- Timmyftw, on 07/09/2009, -1/+17I know I am. I suffer swelling (penis) from just looking at some women.
- spookyttws, on 07/09/2009, -0/+9Oddly enough, I've encountered 2 people with 2 of the allergies mentioned. First, my fifth grade teacher was allergic to the Sun. She dressed like Carmen Sandiego with a giant red hat, always wore those old people sunglasses and always carried a red umbrella. You can imagine how much we made fun of her. To add insult to injury, she was kind of a bitch too. But I guess I would be too if I was allergic to the sun.
Second, one of my best friends lead a normal life, growing up here in Southern CA, then in senior year of high school he went to visit his extended family in Vietnam. When he came back we went to the beach as normal and when we went into the water he broke out in weird hives and we had to get him to the hospital. He's been like that ever since. I have no idea what he was exposed to, but he developed and allergy. - RiotHeart, on 07/09/2009, -4/+10Most digg users are allergic to women
- CptBuck, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5Anyone else think some of the allergies you *do* hear about are taken a bit too far though? Celiac disease, for example, is a serious deal, but it's also pretty damn uncommon. I'm tired of seeing so much gluten free *****. For an overwhelming majority of people gluten does nothing except make foods taste better.
It's cool if you have that stuff as an option on menus or in super markets, but as a replacement? No way. - grimborg, on 07/09/2009, -1/+6I had a friend who was allergic to allergia. Whenever he got an allergia, he got an allergia. He died recently of a stack overflow.
- jamielinn121, on 07/09/2009, -1/+6My allergy sucks. It's not as bad as these but I'm allergic to weed. I can't even go to a concert because my throat will close up if I smell it.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -2/+7Fascinating article! I'd hate to be allergic to the sun. =/
- polarbeargarden, on 07/09/2009, -1/+6My heart goes out to all the women with vibration allergies.
- Devine122, on 07/09/2009, -3/+7There is only supposed to be one "h" in "heat"
- teamrock3t, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4um i think most women are allergic to diggers...
- ericthesalmon, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4It's lupus.
- buddahead9, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4I took the allergy test as a kid.
According to the test, I'm allergic to soy.
An Asian, allergic to soy... - phoenixf1r3, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4I have an allergy that, as far as I know, is so rare that I'm the only documented case. I'm allergic to pressure bandages. I swell up tighter if I'm wrapped up with it touching my skin. You should see the look on the doctor's face when I tell them. The last one thought I was crazy
- FreakinSyco, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Holy *****! I have one of those!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dermatographic_urtica ...
It was always just a neat party trick being able to write on my arm. Sweet to know I'm a freak. - LordByr0n, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3What the ***** man? This list is suppose to be spread out through at least 2-3 pages so that I have to click a god damn button to see the rest. Why are they saving me the trouble?
- giveme1, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3allergic to water? how is that even possible? aren't humans like 75% water?
- mattmicko, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Now i now why she didn't want to swallow
- merbot, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3I've got Dermatographism, its not a big deal now that I take medicine for it, put the first two years were hell.
- TranquilNight, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Soon you'll be too if you keep up that attitude.
- Yarkz, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2Dear PE teacher I may have Exercise-induced Anaphylaxis but have not been yet exposed to the the second part of it while exercising but just in case I will no longer exercise.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2wtf!
- sayuwantarevolu, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2My mom is allergic to sun. It sucks.
- bsonline, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2I inherited a sun allergy from my mother. Sun-screen and protective clothing helped her. Of course, she didn't go out much. With me, it is not only milder but seems to get better over time. I used to get very sick if I so much as tanned, and once thought I was going to die of a sunburn. It didn't hurt per se, but I felt like I was a furnace. Constantly feeling heat radiating out from me. Intense nausea, etc.
These days I just use normal protection, and then only if I'm going to be in the sun a lot. I still get very sick if I'm out for a few hours on a bright day, or just a couple of hours on an overcast day. I think the more I push myself, the higher my tolerance gets. I can even get a tan these days - and when I have one, the sun bothers me less. - anshuchimala, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2What's up with the author and exercise?
"...but its still a great reason to never use that treadmill you promised yourself..."
"Yes, an allergy to exercise. Not a dream, but a reality." - Luvboat, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3Man that red-head looks gorgeous. Oh wait, there's also an article.
- Amlethus, on 07/09/2009, -0/+21% of the population isn't that rare. Also, as someone with celiac disease, I'm compelled to say "***** gluten."
- SuperCujo, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2I'm allergic to chocolate and also lactose intolerant.
Most women I have spoken to about the chocolate allergy say "how can you live?!", whereas most blokes shrug and say "at least it isn't alcohol". - Csaliture, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2My ex girlfriend was allergic to cold. She would break out in hives if she ate an ice cube or spent to much time out in the cold. Which made life pretty interesting being from MN. Talk about bad luck with that allergy.
- gvlax50, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2You can be allergic to Heath Bars!? Oh noes!
- renemartini, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3i have a mild allergic reaction to strawberries... but I still eat them and pray next couple of days
- MareImbrium85, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2Another strange one is the allergy to cockroaches i just heard about this recently. they can give people a rash and even anaphylactic shock.
- antdude, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2I'm allergic to Digg. :P
- MNorton17, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2For a second I thought the URL said blur tit.
- TearinyCatala, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1I actually am friends with a girl with Dermatographism. It is a fun trick to show at parties but it really sucks when we try to go out to the woods for camping.
- SuperCujo, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1You can't see much of her face though...
- MrSparkle666, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2I find the picture of the gymnast's wet shoulders very arousing.
- Jdban, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2The second answer to that question is an utter failure.
- 3tcp, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2Never hear about? I just read about all of these in a list on digg. Buried for inaccuracy.
- babaganush, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1I used to have cold-induced urticaria...It was pretty ***** fighting through the Michigan winters...Any piece of exposed flesh would swell up with hives whenever I would warm up. Luckily it is something that can be grown out of and I luckily did. Though, it doesn't change the fact that Michigan winters still suck.
- catiecrafa, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1Cholinergic urticaria, right here.
It sucks too because I've lived in Florida my whole life.
Time to move. - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1I used to throw up after smoking, but I felt better immediately and went on enjoying my high.
- HealthHygiene, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1I have Solar Urticaria :-( :-( :-(
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1reported:

- DeLtAIjK, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1Really? Mine must be pretty mild, then. I don't particularly mind it...
- vizerei, on 07/09/2009, -3/+3So THAT'S why my balls are so big! They're swollen!
- cutepsychokitty, on 07/09/2009, -1/+1I am allergic to cold, which isn't too bad because it's easily managed by allergy medication.
- TearinyCatala, on 07/09/2009, -0/+0As for my fun allergy. I am allergic to nickle which is apparently becoming very popular.
