- atomicpoet, on 03/03/2009, -1/+12I always thought EMC were price gougers. Nice to see the federal government agrees.
- jjones20, on 03/04/2009, -0/+10wait, its illegal to gouge people? When are the ISP's and wireless carriers of the world going to be looked into?
- trafficlight, on 03/04/2009, -0/+7What about all of the people who sign the checks? Nobody has the balls to say, "You're charging me how many thousands of dollars for a power cable?"
- flatpyramid3d, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4"Overcharging for IT hardware, software and services" defeats the benefits of advancing technology and services for the common good. When technology and its products become affordable, like ready-made or stock 3d computer graphics, EVERYONE (including the governement vendors and contractors) wins because now everyone can use it!
- AndrewMoyer, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4What do you mean? $250,000 is a little steep for 3TB of disk space?*
/s
I would have done it for half that!
(*I know a company that got that deal not terribly long ago...) - jglenn84, on 03/05/2009, -0/+4Obama's gouging the American people by giving our money to worthless causes like AIG and the DOJ is after EMC for violating the False Claims Act, go figure!
- MassiveTaTas, on 03/04/2009, -1/+5EMC - You can buy better but you can't pay more!
- Wiini, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2Erik,
From your sweet, no catch, honest website:
"The method itself will be absolutely free, and all the resources will you need will be provided."
"You must be able to spend a few bucks with a credit card on some of the needed marketing material, and advertising."
So is everything I need free and provided, or do I need a credit card? I'm good at following directions but I'm a little confused already. Maybe not I'm not the ideal candidate for your philanthropy project. - bigp3rm, on 03/05/2009, -0/+2I like you sir.
- gilxa1226, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2"According to the DOJ, Rille and Roberts charged that EMC submitted false claims to the United States for IT hardware and services on numerous government contracts from the late 1990's to the present."
Replace Republicans with Politicians and we have a winner. This has been going on for quite some time and under both party's watch, both in Congress and in the White House. - ohplease, on 03/05/2009, -0/+2NetApp couldn't make a decent SAN to save their lives, Data ONTAP sucks balls, and they are way overpriced. Been there done that.
- aklu, on 03/04/2009, -4/+6EMC sucks. Their sales people act like they are peddling used cars.
NetApp FTW! - leamanc, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2So true. We got talked into buying a CX200 for a specific implementation...it was "certified" for the project...and I couldn't believe the insane amount we paid for 1.5 TB. And there was always one disk in the array that went out. Thankfully, we had Dell Gold Support to cover it, because the drives themselves were like $2,500 for a 146 GB 15K SCSI with the EMC module.
- jullimood, on 04/13/2009, -0/+1hmm, some different story..
http://softwareservicesuae.wordpress.com/2009/04/1 ... - linagee, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1eBay must gouge too. I saw something on there that was $5 when I could have gotten it at a garage sale for $0.50!
- slickmick, on 03/04/2009, -2/+3The 'Justice Department' alleges it, it must be true.
- ohplease, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1Uh EMC has been gouging since the mid 90's, which is why everyone started switching to Clariion, which EMC then bought and continued with the gouging. Still cheaper than Hitachi (though HDS kicks the ***** out of EMC for SAN performance).
- itbep, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1What does the government not overpay for?
- cis4smack, on 03/05/2009, -1/+1That's so true. LOL
- NegativeDigg, on 03/04/2009, -2/+0It's only been a couple of months and there has been a lot of news about unfair goverment contracts.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 03/04/2009, -6/+1First Bush and now Obama have been throwing billions around like Rip Taylor and his confetti. It is only natural that many will rush in to take advantage of the foolish wastes.
- jmac9, on 03/04/2009, -13/+7Republicans destroyed America.
you don't have to go farther than the facts.
Republicans in the trash can of history is a good day for America
