- Julikaefer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think the article is very Windows-centric. With many other operating systems you could take full advantage of AMD64-processors nearly directly after their release.
- CJHtxGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree; the G5s and now the Core Duos are good examples of 64bit cpus being put to use, especially where it can be the most effective; rendering. I have a friend who has an amd64 and doesnt run windows 64bit,,, just kinda lets half its brain sit at idle ::sigh::, vista should require 64bit, but next comp I buy will probally be a macbook, so.... (last mac I bought was the first edition of g4 powermacs.. i still use my 400mhz g4 as a music server/accessory to my ipod)
- LemmingJesus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I played it safe and used Win 32 bit. Maybe "safe" isn't the best word with Windows...
- CrazyNic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hate having 64-bit CUP and nothing to use it on...it's like drivng a sports car...all that power, and no where to use it
