- Rev0lver, on 11/14/2007, -1/+11Chipotle = toilet bowl massacre. 'Nuff said.
- belthesar, on 11/13/2007, -2/+7Minus fifty DKP for a list with 10 items. Plus fifty DKP for a somewhat interesting article. Would have been a lot better had there been more examples.
- w1bmw, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4"3. Allergy. Allergy is a number one foods side effect."
OK... is it number one or number three? Buried for crappy writing. - inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+5You're being sarcastic, right?
Low density lipoproteins (bad cholesterol) come mainly from animal foods. There is a direct causal effect between bad cholesterol and heart disease. People actually have operations to get it removed from their hearts. It literaly clogs the heart.
Good cholesterol is found in vegetable oils and fish. - teadrinker, on 11/13/2007, -1/+4I am calling this half-nonsense with the agenda.
Some of those, such as heartburn and allergy are diseases and not side effects. The yeast infection one seems like it was completely made up. And no matter what the side effect listed, the trans fats are to blame for it. Do you know that the diet high in trans fat will make your fingernails brittle?
There are some decent ones on that list: Kidney stones and water retention are clear side effects, that are dependent on the food you eat. Cholesterol and headaches are not bad either, although I think they are not as bad as the article makes them to be.
Basically, if it hurts you, avoid that food. There is a reason why I do not eat certain foods on an empty stomach - I get bloody vomit if I eat them (seems that certain acids dissolve my stomach lining rather quickly). Does it mean that everyone will suffer if they eat that food - no. It just means I have a bad reaction to it, while you may have no problems. - TheUngod, on 11/13/2007, -0/+3Combine with Beets for satisfying purple bowel movement
- GoatMonkey2112, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3You're thinking of Taco Hell. Chipotle is awesome.
- emjaymj, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Drink a LOT of water. I can tell you from experience you definitely want to do everything you can to avoid one.
- TimmyGUNZ, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Very few things scare me in life more than ever having to pass a kidney stone. *Shiver*
- Rev0lver, on 11/13/2007, -1/+3No one is denying the awesomeness of Chipotle. My colon just begs to differ.
- GoatMonkey2112, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2It also causes pregnancy. There's a helluva side effect.
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2I can vouch for one thing on the list. Beer has indeed caused lots of headaches for me.
- vampiregirl, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Pineapple has the great side effect of making sexual juices sweet and tasty.
- TridenTBoy, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Just eat some vegetables, that simple.
- canadianehme, on 11/13/2007, -1/+3Everything in moderation!
- Udog, on 11/14/2007, -2/+4This article reads a bit like a 'why you should be a vegetarian' piece, as almost everything mentioned is caused by red meat or animal products.
- zigspective, on 11/13/2007, -1/+3All of these, don't eat this, eat this, are crazy. It's actually really freaking simple. I know no one wants to hear it, but it's moderation.

- cmw72, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2OK! Stop DOT's!
- kriminalintent, on 11/13/2007, -1/+3Beer can cause headaches? (sarcasm) REALLY?
- CedEx, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Combine with Corn for the Oh Henry! chocolate bar look.
- hardcrocodile, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Coconut oil is very bad for you because it is high in saturated fats...
"Coconut oil is a fat consisting of about 90% saturated fat. The oil contains predominantly medium chain triglycerides,[1] with roughly 92% saturated fatty acids, 6% monounsaturated fatty acids, and 2% polyunsaturated fatty acids. Of the saturated fatty acids, coconut oil is primarily 44.6% lauric acid, 16.8% myristic acid and 8.2% palmitic acid, although it contains seven different saturated fatty acids in total. Its only monounsaturated fatty acid is oleic acid while its only polyunsaturated fatty acid is linoleic acid."
"The American Heart Association recommends that individuals reduce their consumption of saturated fats, including those found in coconut oil, to less than 7% of one's caloric intake."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coconut_oil - inactive, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Well, that's because almost everything mentioned is caused by red meat or animal products. People eat way too much meat. It's like everything, eat too much of it and it's bad for you.
Meat is an important part of nutrition, but your actual "meat needs" are very small. Eating meat and meat products at every single meal is bad for you. - emjaymj, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2It says it has a negative influence on body odor. When your kid is hanging around others that are negatively influencing him, it means it's an UNWANTED influence. If it had used the words such as relationship, correlation, or association, then you'd have a point, but it didn't.
- smackhero, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1eating foods you are allergic to causes an allergic reaction. what is so confusing here?
- mahdaeng, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Learn to live off of aromas.
:^) - smackhero, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1same here. hangovers are believed to be caused by hypoglycemia, dehydration, acetaldehyde intoxication, and vitamin B12 deficiency, but that's not likely to be the cause of the immediate headaches received by some people after consuming just one or two beers.
- mahdaeng, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Habaneros are the ones that get me. I love the flavor but I always have to pay for it.

http://www.bluedune.net - openedge1, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Moderation, Chemical Removal from your diet (MSG, Hydrogenated Fats, Hydrolyzed this and that), More Omega 3's, Good Cholesterol's (Fish, Olive Oil), less fast food and restaurants...No Smoking, No Drugs...
I mean...all no brainers, and overall life will be good..(and ya wont get FAT either)
Cheers! - ricksite, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1I think teadrinker is saying that the idea of eating yeast causes yeast infection is made up. I agree.
- goatomatic, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2"Then my inner-brain kicks in..."
as opposed to your outer-brain? - smackhero, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1my friend had kidney stones in high school, and one of the reasons his doctor suspected that he'd developed them was because he drank soda constantly. so that might be something to try and avoid.
- jiveturkeyblues, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1i haven't eaten any of the bad foods (except the allergens; which i'm not allergic to) they've mentioned in years. and i am doing quite well..
- smackhero, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1do you even know what a chemical is?
- mahdaeng, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1The restaurant or the chile?
- firechill, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1It's true. Google it.
- mszlatka, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1http://groups.msn.com/purchase-phentermine/ good group to visit.
- derek20cali, on 11/15/2007, -1/+2You need to go back to medical school. What is it about the internet that attracts these "alternative theory" type people?
http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/heart/chol/ ... - openedge1, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1No...he is right...that specific pepper is murder...I can eat Red Hot sauce, Jalapeno's...but, man oh man, just found some chipotle to cook with...added it to some organic chili I had (I am on the get rid of animal fat diet), and holy crow...the pain was awful...
Now, if it gets cut (say with Mayo or oil), it works better...but, it sure is hard to cook with.. - GoatMonkey2112, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1It's confusing because it's extremely obvious, but it's on a list of things "you may not know".
- AceLy, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1It is in very trace amounts -- I learned in my nutritional science course.
- nertzy, on 12/14/2007, -0/+1That picture is of me!
- MunkeeBoy, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1What's a vegetable?
- hollismb, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1I'm pretty sure anyone who's ever eaten asparagus knows that. It's a fairly quick result, after all.
- emjaymj, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1It's not... there's obviously a different reason.
- firechill, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2So pretty much everything I love is bad for me.
- smackhero, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1wow, way to take the list out of context. the list isn't called "List of Foods You Shouldn't Eat." the article is simply informing people what side-effects various foods can cause or might contribute to. if you're not allergic to peanuts, milk, tree nuts, etc. why would you stop eating them just because it's listed? likewise, unless you're combating a B.O. problem there's no reason to stop eating meat--even if you are, you can simply try cutting back.
this is a rather informative article if you actually have passable reading comprehension skills. -
