar and cream has NATURAL flavoring, that means it's healthy.
- AndrewDB, on 08/03/2009, -0/+13I can't drink caffeine (I've not had any for about 8 months).
It gives me milds to migraine headaches.
Water, juice, or milk ftw. :) - Akairenn, on 08/03/2009, -4/+17"Ever wonder why your sleep doesn't re-energize you"
- Because I haven't reached proper REM sleep.
"why you have bags under your eyes in the morning"
"and why you can't seem to stay awake at work past noon without an energy boost"
- Just a hunch, but it might have to do with the working every waking hour thing I've been doing while starting a business.
"Yeah, it's the coffee."
No, it isn't. - doctorbong, on 08/03/2009, -2/+15Yeah',' until the next study...
- finalcloud33, on 08/03/2009, -0/+12and now i think of "300 big boys"
Bender: You seem a tad wound up, buddy. And your face is greasy. Real greasy. You been up all night?
Fry: Of course I've been up all night! Not because of caffeine, it was insomnia. I couldn't stop thinking about coffee! I need a nap. (He falls asleep, then wakes up) Coffee time! -
