- MacEnvy, on 12/16/2007, -1/+14Hey, I remember BookIt. That was that Pizza Hut deal we did in elementary school where you'd get a free personal pan pizza after reading a certain number of books.
Does anyone else remember having that program at their school? I thought it was pretty sweet at the time. - DocHoliday22, on 12/16/2007, -1/+13We need more ways of bookmarking with Firefox. The current 4000 methods are still insufficient.
- dose, on 12/16/2007, -0/+7Wow I came in here just to post about this! I remember you got those buttons with the stars on them. When you read a book or something you got a sticker and when the button was filled up you got a free personal pan pizza. I got so many of those pizzas!

- Ludwig, on 12/16/2007, -0/+4I still think of the Book-IT program every time I get one of those delicious little pizzas.

- forcedfx, on 12/16/2007, -0/+3I think the BookIt program is still going. The Pizza Hut by me advertises it. I remember how sweet it was get my personal pan pizza. I love Pizza Hut pan pizza.
- tolbs, on 12/16/2007, -0/+2My god! Thank you for revealing parts of my childhood I could not recall in any other way. I remember this program, it actually got me into reading as a kid. I'm surprised they aren't doing this today, nothing says coercion like a hot slice of pie!
- Mononuclear, on 12/16/2007, -0/+1I read so many books as a kid just to get those pizzas. I don't think I would be as literate as I am today if it weren't for the BookIt program.

What a sweet deal we had. - inactive, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1YES! Del.icio.us is great, is the number one but:
1. Don't show the preview (only in first page)
2. It's general, not dedicated to Electronics Engineers - inactive, on 12/16/2007, -0/+1I find this story interesting.
- tavisjohn, on 12/16/2007, -0/+1Sadly I doubt that program would happen today without some parrents group claiing that it was making oru kids fat! I remember all sorts of places offering fancy deals for reading lots of books, good grades on report cards... Free food, free movie/game rentals... Sadly they have mostly gone away... Nitpicked to death.
- tolbs, on 12/16/2007, -0/+1From the Website:
"The BOOK IT! Program is offered to children in grades kindergarten through six via the school they attend."
Ahh snap! I was hoping for some more free pizzas :(. - DaTaylorM, on 12/16/2007, -0/+1BookIT was an awesome program. I read countless books as a child because of it. When you look at it from a marketing prospective it was genius too. The rest of the family usually would order when the kid got their free pizza. Its sad that programs like this don't exist today because it requires a little bit of extra involvement from parents and teachers. And like tavisjohn said I'm sure the busy body brigade would show up to whine about it.
