- Velaru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4DX10 is tied into Vista. not many big games announced with DX10 as a show stopping feature. As of now DX10 is be Vista only. most companies wont fully adopt it for a year or so after vista is out and has market share over 95/98/2k/XP
- mikedaul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4foolfromhell - typically when reviewing a video card, you want to use the fastest cpu available to (at least in theory) remove the cpu from the equation, and thus focus solely on the gpu performance.
- evoix9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Extreme Tech also has a review of this product if anyone likes their reviews better like I do.

- z.unit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Kyle didn't submit this numbnuts he just dugg it.
- karafias, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4The fanbois can't seem to decide wether [H] is ATI or nvidia biased, Maybe [H] are just mature people that don't feel the need to be foolishly biased against one product - but will call a company out when they feel it is needed?
Honestly, I doubt adults that run a professional site are some hardcore ati/nvidia fanbois... have any of you fanbois stopped and thought about just how silly bias toward one particular company is? Not like they really care about you in return, they just want your cash... - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Except the X1900XT has been selling for over retail and generally unavailable, right?
- vexter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I stopped going to hard after 7 devoted years when they started useing the text advertising. I spent thousands of dollars using advertising links on hardocp. But not anymore... Adandtech is another site that lost my clicks. As are a few others. TOO HELL WITH TEXT ADS!!!
- IOIIOOO, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My 6800GT crapped out on me right as this card was released so I ordered one online. It has worked great so far. I haven't noticed any heat issues (though I honestly don't do a lot of gaming on this machine - I bought it more to drive dual DVI high-res screens effectively), but testing it with some games didn't cause an problems either.
I was very skeptical about the fanless cooling, but it's been great having one less thing making noise in my PC. - foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not true. nVidia's 8-series is gonna be DX10 i think, i heard it somewhere. same with ATi's 2k or whatever group. They are in the 1950/ 7950 because they are holding out for DX10 on their 8-seires and 2k-series cards
- masterren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Information on temps is in the article (page 12):
"We looked at the idle and full load GPU temperatures compared to the Radeon X1900 XT 256MB video card. The XFX GeForce 7950 GT 570M Extreme idles at 47c GPU temperature. The ATI Radeon X1900 XT 256MB idles at 53c. Therefore the X1900 XT is six degrees hotter just idling.
At full load the XFX GeForce 7950 GT recorded a temp of 78c, the Radeon X1900 XT at full load was 88c. That is an entire 10 degree difference with the passively cooled video card actually chiming in with cooler temperatures on idle and full load." - lykathea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That card looks so damn cool... but it probably runs really hot.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hope you have a full atx case, looks like it takes up alot of room
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3They arent biased, but why dont these companies do tests with affordable parts? Like Core 2 Duo 6600 or something? Not everyone can afford a FX-62, so this doesnt help me much in making decisions. The Intel's architecture might perform differently, and the affordable AMD procs might behave differently. I dont like there reviewers always fitting teh computer with HIGH-END hardware when testing low-mid end components. No one would buy a 7950 GT w/ FX-62 for gaming! A 7900GTX with with a good AMD or even better intel (intel for the upper hand till K8L) with the same total price of the FX-62+7950GT would be a much better deal, and much more sensible.
- HEXXEN9x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the clocking issue is no prob for me,i have 2 120mm's silent fans and 2 80mm's fans everything els is passive cooling but the cpu of course max dbs are a silent 25 dbs.
- junesix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Not at all. Retail for the ATI brand is $280 while Newegg has the Sapphire brand in stock at $240.

A name so long, it's almost comical. - 0v3rk1ll, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Why does this ***** site still get to the front page? This is ***** spam. Frgmeister or whatever you call yourself, piss off.
- diggonit, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3softOCP now = digg mirror/AMD-ATI fanboy site. I still like them though.
- mikedaul, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0[wrong post]
- R0gue, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Very good read even though it gives the nod to ATI :p:
- DaVisionz, on 10/12/2007, -9/+0they never have any problems giving the nod to nvidia or intel when they deserve it. but AMD/ATI always win the price to performance ratio.

What is Digg?
