- scooper86, on 10/11/2007, -6/+495my laptop of course and then maybe my girlfriend
- TheFinestShadow, on 10/11/2007, -19/+454I agree with this image. I've wasted so many hours of my life in front of uTorrent getting all that porn, and I'm not gonna have it destroyed by some stupid fire!

:P a man's got to have his priorities... - knute5, on 10/11/2007, -2/+172During the Northridge Quake in '94, I awoke to the shaking and my first thought (before wife and kids) was to make sure my new 21" Trinitron monitor had not tumbled over and broken. So I did run to my computer, but ran back out before my wife came out of the baby's room. I felt dirty...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -21/+169wait. wait. wait.
they have the internet on computers now? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+114Save your girlfriend. Chances are you won't get another one.
- MikeonTV, on 10/11/2007, -6/+103Of course it the tower. What has the most value? I'm not risking my Digg.com cookie for anything
- fcmk, on 10/11/2007, -10/+102I would save my lizard. ***** the computer, can't let my pet die. There's a chance that the data from the hdds can be restored and my insurance will cover up rest of the stuff.
- loper, on 10/11/2007, -1/+92I'd probably start throwing stuff from the backyard INTO the house so I can get new shiny stuff from the insurance...lawnmower, motorcycle...
- codyman, on 10/11/2007, -2/+92This seems to be an advertisement for backup software...
Which everyone should of course do.. If I lost my music files I would probably go on a rampage... - Lister169, on 10/11/2007, -0/+90If your girlfriend isn't saving the TV what good is she?
- Dichotomic, on 10/11/2007, -2/+91There's clones of her all over the place; they keep them on special reservations called "colleges".
- Elliuotatar, on 10/11/2007, -1/+78You can make another baby for free, but those monitors cost money!
- cloudyprison, on 10/11/2007, -3/+75Fiance and the cat. Porn can be re downloaded.
- judicar, on 10/11/2007, -2/+69I count that man as a brother.
- bonlebon, on 10/11/2007, -12/+74As a fireman I'd say:
Throw the computer, will catch it down here.
Later on, the computer will nowhere to be found :). - Fascist, on 10/11/2007, -8/+70I have mine burned to DVDs. The poor guy should try that sometime.
- ccanni1028, on 10/11/2007, -8/+69Girlfriend first, then laptop. You (should) have a remote backup of the laptop and I doubt you have a clone of her somewhere.
- VMark, on 10/11/2007, -17/+77You know what's better than porn? The real thing! Try it sometime, Digg.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+64Porn. And I'm not talking porn that can be re-downloaded.. i'm talking porn pics and videos I took of me with several ex-girlfriends.
That's probably the only data that I have religiously backed up. - OrangeTide, on 10/11/2007, -0/+56you can make new porn with the fiance .. or the cat.
- worthone, on 10/11/2007, -3/+57Dugg for being the most humane person here.
- Azadre, on 10/11/2007, -0/+53I don't know about the rest of you, but my girlfriend would be smart enought to escape during a fire. Hell, she'd even grab a few of my things.
- qwertylicious, on 10/11/2007, -1/+52Pics or it didn't happen....
- nikkesen, on 10/11/2007, -1/+51Can't she save herself? ;)
- scottauth, on 10/11/2007, -2/+50I would probably just grab my external harddrive, because all of my data and music is backed up on there. However, I would try to grab as much of my record (cd/vinyl) collection as possible and start tossing it out the window! That'll be quite the feat with a collection of about 1,000.
I would be so devastated to lose that. All of my other material possessions could be replaced, but my record collection is my life. - david050, on 10/11/2007, -1/+49you win one free internet!
- TheCasablancan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+46A few years ago I did lose all of my music files. My little sister thought it wise to use my laptop (then, my only computer) by a pool. She got up and accidental kicked it in.
I know it sounds silly, but I went into a mild depression after loosing several gigs of mp3s. That was my life savings in music. I recovered about 1/3 of it from CDs that I owned, but I'll never get it all back. Especially not the rare ones. - effward, on 10/11/2007, -6/+48Since my hard drives are on a rail system, I think I would just slide out both of my harddrives, then run out with them. Then since my computer is insured, I would get a new computer, and I could just put my hard drives into it. :D
- OandA, on 10/11/2007, -0/+42the kidnapped girl is not ur girlfriend.
- patientXero, on 10/11/2007, -6/+47Laptop. That and my Strat.
- tensvb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+39Dude, share it in a P2P network and it will never be lost.
- jrowa, on 10/11/2007, -1/+40I laughed out loud at the photo!
And for me...it seriously would definelty be my computer
Hours of design work and very important documents/materials for work
Infact typing the above has just made me realise i need to backup immediately.... meaning tomorrow
Hope i dont leave the chip pan on tonight. - tylerjames, on 10/11/2007, -5/+42so he can carry a pile of DVDs out instead?
- TiKoZ, on 10/11/2007, -0/+34Or you can "share" ;)
- beamz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+33You can replace the fire extinguisher pretty easily so I'd disagree. Sorry, I know that's not what you meant but I couldn't resist.
- rejoined, on 10/11/2007, -3/+34Stop making that lame ass of a joke. It's not funny any more.
@newyawker - Krhis, on 10/11/2007, -1/+32I was going to say my external HDD. Everything is backed up with rsync every hour. And I mean *everything*. ^^
Though I do have a fire extinguisher sitting right here... grabbing that might be a bright idea. - striker1211, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31porn producer eh?
- noreturn, on 10/11/2007, -2/+31I can has a secks tape?

- b3mus3d, on 10/11/2007, -2/+30*the digg community as a whole goes out and gets laid*
- brasso, on 10/11/2007, -0/+28I feel for you, that was a really good monitor for the time! I was using a 19" CRT until early 2007 so i know...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+29yes?
- techmonkey4u, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27scooper86's girlfriend's name is Christopher Demicoli?
- Flamekebab, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27Dude, limewire is utter *****.
Furthermore, I'm not going to find my artwork, my university documents or other stuff created by me on there. - chepnut, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27I had the same thing happen to me, it was a 300 gig HD, with rare vinyl tracks that I ripped, and music I was working on. And yes I did go into a depression for about 2 weeks. I would be driving and then remember something else that was on the drive, and couldn't believe it was gone. Now I am back up religious
