- segura, on 03/12/2009, -0/+21Make the first picture the flag and the rovers . . .
- JamesWjRose, on 03/12/2009, -0/+17I believe I read that Google is going to have these images available at some point via Google Earth (like they have Mars) Though i could be wrong. Still, very geek cool.
Also is it my understanding that the Apollo landing sites will be easily seen. This, hopefully, will help disprove the sceptics that state we never landed on the moon. - pathouston22, on 03/12/2009, -3/+15BUT THEY WILL BE PHOTOSHOPPED IN!
- Memnochxx, on 03/12/2009, -2/+10So, photos provided by the government will help disprove a government conspiracy how?
- DoktorRob, on 03/12/2009, -0/+6The article mentions an Apollo Film Archiving project.
I am the guy that is scanning (at extremely high resolution) the original Apollo film.
For more info and to see what we've already done check this site out:

Share and Enjoy - Moetownslick, on 03/12/2009, -1/+7is the "amazing" part gonna be before or after they airbrush out all the alien cities on the dark side of the moon?
- Smokeydabear, on 03/12/2009, -0/+6Ever since I got my first telescope I've wanted to see the moon closer and closer.
- SuperOmegaSlack, on 03/12/2009, -0/+5Because you like dude's bare asses?
- audiblesilence, on 03/12/2009, -0/+5We will have 2 moon bases...
The first will be called "Moon Unit Alpha" the second will be called "Moon Unit Zappa" - PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/12/2009, -0/+5Very apt username you have there.
- hrpmike, on 03/12/2009, -2/+7The troofers would say it was photoshopped
- greggerm, on 03/12/2009, -1/+6Pics or it didn't...
...oh wait, it hasn't yet. - rapier, on 03/12/2009, -0/+4Just a guess, but I'm assuming he's referring to the data gaps where there are no images, so they just left the area blank when the basemaps were mosaiced. Of course when someone tries to fill in the blank areas with images from a different mission, they will claim that there are "smudged" or "obscured" sections.
- Malteserr, on 03/12/2009, -0/+4Hey your name is perfect.
- hyperionshift, on 03/12/2009, -1/+5The Moon camera? Better than Uranus, I suppose.
- JamesWjRose, on 03/12/2009, -0/+3Thank you very much for the work you are doing!
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/12/2009, -0/+3No, you're not getting a legitimate argument because it'd be wasted on a troll like you.
- inajeep, on 03/12/2009, -0/+3Looking for the monolith.
- freezejeans, on 03/12/2009, -0/+3I hope somebody gets a remote-controllable rover up there with a hi-res camera someday soon. Would be cool to roll it around the landing sites.
- GunWraith, on 03/12/2009, -0/+3Where are these so called "classified" sections? Hmm? I think I missed the blacked out areas last time I looked at a moon map.
- STKD, on 03/12/2009, -1/+4Yes yes yes, JFK 911 Roswell blah blah conspiracyblah. We get it. You're a fantasist moron. Good for you. Move along.
- Smokeydabear, on 03/12/2009, -1/+4Word.
- rapier, on 03/12/2009, -0/+3I think you mean "far side", not "dark side".. and yes, we will work just as hard as the Mars people at hiding the alien moon bases.
- doctechnical, on 03/12/2009, -1/+4Why does the phrase "Amazing moon shots" remind me of Braveheart?
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -2/+4I saw Nasa advertising on Craigslist for photshop artists - work from home!
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/12/2009, -3/+5Don't you get it??? NASA is behind the whole thing! Of course they're going to fake it!
/s (because I know it's necessary) - Namco, on 03/12/2009, -1/+3Dude, why don't we have satellites orbiting the moon yet? If Hughes has been launching satellites just to broadcast private corporate channels and HD locals, why don't we already have a secret moon base satellite taking pictures of moon rocks?
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -1/+3because they are moon rocks....
- Drizzit, on 03/12/2009, -2/+4That's no moon.
- GunWraith, on 03/12/2009, -1/+3I dug you up jsmithers. Why? Because as crazy sounding as Hoagland and others are (and as weak as some of their evidence is), I am all for encouraging out of the box thinking.
If nothing else, it's entertaining and makes you think. - Chupacabraz, on 03/12/2009, -1/+3Whatever. Hoagland is a moron. Didn't he also fan the flames of the "Face on Mars", which was also proven to be nothing more than a trick of light? There are no alien structures on Mars, or the Moon and anyone who believes there are needs to put more foil in their hat.
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -0/+1boorish, but classic. nice.
- britoca, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1APOOOOOOLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Jektal, on 03/12/2009, -1/+231 miles is far away.
- borellus, on 03/12/2009, -0/+1Cool, so we have Google Earth. Maybe we will have NASA Moon.
That was a terrible joke Google played on us all, making out that the moon was made of cheese. - floorman56, on 03/12/2009, -0/+1and that its images will take about 90 days to process
To remove "The Shard"? and " The Cube"? - GunWraith, on 03/12/2009, -1/+2I'm very much looking forward to this. I've always wanted to be able to examine other planets in more detail. Especially seeing the landing sites up close.
The best part will be that it will fuel more conspiracies. I wonder how many new "anomalies" will be discovered. I get a kick out of seeing what people can find and the explanations they come up with. It's better than some scifi novels! - Jektal, on 03/12/2009, -0/+1Thanks Moon person.
- talkingtent, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1Let us know when it happens...buried.
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -2/+3Ssshhhh. We don't talk about such things. Plus 1.5 feet per pixel is not nearly strong enough because of the moons, er, atmosphere. That and the harsh winters and summers on the moon have dissolved all traces.
- netneutrality, on 03/12/2009, -1/+1This is going to be awesome.
- williepepper, on 03/12/2009, -0/+0So we get a good look at all of the spy stuff we put up there a bunch of decades ago. Pretty cool.
- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -1/+1OMG Moon Bases!
- mattlamb, on 03/13/2009, -0/+0ya I dugg the underdugg also.
- paulsabo, on 03/12/2009, -1/+1I was my understanding that outer space couldn't be used for militaristic purposes... only peaceful scientific exploration/experimentation?
Is this no longer the case? - GunWraith, on 03/12/2009, -2/+2Heh! You should see how he thinks Iapetus is actually a death star. http://www.enterprisemission.com/moon1.htm
I've got to give Hoagland credit though, he does a great job of finding fascinating geographical anomalies. His work helps fuel the research into how they are created by nature (much to his dismay). - JamesWjRose, on 03/12/2009, -1/+1Ok, fair point.
Though I think the idea of this as a consipiracy is, well, quite laughable. But hey, I've been wrong before. - infectthefrets, on 03/12/2009, -2/+1HAHAHHAHAHAHA!
yes. - meninostongue, on 03/12/2009, -1/+0It is to find a good location for a moon base. So, yeah, your last part about a moon base being next is probably correct.
