M$ won't have an interest in helping nVidia dominate the market. In fact, quite the opposite, M$ will probably help Intel and AMD gain ground just to keep nVidia in line.
Apple is also hit or miss as to weather they will play ball with nVidia's plans for GPU domination, although the OpenCL addition does show commitment to nVidia's game plane.
A strong commitment to Open Source and Linux will keep everyone on their toes while dumping a lot of dev costs for nVidia onto early adopters. In exchange, the Linux Community get the first crack at the new tech for a change, and the credibility of being the reference dev platform. - garryw, on 03/10/2009, -4/+3SLI for CPU's? Just open your computer case and find the chips sticking out of the motherboard that are about 6 inches long. Take them out of their sockets, flip them around, and jam them back in.
