My dad has a 2005 xB and he loves it. There's a ton of interior room, has all the options he wanted, gets amazing gas mileage, and cost under $20,000. You can knock it for its looks, but they're actually useful vehicles.

it doesn't look like everything else out there - a very unique design. it fits in the compact parking spots very nicely yet has more head / leg room than most cars i've seen. 30 mpg isn't too bad for a fuel only car. my only comment about the new xB is that it's going in the direction of the Toyota FJ Cruiser - not a bad thing, just interesting. - xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Hey, guess what! - bassfanatik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I am in the "target demographic" for Scion, and I think they make decent cars for the money for people my age just getting started. The tC is pretty cool looking, and the xB is just different. The xB just reminds me of a Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix. These new body styles are horrible looking, especially the "new" xB. There is no back window? Looks like a small, puny version of the FJ Cruiser. Stick with what you have, Toyota, you're doing fine!

That new xB is gonna be a really nice car for the price, if it stays the same ($15k), even if it looks like crap. There's more of these people running around in Scions than Caprices now. People gloat about how no one has them, but I see them all the time (vertical-opening doors and all). I have an '03 Celica, and I've seen maybe two or three of them since I've owned it, and I park at a public university.

I think going in this more "traditional" direction is going to hurt the Scion brand a lot. I know that it hit an older audience than they intended to but, at least here in Los Angeles, it's still popular with young people and this can only bring it down.

What are they thinking? I never want to look through my steering wheel to see how fast I'm going again! They've gone and ruined a good thing. For shame.

I'm not enthralled at all by anything Ford, Pontiac but I definitely don't bash it (although I will if you drive a Cavalier or Neon.) I guess all that matters is if you like your car or not. I could do without the xD and the xA but I do like the FJ Cruiser. I'm just fed up with anything state-side—reliability, fuel economy, style—they are trying to catch up to imports and it's ridiculous.
