- MAGZine, on 09/11/2008, -0/+4GPUs have always been far more efficient then CPUs, and with the continuing complexity of GUIs, its probably best that all of that work among other work, be offloaded to the GPU. If everything is resident, stuff runs faster, because it's right where it is needed, not located on another part of the machine, with potentially bottlenecking components in between.

- willski, on 09/11/2008, -0/+2I don't think it's a sign that PC gaming is dead, just that Nvidia would rather people spend money on expensive videocards than expensive CPUs.
- richgustavson, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1It's not really that gaming is dead, it's that unless you're playing a game, your GPU is mostly idle. People are just realizing now that this hardware can be utilized for other things.
