- DermDoc, on 02/16/2008, -4/+16#16 - get sun exposure, it protects against cancer
#17 - don't get sun exposure, it causes cancer
Agh, doctors -- you never know when to believe them.- DeathfireD, on 02/16/2008, -1/+18Theres a difference between sun exposure and to much sun exposure. You don't have to go out shirtless for 3 hours to get the required amount of sunlight.
- bonkeykong, on 02/16/2008, -10/+3Still no cure for cancer.
- n1f7y, on 02/16/2008, -2/+8thanks for the update captain obvious
- Zaneris, on 02/16/2008, -1/+2You can't cure something that is just a malfunction of your own body, what you should be saying is that there is no 100% effective treatment for cancer. There will never be a magical cure for all cancerous cells.
- Lyph5, on 02/16/2008, -1/+2Nanomachine treatments would be 100%, and we'll probably be there in under 20 years.
- brooklynzoo, on 02/16/2008, -11/+4stop spanking it
- unfinity, on 02/16/2008, -0/+9You know, I've actually read that regular sex/masturbation can help reduce the risk of testicular and prostate cancer - spank away!
- Anon5, on 02/16/2008, -0/+13Actually, masturbation is good for you; it may protect against prostate cancer.
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn3942-masturb ... - atbnet, on 02/16/2008, -0/+10What's the point of living if I can't spank it?
- reitsu, on 02/16/2008, -0/+12Hmm...... I can only think of one tip, and that's: everything in moderation.
- haydesigner, on 02/16/2008, -0/+3@reitsu "Hmm...... I can only think of one tip, and that's: everything in moderation."
@jc7012 "Everything causes cancer, just live your life to the fullest."
Is it possible to do both? - Lyph5, on 02/16/2008, -0/+3That's how to live a life that isn't any fun. If you get sick you get sick, but not having fun doesn't guarantee you won't get cancer.
- haydesigner, on 02/16/2008, -0/+3@reitsu "Hmm...... I can only think of one tip, and that's: everything in moderation."
- jc7012, on 02/16/2008, -2/+20Everything causes cancer, just live your life to the fullest.
- po43292, on 02/16/2008, -1/+2And if you don't get it you still might get in a car accident or something.
- SFJoe, on 02/16/2008, -6/+1Wow - what a load of crap. All cancers are not the same. As someone who is dealing with cancer, I can tell you that doctors have absolutely no idea what has caused mine. All they have are some slight statistical correlations with unrelated areas such as leather working and cosmetology.
- BlueStarr, on 02/16/2008, -0/+3Genetics is the ultimate factor in a persons susceptibility to disease. They're saying it will help... not make you invincible but help to combat. But what this article is ultimately saying is to nourish your body with vitamin rich, healthy foods. And in the end that's not rubbish, it's fact.
- giantdouche, on 02/16/2008, -1/+11ANTI-OXIDANTS. ANTI-OXIDANTS. ANTI-OXIDANTS.
Seriously, they prevent DNA mutation, which is EXACTLY what cancer is. - TheHim, on 02/16/2008, -5/+4Another worthless list, buried. Far too complicated to include into a lifestyle. The old recipes are the only sensible ones: Have tons of Veggies and Fruit in your diet, Exercise (moderate and frequent are enough), Sleep well (very important one).
If you live your life frequently thinking about cancer prevention, you might want to get your head checked, could be a brain tumor.- poopz, on 02/16/2008, -0/+3Is there anything wrong with putting a few pieces of broccoli on your dinner plate? Taking your vitamins every day? I mean obviously I'm not going to do all of the 31 things religiously, but these are some good tips for preventing cancer that actually have research behind them..
- BlueStarr, on 02/16/2008, -6/+2What the *****? Keep this info away for your neighborhood slut.
19. Use a condom and stick to one partner. The more sexual partners a woman has, the greater her risk of contracting human papillomavirus, or HPV, which causes cervical cancer. Having an unfaithful husband also increases her risk. - kita8, on 02/16/2008, -4/+3don't eat, don't breathe, don't move. in essence kill ureself and u've outwitted cancer.
- BlueStarr, on 02/16/2008, -0/+3um...no. Eat health. Exercise. Live life.
Get it now?- kita8, on 02/16/2008, -0/+2i kno lots of ppl that got cancer and lived the good life.
if the sun can give u cancer, and so can sunscreen, then consider ureself screwed :P
- kita8, on 02/16/2008, -0/+2i kno lots of ppl that got cancer and lived the good life.
- BlueStarr, on 02/16/2008, -0/+3um...no. Eat health. Exercise. Live life.
- FadieZ, on 02/16/2008, -1/+3My family is Lebanese - we use garlic more than people use salt, yet I've had cancer, my mom has had cancer twice, my uncle has terminal cancer, my grandfather died from cancer, my aunt died from cancer and I'm currently getting another biopsy for cancer.
I mean garlic tastes good and all, but *****. Does it really work?
P.S. Sorry but I hate ***** like this. Everything causes cancer, even stressing about cancer. So stop worrying about cancer and live, trust me it's way more fun. You're going to die anyway, aren't you?- zakatov, on 02/16/2008, -0/+2at this point anyone with half a brain would see that garlic doesn't protect against a genetic predisposition for cancer
- SigmaEcho, on 02/16/2008, -4/+2Condoms don't prevent the spread of HPV.
- chall85, on 02/16/2008, -3/+4These stupid ill-informed lists are the reason I stopped using Stumble. Half of this list is speculation at best. Best to do your own research.
- BlueStarr, on 02/16/2008, -0/+2Knowledge is power. But what the list is pretty well founded. Eat healthy!
- TylerM, on 02/16/2008, -0/+3Knowing the world, I'd go and do all this stuff and they'd cure cancer.
- goddamnyouall, on 02/17/2008, -0/+0sounds just like something the world would do.
goddamn you, world!
- goddamnyouall, on 02/17/2008, -0/+0sounds just like something the world would do.
- minimalist147, on 02/16/2008, -1/+2Favourite suggestion: Drink a beer.
Yes!- cast55, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1If beer is one of the 31 things, then 31 beers should keep me up with the health nuts, right?

go talk to your doctor for cancer info - gibbwake, on 02/16/2008, -2/+1Another drug thats even nastier is the HPV drug being advertised all over tv called Gardasil that leads to a 45% increase in cancer in non virgin girls! Im not making a joke, tell every woman you know about this - I made a video of an interview with the group that reported on these findings while others didnt report on it for fear of reprisals from the giant drug companies. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6065118305 ...
This is a warning to all women: There is a 44.6% increase in cervical cancer after taking the live cancer HPV vaccine. The drug companies will use the increased cancer rates CAUSED by the hpv vaccine to fear monger and sell even more cancer to unwitting victims. The HPV vaccine is experimental and was attempted to be made mandatory - dont take any forced shots or drugs from the state.
"Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible." - Bertrand Russell, "The Impact of Science on Society", 1953, pg 49-50- Ymeg, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1Stop your *****.
www.theskepticsguide.org
If you want to complain about it, say how it only protects against 4 strands of the disease.
P.s. Infowars is as credible as a high school drop out selling you an invisibility potion.
edit: Why would it only increase it in 'non virgin girls'? Does man juice somehow prevent it? - jster89, on 02/16/2008, -0/+0I hope this is some kind of joke. I'm a medical student and am aware that this vaccine will revolutionise Cervical Cancer, by preventing it! How could you believe that a drug company would purposefully give HPV? Also HPV causes Cervical Cancer because of intercourse. The vaccine will give immunity to HPV, or at least the 4 most likely types to cause cancer. Get over yourself you conspiracy theorist.
- Ymeg, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1Stop your *****.
- Grolsch, on 02/16/2008, -1/+0Stop whining already, all those comments...
Yes you will die anyway, it doesnt mean you shouldnt take care of your body. You will probably feel better through out the day if you follow some of those tips and change your diet. Better food, more energy, more time to enjoy life.
"Everything causes cancer, just live your life to the fullest." with that mentality I really doubt you have any idea on how to live life to the fullest. - Ymeg, on 02/16/2008, -0/+132. Get your ***** checked every year. If your family has a history of it, you should act as if you will get it.
- Bersy, on 02/16/2008, -1/+0Half this list is crap, the other half is common sense or ***** everyone knows by now (or should). Seriously - "Don't eat chips or fries, they contain more acrylamides! Eat pretzels instead!" Newsflash morons, pretzels contain JUST AS MUCH or MORE acrylamides. The studies are right there on the web to look at if you wish to confirm this for yourself. Reader's Digest really irks me, thinking back to when I first had the fear put in my head that "oh no what if I get cancer", I realize it was reading an article in this stupid magazine 5 years ago. Then they have the nerve to say "don't stress".. gg hypocrites.
- Brad324, on 02/16/2008, -1/+133. Just kill yourself now. Guaranteed effective.
- DeFex, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1after you do all those things, get in your SUV and breathe toxic car fumes while you commute for 2 hours a day.
- Puisapres, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1Dugg for the good word about artichokes - they taste good, and they're great for you.
While I agree with most of the posters about how "everything causes cancer," you have to admit that this list has some really good tips. - whaleplushie, on 02/16/2008, -1/+2this list is crap:
#10: "Grilling meat can create a variety of cancer-causing chemicals. "
#14: "Throw some salmon on the grill tonight." - IAmLegend24, on 02/16/2008, -0/+2#32. Smoke Weed.
I had a lump in my groin area so I smoked weed every night for a week, and the lump is gone.- cjmal, on 02/16/2008, -0/+2I had no lump in my groin area. I smoked weed for a week. It was fun.
- jnosanov, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1"Quit smoking?"
- asherchang, on 02/16/2008, -0/+0#32: Don't go overboard with the antioxidants http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antioxidant#Adverse_e ...
#33: Organic foods aren't always better for you.
#34: (If you're a guy) Always empty your tubing regularly
#35: Make sure to have safe sex so you won't get HPV (It can cause cancer in both guys and girls)- bshock, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1Did you actually read the wiki article you linked, asherchang? This one simply suggested that at antioxidants had no effect on mortality on healthy people, and might only have a slight increase in mortality for the vulnerable. That hardly seems like a justification for including your little gem of wisdom in an already highly questionable list.
- wiggs08, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1hhmm i didn't even see "smoking marijuana" on there...THC apparently kills cancer causing cells, who knew!!?? Smoke a joint once a week and be safer from death..hahah
- holysocks, on 02/16/2008, -0/+0in other words, be asian
- Alpha1337, on 02/16/2008, -0/+3"Having an unfaithful husband also increases her risk."
,,, because women are incapable of cheating.... - Yage2006, on 02/16/2008, -1/+1I did not read all of them but off the top there are some that have been dis proven.
Also many studies have shown that dietary supplements are not only ineffective but actually harmful to the body.
Readers Digest is not peer reviewed either. So I would take all of that with a big grain of salt. - cfuse, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1Tell anyone who has had cancer that it was largely predictable - and get a free punch in the face.
- Kaylasita87, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1There is no way of preventing cancer. It is stupid to try.
- kball75, on 02/17/2008, -0/+0So if I stop being a lazyass, smoking, and eating horrible foods I'll reduce my risk of cancer?
Sounds like some liberal ***** to me. - bariswheel, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1Read The China Study.
- saboo1618, on 02/19/2008, -0/+0good thing i like broccoli!
- loverslobby, on 02/21/2008, -0/+0thats a good compilation
- TimberWolfGirl, on 02/27/2008, -0/+0Riddled with breast cancer in my family and damn right I'm going to listen to articles like this and believe that this works because my reality is I need to do what I can to prevent it (no matter the outcome) instead of treating it when it comes up. In the meantime live life to the fullest and best way I can. Just like people believe that religion helps them get through the day, I have to believe that this will help me. But whatever happens, happens.
