http://www.thegrahamfactor.com/?p=6
I think it's a lot easier to take vitamins than to alter your eating diet significantly.- eligus12345, on 01/07/2008, -2/+1Check it out, I'm not even going to lie, I wrote that, but it's definitely educational

- pjkli, on 01/07/2008, -2/+2Alternative medicine = a bunch of hippies making REALLY expensive pee.
- eligus12345, on 01/07/2008, -1/+1No. Besides alternative medicine, there are chemicals that work, you accept Aderall as an effecting cognitive enhancer, right? Well, Piracetam and its family have chemicals that are derived to make Aderall. Piracetam is the leading, most widely taken, nootropic drug. Yes, it works, not just through your pee, but it is proven. Word to the wise.

- Ninnux, on 01/07/2008, -0/+9Seafood is brain food....at least those high in Omega 3, like most of the cold water, oily fish like salmon, mackerel, etc. Fish, in general, are some of the best nourishment there is. Talk to the Asians...they seem to know this already.
- allatti2d, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1I don't believe seafood is brain food, although I'm sure it doesn't hurt. Medical journals I've read say that sugar is the perfect brain food because at its molecular level, this is almost strictly what the brain utilizes in function.
I think seafood (& the Omegas) are good for circulation, skin, hair, heart, nails, and both cushioning tissue and vital organ covering. The good effects on circulation and the heart would provide an indirect benefit to the brain. - bubba9999, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1Maybe it counteracts the lead in their toys.

- bekapants, on 01/07/2008, -1/+1so...eat the stuff you should already be eating everyday, be smarter?
- rarson, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Yeah, the funny thing is that these foods ARE actually better for your health, too. For instance, whole grains are easier for your body to digest than processed grains, so wheat bread is better for you than white bread.
If you ever read a book called "The Abs Diet" (sounds like a fad diet, but it's not, it's basically about losing weight by eating healthier and exercising, which is the really the only way to properly lose weight), the foods they talk about being healthier for you and easier to digest are basically the same as this list. I recommend the book if someone is looking for some healthy eating advice (and exercising, too).

- jankind, on 01/07/2008, -0/+7Dugg for brain food. I need all the help I can get.
- allatti2d, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2I had a professor who recommended that we all eat a candy bar or sugar candy right before taking tests, because the sugar directly affects brain function. Don't eat them all the time, obviously, but just before a test for the best benefits. (Of course, studying always helps!)
- eligus12345, on 01/07/2008, -2/+1Check out my blog post please, I'm writing articles about brain nutrition, yeah shameless plug, but it relates to this:

Thanks
- navitatl, on 01/07/2008, -4/+4I don't eat any of that stuff, and I'm pretty damn smart. I am the only lobster in the world that knows how to type, so I think that says something about my brainpower.

- omegaworks, on 01/07/2008, -2/+3Buried for "hippo campus"
- clownguyx, on 01/07/2008, -1/+13Just my luck, no bacon.
- mojaam, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1Depending on your condition, you have to use your brain for some of these. Like I face the problem of eating more eggs with my high cholesterol to boost brain power. Still a very nice list, will try to look for some of these at the grocery store next time!
- PresidentWikis, on 01/07/2008, -0/+3Forgot HEMP SEED OIL!
"Natures richest source of the Essential Fatty Acids [Omega 3, 6, & 9] (76%) and is a rich source of GLA (3%). "

- Gunsdead, on 01/07/2008, -2/+2Walnuts are brain food because they even look like the human brain? wtf kinda of hippy crap is this?
- bjs3171, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1i ***** hate walnuts. and most other nuts. no better way to ruin a nice chewey brownie or cookie than to throw in a bunch of pseudo crunchy nuts.
- bigsteve, on 01/07/2008, -1/+1Sounds like someone needs some of those nuts in his mouth right now. Reading comprehension FTW.
- KeepSwinging, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1Odwalla helps

- davidcg, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1http://duggmirror.com/
- Skooma714, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2What about Marijuana brownies?
- allatti2d, on 01/07/2008, -0/+4I think that's more like a fluffy brain pillow for brain nap-time.
- Chunken, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1I don't need to read the article, it just says double bacon cheeseburgers and super nachos right?
- dycc07, on 01/07/2008, -0/+0great article, except for the blatant copying of the walnut entry from http://www.newstarget.com/019885.html
- pumpedvideo, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1anything that taste bad can get on the list
- maione, on 01/07/2008, -1/+0Sushi should be on this list...
- bingobongony, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1This makes TWO Digg spamming websites that have the word "zen" in their name, depsite not having anything to do with zen.
- mrzack, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1Excellent, Wonderful!!! Stay away from Aspartame, It is a neurotoxin, makes you stupid and lowers the IQ.
- backcast, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1Dugg
- mmeggers, on 01/08/2008, -0/+0Buried for no meat.
- mjbaughns, on 01/08/2008, -0/+0Beautiful!
- universltravlr, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1This is deceiving. You cannot enhance the brain. You can only compensate for deficits. Anyone who has taken a basic neurobiology class knows this. The foods are good for the brain but they certainly will not raise your IQ or directly--perhaps if you switch over from taco bell to these foods you'll feel better, concentrate easier and then indirectly learn more--raise your intelligence.
- vikki77, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1Dugg for chocolate.
- BowlingShoes, on 01/08/2008, -0/+0vegetarians are smarter!
