Review: Cell Phone Jammer - Drop All Cell Phone Calls 30+ feet around you
autothing.com — Just bought one of these things, expensive but hilarious. It actually works. I love following people around and driving them nuts. Great for the airplane after you land or I just leave it on when at a restaurant.

- catullus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9that would seem to really make you an *****
- MLyzz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0you hit it on the head, i am an *****!
- catullus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0k.
- RomeyRome, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I'd have a crackhead shank you...
- MLyzz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1haha, these people don't even know I am doing it. Besides, when I am in a plane and someone is yapping away too loud, who is being more rude, me jamming or him bugging everyone else around?
- monolith, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0uh... great... I think...
- RomeyRome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Unless it's your plane, it's none of your business.
- MLyzz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1you are right, and I don't want to hear anything thats not my buisness.
- RomeyRome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't get how it's any different than 2 people carrying on a conversation? You still hear ***** that aint your business...You wanna taiser them?
I'm curious how you get that thing on the plane in the first place. It'll be funny when it jams something else on the plane besides the phones. - catullus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4it will be funny when MLyzz gets shot and someone's trying to call 911 and some kid is using one of these things. i'll digg that story when the time comes
- andrebsd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0"these people don't even know I am doing it."
Oh yeah, well we do now... and I would promtly report you in a second flat if I saw you. I don't make voice calls, I use GPRS for all my communcation. So what I'm doing is perfectly legal and doesn't bug anyone. What you do isn't legal (within the united states at least)
Incase your wondering how I would find you? You have a picture on your profile... It's kind of dumb to do illegal things (at least within united states) and post your picture along with a message saying what you do. I could just forward this message and your picture right now if I wanted and you would probibly get alot of crap next time you fly within or to/from the united states. - dmdx86, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2oh please. stop being a moron. no one is going to get questioned over a post saying they use cell phone jammers. the only crap that he is getting is the crap flying out of your mouth!
please report me to the FCC/FBI/DHS/CIA cuz I'm gonna buy one of these for the morons in college who leave their phones on during lecture. ps there isnt a damn thing you can do about it. i fart in your general direction. - MLyzz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0hahahahahahahahahah, yeah its illegal. I would like to see you call a police officer over and have you try to explain to the idiot what it is. Good luck. Or, you could just call the FCC directly and see if they give two ***** about it.
@ RomeyRome:
it's spelled 'taser', not 'taiser'. And, its not a taser, its a JAMMER, just like described in the link. it jams phones, as in it makes them drop their signals instantly. - andrebsd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0MLyzz: I most certainly will be contacting the FCC, I have done it once before and yes; they did care. They actualy ended up questioning the person and what not, I knew this simply because it was a student doing the jamming at one of the schools I work at for tech support. He was missing for a while, later came back to tell me "thanks"; he knew I was the one that said something.
- MLyzz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Ok, have a great time. I will let you know what they say when they don't call.
- MrC539, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Dugg because of the picture of the guy with a cell phone rubber banded to his head. http://www.autothing.com/images/Fun%20Things/Tech%20Things/Cell%20Phone%20Jammer/Pic-Anti-Cell-Glued2Head.jpg
- cvrti5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I kope this won't become the latest craze. Although it seems fun to jam cellphones, I hope your ass gets caught. Next invention - the cellphone jammer detector.
- diggenerate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I thought that it was illegal to use your cell when on an airplane -- a bit off topic
- dmdx86, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yeah call the FCC.
If they come to my place: "I have nothing to say, goodbye!"
The FCC doesn't waste their time with ***** they can't enforce, especially based on some retarded "he said he had a sellfone jammer OMG!11!1 i'm mad" - dmdx86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would only advise using a jammer in places where cellular telephone usage is highly annoying and socially unacceptable.. i.e. a resturant, movie theatre, classroom, etc. Maybe when some retard on the road isn't paying attention because of his conversation too.
Otherwise, I think it would be best to leave people alone. However, in these situations, it is rather difficult to get caught or for the FCC to do anything about it. If you're running it 24/7 out of your apartment and telling everyone about it, then you do deserve to get caught and it would be much easier to find the source of the interference to implicate you criminally.
Everyone loves to huff and puff indignatly on the Internet. The FCC can't do anything more than try to question you (and you can refuse to talk to them) and try to take signal readings outside your residence.
andrebsd you are just wasting your time. - dmdx86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I should also add that its not smart to go posting online that you're doing illegal things with personally identifyable information.
- MLyzz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0HAHAHHA, no, i only use it when someone is pissing me off. and i dont use it at my home. its portable, so i use it when i see fit.
- schwit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Using a cell phone anywhere you want is not a right. On your property or outdoors in a public environment is ok, but in a restaurant or theater is not. Whilst operating a motor vehicle you have a legal right, but statistics say you are as dangerous as a drunk driver.
If cell phone users don't regulate themselves you will have MLyzz and others like him take matters into their own hands, legal or not. Your call. - TheWalkingDude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I digg it. Last I read, these were illegal to use in the US, although I wish they were not. I always wanted one of these as a clerk - people on mobile phones slowed down the line and annoyed the ***** out of those around them, adding to the collective anger. Are phone calls in high traffic public places really necessary, or is it just part of ones personal propaganda (part of a desired image)?
Take the power back. - catullus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0well, maybe they ARE a big important person and you are not.
- BlueStarr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0YES!!! Thank you god for this product.
When riding the subway in NY having just one cell with their signals bouncing all over the place in that metal canister can be quite dangerous. Now imagine four or five of these things all sending and receiving signals on the typical hour commute.
I'm sending one of these to my father who still lives in N.Y.C. - chaosbuddha, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0if you think thats fun you should make a HERF gun, now those are fun
- EmileVictor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Dude, CINEMAS.
- JeffH, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0If I could afford one, I would get one. You have no idea how annoying it is with all these retards in the theaters "texting" and sometimes even MAKING CALL THEMSELVES in the middle of movies. ***** them.
- jacko7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"(so don't chase strangers on cell phones like we did at the Chicago Auto Show -- though it was fun)"
hahahaha - Wilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Meh.
- natemc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0OMG it will be so funnah when someone dies because they couldn't dial 911 becauz of a jamm3r111!!!ELEVENTY!!
People that buy these things must have more money than sense. If they keep selling then yes someone in the future will probably die as a result of one of these machines that either purposefully or accidentally gets left on. - Brewno, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"Using a cell phone anywhere you want is not a right. Using a cell phone blocker anywhere you want is not a right either. - mrgeekguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wonder what the TSA would think about it.
- greed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Im so getting one of these !!! i absolutely can not stand people on their cell phones, especially when they stick in a little ear device so they are looking at you talking and you respond and they say Oh im on my phone. Also the pricks in class who always let their cells ring durring lectures,,, so annoying
- SniperGX1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Its kinda an ***** thing to do to jam someones call. Just be a man, walk up to them and punch them in the dick then smash their phone.
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"When riding the subway in NY having just one cell with their signals bouncing all over the place in that metal canister can be quite dangerous."
You should start wearing a tin foil hat then. - spectre_25gt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You're right schwit. I don't have an explicit right to make phone calls inside of a restaurant or a theatre. It's up to the business owner to decide whether I should or should not be able to make the call, though, not you or anyone else with enough expendable money for one of these pieces of crap.
I really don't see what the big deal is anyway. Even in a restaurant if someones talking at a reasonable volume why the hell is it a problem? It's no different to others than speaking with another guest at the table.
Why do some people just have to go out of their way to look for trouble? - Rice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I like it. Stupid people who want to infringe on my right to... think clearly in public.
- gader, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Very cool. Dugg
- Slipdisc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0prick
- ravenmuffin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Over 100,000 emergency calls are made each day from cell phones.
Anyone caught manufacturing, selling, owning, or using a jammer in the U.S. is punishable by an $11,000 fine and up to a year in prison for each offense." - D14BL0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This seems like it could be illegal. What if somebody's calling 911 within your range, and you cut them off, and poor Billy dies because you decided to be a dick and disconnect his sell phone?
If I ever run across somebody using one of these, I will make an effort to bust their nose.
Or at least give them mean looks from across the room. - highwebl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OMFG
I don't have a cell phone. I'm going to die. - Misos, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Yeah, being a dick is great. *****.
- syowr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"OMG it will be so funnah when someone dies because they couldn't dial 911 becauz of a jamm3r111!!!ELEVENTY!!"
You do know that it has an off switch right? If there is an emergency where someone needs to dial 9-1-1 I would think most poeple would turn a jammer off... DUH! What an idiotic argument to use to defend your need to force your bad manners and bad driving on others. - D14BL0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0syowr, ever consider that the guy using the jammer is obvlivious to the fact that somebody may be calling 911?
- Genericity, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I like it - I would use it - I would buy it!
All the people that don't mind others being total asses on their phones at inappropriate times and at louder than needed volumes are simply pushovers to begin with. It is called common courtesy, I exhibit it and others should as well. Cell phone jammers will ensure this. =) - Mike_N, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If criminals start carrying these around with them, it could be a real problem... The website that sells them is in the UK and it even says that this device is illegal in the UK.
- syowr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1RTFA. Its got a 30 foot range. If you don't know that an emergency is happening within 30 feet of you ... well thats just being oblivious. And no telling martha about all the cool crap you just bought on sale is NOT an emergency.
