http://forum.akihabaranews.com/viewtopic.php?p=22108#22108 - xodex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how is it pointless?
- Snyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0HD? That? LOL
- generalleoff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cuz it's a 2.17 inch god damn TV. whats the point in HD being that small? You might as well use SD.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A small HD screen is pointless..
- HiddenForce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here's the point for one of these things: go to a football game, baseball game, basketball game, NASCAR race after the analogue channels go dark and you'll be able to carry one of these HDTV-compatible ("in some cases") TV with you so you can watch the TV coverage like you've been able to do with portable analogue TVs for years. No, it's not going to have the home-theatre feel that an 80" LCD/plasma/DLP HDTV TV does, but it's better than a dark analogue screen, isn't it?
- lollerskates, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Those Japanese do love their TV. Or maybe just the porn, because it seems like there's nothing on Japanese TV anyway.
- oyourmom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0those Japanese need to stop making us Americans look so bad, after all, we invented the recline chair and the computer!
- ArchibaldTuttle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0After googling it, I believe this unit has a QVGA TFT display, which if I understand the format correctly is 240 x 320, which is less then DVD quality let alone HD
- YrUrEadNtHiS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lmao...okay okay...this digg sucks..everyone knows the japanese always create something to make us go "wow" and then saell it to us. Not only that but i have to disagree with maly. who the hell says that japan doesnt create anything to make money? thats ridiculous...the only reason americans dont make them is because for the inventors in japan, they pay workers MUCH MUCH less to make them and bring them here to america. in america they would have to pay them more to create it and patent and all that shyt. Yes of course we can invent it but i kinda think your implying that japanese sit at home and think "today i'm going to invent something impractical" lol come'on now...
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0According to an America guy living in Japan, no matter how small a Japanese home or budget is, they -all- have a huge Plasma TV. He says the ironic part is that everything on Japanese TV sucks.
- shooby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0man...if only America could get more HD channels first of all
- Majin_Raditz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Japan gets all the good ***** first. :(
- Whitey04, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0At least a small HD tv would recieve a digital signal. Anybody ever use a portable TV? The signal sucks.
- donsherio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0YAY GO JAPAN! (OMG lols i think im acutally going there for christmas this year to visit relatives! Its going to be sweet! go around downloading DS games, checking out all the sweet gadgets that theyre getting before us north americans do. HEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHE)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Japan invents a lot of impractical things solely for the sake of being impractical. Americans are too lazy to be impractical unless they feel they can make money in doing so.
- Avisto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0MPEG 4 broadcasts are being trialled in Sydney, Australia which can be picked up with a compatible mobile phone. This seems like a similar system.
- boicraig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Notta de HDTV
no digg. ever. - Kashey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"that things pointless as *****."
generalleoff: Disagreed .. ***** is not pointless - this thing is. - generalleoff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0even if it was HDTV.... that things pointless as *****.
- notkevinrose, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0with a screen that small you'll have to squint to see it, god knows they're squinters!

What is Digg?
