"man our other roomie is such a nerd" "yeah for real"
there ya go. i just saved you money - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"CP-1 keeps on transmitting until PC is switched on. Once you switch off the PC, CP-1 stops working."
Wait. Doesn't that mean it doesn't work at all? - celchu33, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Actual Site Link:
http://www.endoacustica.com/english/details_cp_1_en.htm - siglesias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Muhahahahahah. Now I'll have a general idea of what my roommates are up to when they break into my room. Who'd ever guess the mic was in the mouse?
Where do I order? - Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6wow.. you link us to a blog that links to another blog that finally links to the source.
- awfulshot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6il wait for the model with a webcam in it
- t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Remember the IT Crowd - the boss tries to operate the voice recognition and speaks into the mouse. Perhaps if he had one of these?
- zoto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Except, correct me if I am wrong, you need to use the computer to record the audio. If you are going to go through the trouble of installing the audio capturing software, why not just install a key logger.
- jopapa1267, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3hahah, thats so messed up.
- ronaldpoi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3hey, a microphone there could be really really useful... gives me a few ideas...
- zweben, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Sorta cool... what would be much cooler is if someone modded a regular mouse to do this.
Anyone? - Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's too distinctive looking; anyone who has read this story will immediately identify it.
They should have made it much more generic-looking. - reqage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Anyone remember that acoustic key-logger program developed at Berkley? This mouse and that software would be very compromising.
- ehrichweiss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3if your roommates are breaking into your room, you need a webcam operational AND highly visible, uploading images/sound to an off-site server...not a hidden microphone in a mouse. You want your security to be a deterrent as well as something to collect info for you; there is a reason they don't hide ALL security cameras afterall..you want people to know you are watching them.
- izzyb412, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That is scandalous.
- Pentarix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's has got to be the most confusing line ever...
- Yankees368, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4woah, creapy
- spy1325, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2webcam wouldn't do much good, you could see thier palm.. you might as well just set up a webcam to boadcast a stream, and have a regular microphone and stream the audio as well... this is just kind of silly
- sader1264, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yes there is in fact one like that.... It comes out next week watch digg for the website
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Portuguese / Brazilian : http://www.htk.com.br/noticia.php?noticia=339

http://www.htk.com.br/ - Yankees368, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7there is no webcam
- Dabisu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, I thought the same thing, it sounds like it doesn't do anything.
- Blizzardman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What would the microphone do... Unless the person screwing around on your comp likes to talk to themselves while they are doing it, without a webcame this thing is pointless.
- NewEvolution, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Agreeing with the "too distinctive" crowd. This thing just looks odd. If you want to make a mouse to spy on people, it has to look like it's NOT spying on people. While this doesn't scream "I can hear you!" it sure as hell doesn't look like any normal mouse.
Great idea, bad execution. - skylarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Its not just "too distinctive." The thing is ugly.
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You think they would've rather come up with something to take screenshots of the desktop and keylog the comp ._.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yup. Now you really can talk into your mouse!
- Chakz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That was said 48 minutes before you.
- karamba_kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wonder why the cable look so strange?
- bluekangaroo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Scotty tried to use a mouse as a microphone in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home saying "Hello computer!" .....
- Yashar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1not like we have ears or anything....
- AstroSnail, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I saw this too; maybe it only works once! :-)
- Smeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If I ever got a new job, and found that thing on my desk I would toss it in the trash. It looks like a piece of *****.
- zoto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2or *do* you?
- naisanza, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2what next? a camera in the mouse than can shoot laser?
- ericeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1People are coming up with the strangest complaints...
it may be ugly but who's going to look at it and say "that looks very suspicious."
Also, on the topic of hidden security- i think it works either way. If you out to frame someone make it hidden, if you are keeping someone from doing something than keep it out in the open. Either way you help solve your security problems. - teaguehopkins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think the idea is that you can listen to conversations that happen in the same room as the computer, not keep an eye on what people are doing with the computer. There are already plenty of ways to do that.
- jguerry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah cause i always talk to my computer...
- nayr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3CP-1 keeps on transmitting until PC is switched on. Once you switch off the PC, CP-1 stops working.”
doesn't that mean that it never transmitts/works? - Agret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1rofl
- samstr, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Surely it would just film your hand if youre using the mouse at the time.
