crn.com — 80 cores? Seems like Sci-Fi at this point. However, Intel R&D department current has an 80-core CPU. Intel says the CPU could hit the market in as little as 5 years. The biggest drawback is current software design. Many programs don't even take advantage of 2 cores, noneheless 80. However, once they are, the power of this CPU will be mind blowing.
