- sonick, on 11/05/2007, -3/+86I like my video cards like I like my women... Cheap... and fast.
- hance, on 10/31/2007, -4/+66Wow say hello to my next video card. Cheaper than the 8800GTS and basically the same performance
- Sedako, on 10/30/2007, -3/+51The resell value of my older 8800 GTS just got destroyed. Thanks Nvidia. :/
- oderdigg, on 10/30/2007, -1/+44No, the GT is better and it's almost as good as the GTX. Very impressive.
- inactive, on 10/31/2007, -3/+44::nerdgasm:: I was going to buy an 8800 GTS 320 mb, but ***** that. GT here I come!
- inactive, on 10/31/2007, -3/+42The 8800 GT is NOT the same performance as the GTS, it is better. Look up the benchmarks if you don't believe me.
I ordered mine today, this card is the best bang for your buck right now. - hokie47, on 10/30/2007, -2/+32I like them slow so I can catch them easier when they runaway
- empraptor, on 10/30/2007, -1/+30Why yes, my motherboard is cheap and fast. Thank you for noticing.
- pumacub, on 10/31/2007, -5/+33Just like your mo--
Oh why bother... - krackajap, on 10/31/2007, -0/+25....It's only said out loud like 30 times each time you start up a game these days.
- sp1nz, on 10/31/2007, -1/+24This thing rocks. Well done, nVidia.
- Lasereth, on 10/31/2007, -2/+24This thing is incredible. It's faster than the 8800 GTS 320 AND 640. It's better than the Radeon HD 2900 XT which is $400. In many games, it rivals the 8800 GTX which is $500. Buy this card if you want the best bang for your buck. A deal like this is simply insane. A $230-$270 videocard which rivals $400-$500 cards.......
- fluxion, on 10/30/2007, -1/+22"With pricing between $199 and $249"
i guess newegg missed the memo - Ocelot13, on 10/31/2007, -2/+21en-vid-dee-ah
- wiifm69, on 10/31/2007, -1/+19creep factor 10
- norman619, on 10/30/2007, -0/+17Happy purchasing!
- inkyblue2, on 10/30/2007, -0/+15i couldn't tell from the article if these were already out or if they were still "coming soon." i just checked, and they're in stock at newegg in the $260-$300 range.
- sleeknerve, on 10/30/2007, -1/+14can someone tell me where i can get a 8800GT for 199?, i tried newegg but their cheapest was at 260
- AngryBacon, on 10/30/2007, -1/+13The $199 one only has 256mb of vram, which newegg isn't carrying yet. You're probably better off spending the extra $50.
- Sogui, on 10/30/2007, -1/+12I'm currently saving up for an 8800 GTS for my new gaming rig... the GT is the best news I've heard all week.
Any news on when it will be released? - Racerx52, on 10/30/2007, -1/+10I hear they are also releasing new (beefed up)8800gts sometime soon
- eddie72, on 10/30/2007, -0/+9Evidently you didn't try very hard then: http://shop3.outpost.com/product/5434329
$229.99
I found that in less than 3 seconds with google. - oderdigg, on 10/30/2007, -1/+9http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3140 ...
- RadonPL, on 10/30/2007, -0/+8Damnit, it is available at US$ 497 here in Poland, not $250 that you guys can buy it for!
- norman619, on 10/30/2007, -1/+9And eVGA kicks butt. Best all around vendor.
- greatcaffeine, on 10/30/2007, -1/+8How did you even figure out how to use a computer?
- CornmealMush, on 10/30/2007, -1/+8nm... guess I should finish reading the article first, lol
- code_of_life, on 10/31/2007, -0/+7If it was under 90 days you could have..... I've emailed them and they said we can upgrade for $0. No refunds.
- oderdigg, on 10/30/2007, -0/+6http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3140 ...
- Daiken, on 10/30/2007, -0/+6I already bought the 8800 GTS 320 MB :-(
- sleeknerve, on 10/30/2007, -1/+7same
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/30/2007, -0/+6It's single slot. It's smaller than the GTX and smaller than the GTS.
- zombies187, on 10/30/2007, -0/+6I like 'em old & cheap, cause that's how I roll.
- uptown, on 10/30/2007, -1/+7that's what ether is for....
- MrSteamTank, on 10/30/2007, -0/+6As a proud owner of a radeon 1600 pro I must say it was good while it lasted. RIP ATI. 8(
- sundancekid503, on 10/30/2007, -1/+7Vista users should google "nvlddmkm" before purchasing.
- kingkilr, on 10/30/2007, -0/+6That's with eVga only though.
- ZaZ2137, on 10/30/2007, -0/+5EVGA for the lifetime warrenty and step-up program
- CompIsMyRx, on 10/29/2007, -1/+5I wish they had announced this earlier. I bought an overclocked 8600GT because I didn't want to pay for the 8800GTS, but I would have bought an 8800GT if it had existed. Damn you nVidia!. I'm also waiting for the details on the AMD HD 3800 series before making a decision on any new graphics cards.
- BabyWookie, on 10/30/2007, -1/+5I like my video cards just as I like my whores - cheap and fast.
- RobbieS, on 10/30/2007, -2/+6If you are looking to grab this card at $200, just try to wait a bit (maybe a week or two). Right now, it just came out, so it's a hot commodity, but as soon as vendors get lots of cards, the price should go down pretty quickly. Especially when the 256Mb version comes out, that will drive down the 512MB one some more. So if you want to spend $200, just be a little patient.
Also, I haven't seen people point out that if you have $400, you can very realistically buy two of these cards and SLI them as a high end solution to replace the 8800GTX. Even more perf for less money. Good times to be had by all! - RobbieS, on 10/30/2007, -0/+4Check out Anandtech. They did those comparisons, and things were very favorable for the GT. Perf-wise, it scaled pretty well, and beat the GTX in most cases. Powerwise, while idle, they were within 5%, but during load, it hit +20% more power in SLI vs a single GTX. Pages 12 and 13 cover the SLI scaling and power consumption.
http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3140&p=1 ... - manicallday, on 10/30/2007, -2/+6Is this the card that can be used to break complex encryption?
- kingkilr, on 10/30/2007, -2/+5Yeah... techreport is one of the best and most ethical review sites out there.
- vagarach, on 10/30/2007, -1/+4Dunno, I'm using the beta 165 drivers and before that some older beta ones, and have never had an issue! 8600MGT, btw.
- rishdeep, on 10/30/2007, -0/+3Anyone know where to get this card from the UK? And how much it would be?
- ubergeek09, on 10/30/2007, -0/+3Actually it is for a graphics card with this good of performance.
- Daiken, on 10/30/2007, -0/+3Yep sometime in mid-late November I believe. Same with ATI.
- Sogui, on 10/30/2007, -0/+3I found it but I was a little dissapointed:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8 ... (8800GTS, $249 after rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8 ... (8800GT, $259, lowest price)
Sure the GT will end up cheaper soon, but for now it looks like I'm still saving.
It says the interface is a PCI-Express 2.0... does that mean its exclusive to 2.0 or that it can use 1.0 and 2.0? - Brianguy2000, on 10/30/2007, -0/+3cheapest i could find was on http://www.techonweb.com for $235 but they're out of stock.
