- nubious, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32How many times are we going to hear this argument?
- chithon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22It is getting really really old.
People like what they like.
GET OVER IT! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Asking this question since 1984.
- WalterDirt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Not till every starving African child owns a Mac and an iPod.
But really, this argument is so tired. - jediboytj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10make it stop.... please. no one cares.
/coming from an mac user. - Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It's refreshing to see someone else saying that in the end it's just a matter of preference.
- punkrockxtian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The world would be such a better place with people like you.
- OmegaNine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4untill we stop digging it.
- punkrockxtian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Untill your eyes or ears begin to bleed
- iie.wakarimasen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3man why do people keep submitting these retarded stories. and just as important, why do people keep digging them. what because ZOMG APPLE JUST GOT PWNED IN A DISCUSSION! or, OMG THEY FINALLY REALIZE MAC IS BETTER!.
"People like what they like." chithon said it well.
this article should have a label [reported by diggers as possibly inaccurate] - inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3When we're done discussing this can we nail down this whole Star Wars vs. Star Trek thing as well?
- mlkmnz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Who cares? They're both just OSes, its the apps within that hold the value, not the framework that they run under.
- spytromics, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The author's entire premise is incorrect. Applications, not operating systems, are the reasons people buy computers. Many applications such as MS Office and Photoshop are available for both OSX and Windows. If you need to run a Mac-only application like Aperture or Final Cut Pro, then you need a Mac. If you need to run Windows-only applications, then you'll use Windows. It just depends on what your own personal "killer app" is.
This is also a contributing factor to the lack of success of Linux on the desktop. Linux is hurt because it cannot natively run MS Office, Photoshop, or iTunes.
I can already predict the first "Use OO, Gimp, and put Linux on your iPod" response. Yes, that will work. But it is an alternative solution. It's not the real thing. It's like buying store-brand cola instead of Coke. - meatmcguffin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I love it. :)
A fair comparison between the 2 OSs and there are not valid anti-mac points that could be posted, so the next best thing is "Gosh, who cares !" till the next Pro-MS story where we'll hear "Gosh, MS is so good, it makes me a better person !" from the same people. :D
I suggest 'the cycle of hypocrisy.' - starmanjones, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4this mac guy is selecting the lame button.
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I love it. :)
A fair comparison between the 2 OSs and there are not valid anti-Windows that could be posted, so the next best thing is "Gosh, who cares !" till the next Pro-Mac story where we'll hear "Gosh, Apple is so good, it makes me a better person !" from the same people. :D
We need to label this cycle.. someone think of something catchy. :D - oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7YOU'RE STEALING FROM US !!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im589uTchKs&mode=related&search= - dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Exactly, whats best is which you prefer.. A Mac is crap if what your used to is Windows, Windows is crap if what your used to is OS X. Thats it, simple..
- Ben - wolver1ne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Damn, useless has just got a new meaning. Write a multi-pages article and then conclude that it's a matter of a personal preference. Geez, just say it right away and you are done... No wait, but then the value of the article will not be degraded as noone will be sitting for half an hour reading all that mumbo jumbo.
All Apple vs Peers articles are bogus or subject of bias. End of story. - jumba911, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is stupid. People have been talking about this so much. I think you should just get what you want and shut up.
- K-Flow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4yeah and apple stole from xerox oh god
- Crackshot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Does anyone remember when you could go to Digg and see only a small amount of flame bait ***** speckled throughout the top stories..........................................well I can't either but you can imagine what it would be like if it were.
Now that we've kicked, punched, bludgeoned, butchered, cooked, eaten, vommited up, and thrown away this dead horse let's just chalk it up to being an overly tired subject - Vermifax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I truly dread this posting.
I just don't have the energy for this flame bait. - inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1But a better framework can make creating better apps a lot easier.
- friend18, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"The point is implied that the Mac talks to an external device like a camera," Scariati said, "and that the PC can't."
I don't think it was saying PC's can't connect with camera's. It was saying connecting external devices are much easier and simpler on a Mac. - oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i'm not implying that mac is better then windows, i just thought this was a hilarious clip.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3All the PC fanboys care...that's why they continue to mod down Mac users...
Now that they have established the Intel Mac...now it's all about Intel vs AMD
and the new fanboys are of AMD - DareickForReal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In the words of an American hero "screw you guys, i'm going home."
- dmoney06, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@ apzdsx
There is one MAJOR thing that you can do with PC's on top of playing games that mac's can't do. That would obviously be getting viruses (yes, for now anyways). I'd happily give up games for a virus free environment, but since OS X can play games, and run windows I think I've done just that. - chiptinder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1finally someone came to the only rational conclusion..
- Rixta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Boooring...............
- roebuck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I prefer the TI-99/4A! Even windows 3.1 is too new-fangled for me!
- mannymix03, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh come on, who else is going to write an article about this... ITS AN AD!, it doesnt have to be 100% correct. There are Ads out there that say you should drink coke, so are we going to dissect the ad and prove why pepsi tastes better?
- silverwolf016, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ok this is just asking for trouble...
- bjowoods, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Oh god. Let's get out the hoses... the flames are coming.
- cypher543, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's only a matter of time before a Linux user comes in here and adds to the fire. Honestly, nobody cares which one is better. People use what they are comfortable with. Grow up and get on with your life. There are a million others things you could be doing instead of posting crap articles like this.
- jdonner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0...and Windows has close to 100% market share in the desktop market, so what's your point? (rolling eyes, yawning)
- cypher543, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2PC users tend to mod down Mac users becuase Mac users are usually bashing PCs.
- punkrockxtian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Oh! I don't think they've arrived yet.
- falcon1, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4"According to the sites final score it's just a matter of personal preferences."
Gee, who would have thought that?
/sarcasm - radiofrequency, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1The Mac is a better operating system. Windows has more third-party support.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Its quite interesting that its ONLY EVER mac owners/lovers/fanboys that feel the need to do these useless comparisons, and how they never perform a truely fair comparison, instead adding in ***** like 2 yearly geeksquad visits, and omitting the cost of an XP license for the mac for it to be able to run XP software etc.
One could be forgiven to think that the mac fans (or at least the obsessive ones) crave the opportunity to make themselves feel better about their expensive, sometimes even irrational apple purchases when other non-apple alternatives would be cheaper, faster, more upgradable etc etc etc. - Qwfwq, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Don't you mean til every starving African child has manufactured a Mac and an iPod.
- K-Flow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0i just like how they portray steve jobs as the more cooler and more powerful guy in it
- roebuck, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4i think coke is better than pepsi!
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -11/+6Everyone needs to digg this down as Duplicate Story.
- seth88j, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1***** this,no digg!!! I use both, and they are both good for different things both very functional, they are both good get over this.
Peace and ummmmmmmmmm sorry for my ummmmmmmm bad language? - apzdsx, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1@dmoney06
You're right, Macs are better for noobs. I don't run anti-virus software and I've never gotten a virus in years. Lucky? Maybe, but the basic windows firewall is enough for my needs. - turdferguson69, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Your mom is better than your sister.
- apzdsx, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4Everyone knows PC is the clear winner. Everything you can do on a Mac you can do on a PC + Gaming, but some people don't game. So for those, it comes down to personal preference.

What is Digg?
