- PYREX, on 10/12/2007, -6/+73yay, another overpriced computer..
i think ill spend 1/5 the price and build a machine 80% as fast, tyvm. - Thorox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+49More sad licensing to sell to those of us who still associate some value and fun times with the brand. Sad.
- Nudar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+33Does it come with a 5.25" floppy drive installed?
- MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32andrewsmith1986, it works pretty good on my machine, despite 16 colours:

(Anyway, how come someone born in '86 knows what a C64 is?) - cunion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26I am ex Commodore (C-64, Amiga) fan boy from way back but this whole "buy a nostalgia brand and attach it to some unrelated *****" thing is really not working for me. Commodore has nothing to do with Commodore. Atari is not Atari ... I seems to work at DIGG at least, but my enthusiasm can't be bought that easily...
[although a new Amiga, would get my attention and a do have a C64 emulator on my handheld and my sat decoder box :)] - jonmlm, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28that black one is slick.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22No, but you get a stylish brown keyboard!
- wkdlester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18This is really lame... No matter what the specs of the computers end up being, it is a shame to use the Commodore name for marketing just another 'gaming' pc. Commodore was about so much more than gaming. I spent much more time programming in BASIC on my C64 than I did playing games, and I know I'm not the only one. The Commodore was more than just a game console, which is essentially what the 'new' Commodore seems to want to be. The beauty of Commodore was that they were able to take meager hardware and create fantastic things with it. It wasn't just about throwing a ton of money at an ATX tower with a pretty paint job and calling it a gaming machine.
- Kelmon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Yup, my sentiments exactly. Well, whoopee they've turned into yet another PC manufacturer, how very exciting. I loved my C64 when I was a kid (but purely in the platonic sense, you understand) and it's a shame to see the brand that provided something different now turning to making something that's the same as everyone else. Oh, sorry, I forgot the custom pain job - wooo....
- wizbor, on 10/12/2007, -8/+24Sheesh, PR? hardly. Cant you diggbats tell the diff between PR and passion for a product one is proud to be a part of? No of course not, as you'all think your leet. Not sure? Look below at Starguy2s blatant product post with links and is dugg up? LOL
Disclamer, I'm an old guy, I raised my kids on C64 and I do remember bang'n out basic to make the thing work, so do my kids. I'll be buying one just for nostalgia if nothing else. Oh... maybe his PR post worked on me...ya think.... sheesh...... diggbats.
ElectroOverlord thanks for the post, its good to be proud of your work, these wanna b leet diggbats are jealous. - Kingconsulting, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16No "dude" Pitfall was on Commodore also.

are you kidding me? who does that? - jhuebel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Whether or not ElectroOverlord works for Commodore Gaming, I appreciate his comments. You know guys, when someone from a company is excited about their product, shouldn't they share that excitement? Additionally, Commodore Gaming has taken a beating on digg since the original announcement. Isn't it fair for someone from Commodore Gaming to have the opportunity to offer a positive viewpoint?
They're obviously proud of their product. Are diggers just hell-bent on making Commodore Gaming fail? I, for one, would like to see an alternative to Alienware in the high-end gaming market. - strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I know everyone is trying to cast ElectroOverlord as an astroturfer, but it really just seems like he's a C64 fanboy.
I mean, it's not like this is a brand new user account:
http://digg.com/users/ElectroOverlord/news/dugg - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12nobody tell them about the IMG tag, it's a secret.
- BamaStangGuy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12"Hell, it might even run Crysis."
lol that was pretty funny. - tmach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11They'll probably be overpriced as hell, but I would LOVE to just have one of those slick black or marbled cases to build my own PC in. Wow.
- Jeeum, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13"Indeed, each machine is uniquely painted and customized to the customer’s desire"
Except for the big ugly blacked out Commodore logo right in the middle? - barthosch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11?FORMULA TOO COMPLEX ERROR IN 38291
READY.
# - SteveMax, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Great specs. The paintings are ugly as hell, though. I still had a small hope they'd pay some homage to the Amiga...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Erm. I prefer taking the exact spec, building it myself, and spending the change on a significantly bigger monitor.
- diggfinity, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11PRESS PLAY ON TAPE
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9// Learned programming on a C64
// Still have it on my desk as well
// Unfortunately most of my early programs where similar to:
10 PRINT "I AM AWESOME"
20 POKE 53280,4
30 POKE 53281,9
40 POKE 53280,2
50 POKE 53281,8
60 POKE 53280,11
70 POKE 53281,5
80 GOTO 10
But whatever... I was like 5. - airship, on 10/12/2007, -1/+91. Buy "Commodore" branded overpriced PC with huge C= logo on the side.
2. Install Commodore 64 emulator.
3. Grab C64 game files from Scandinavian pirate sites.
4. Plug in retro Atari Joystick hacked for USB.
5. IT'S 1985 AGAIN, BAY_BEE!!! YEAH!!!
OR
1. Buy CDTV gaming joystick for $12. - NeoCortex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9This would be great to get with a 64-bit processor. Just so you can so you played Half-Life 2 on a Commodore 64.
- kristov, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Your gonna buy one for nostalgia? How about you draw your own C=64 logo on a piece of paper and just hang it on your wall because thats about what these are worth.
A modern "pc" running Microsoft Windows with a Commodore name on it is just plain stupid - has nothing to do with what the C=64 was. - pbrooks100, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Whats next, an eMachines computer with a VIC-20 logo?
- spyrochaete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7No, you just need to pass The Difference Between Games and Computers 101
- diggfinity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7FYI, site launched @

CXX: "Preloaded with a C64 emulator, containing more than 50 classic games"
Smart. Me likey. - Cornloaf, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I'm also disgusted that the Commodore name is being used like this. The first time I ever had cybersex was on my Commodore 64. Nevermind that I found out later it was some 25 year old guy accessing my Ivory BBS as a HOT 15 year old girl. I have the 2 bit photos to prove it...
- deuceswilde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah, I'm wondering if they have some sort of graphics printer that works on computer cases because other than that there was nothing special aesthetically about them, and while some of the graphics are pretty cool I'd have a hard time buying an enormous advertisement to keep around as my main computer.
- avasol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6LOAD "IMPOSSIBLEMISSION", 8, 1
Stay a while. Stay FOOOREEEEEVEEER. - eatmorgnome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Then proceed to jump in a pit 1000 times just to hear the guy scream
- brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Some of those paint jobs remind me of those airbrushed heavy metal vans from the 70's.
- yanikleo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Bala Keilman, chief executive of Commodore Gaming, said: "It feels like the right time to bring back the Commodore brand."
What you need to bring back is the AMIGA, period. The best multimedia platform ever. This time get the marketing right though.
(owner of an Amiga 4000/600/500/CD32) - Matt2k, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10I love Commodore's, I grew up hacking them and Atari 800's, but the author need's to learn when, and how, to use apostrophe's. Doesn't that bug anyone else? BECAUSE IT DRIVES ME INSANE. I'm tightly wound, I guess.
- GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Does it flash multi coloured lines all over the screen and make a funny screeching sound when it loads. Otherwise I'm not interested. Also, where's the tape deck damn it.
It would be cool if they pre loaded C64 and Amiga emulators and set up a system where you could buy stacks of old games for 50p each over the web. Obviously the machine would be a waste for just that but it would be something extra.
Obviously I'd like to see them push a gaming platform of their own as well rather than simply rally around what MS have done. If they can maintain and push an API in competition with DirectX then it might start getting interesting. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6What picture? All I see is a stupid looking box painted with stuff only a 10 year old can appreciate.
- Zzzzz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This is just a another sad day for Commodore!
- benbtg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Do you get a Guru Mediation instead of a Blue Screen Of Death when it crashes!
- theWaterboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Now that I have all the specs:
//-- quote//
Intel CoreT2 Extreme quad-core processor, an Asus P5N32-E nForce 680i SLI motherboard, two 150 GB 10,000 RPM SATA drives in RAID 0, with a spare 500GB 7,200 RPM SATA drive, 4GB (2 x 2048) Corsair Dominator memory at 1066 MHz, two nVidia 8800 GTX videocards, a Creatve Labs X-Fi, and Windows Vista Ultimate installed
//-- end quote//
I will be able to just order all the top-end parts, and build the system myself for half the price. The only thing missing would be a cool, custom paint job. But I'll just draw on it with a Sharpy :/ - OwdenBowden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Dugg for Vic 20 Days
- graemee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Where does the FASTLOAD cartridge plug in?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6So, how is this any different from VoodooPC or Falcon-NW? Overpriced computers for people to rich to care, or too lazy to do it themselves for 1/3 the price.
I don't include Alienware because they were always for the rich dumb kids who didn't know jack about computers, and now, since they're owned by dell, they're even more worthless. - diggfinity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If you want to get technical, the Cxx model is actually a C-4096000.
- MonkeyFit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If you look closely enough, it's actually mesh with a fan sitting right inside.
