Stackable USB standard aims at embedded apps

linuxdevices.com — A newly proposed stackable system architecture utilizes USB as a low-end I/O bus for use in compact, rugged, embedded systems. StackableUSB is touted as a low-cost replacement for the nearly-extinct ISA bus, and is seen as a life extension to PC/104 and other embedded system standards that depend on the ISA bus.
