- cmister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Fantastic videos! My favorite is Legally Bound. I love that Babyland track that goes with it. The quality here is amazing. I see that "Interchangeability" has over 60,000 views on YouTube - wow!
- tsunamisteve, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Aaaa my eyes!!! I just looked at someone else's intellectual property without paying!
- ravitek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Quick! Get the eye bleach!
- atari, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1they're all cc licensed. so look away!
- readme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15DRM is like throwing the entire city in prision because crime stats are up 10% since last year.
- nikkesen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Pure overkill, and a great way to drive away a potential market.
- lbdwag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2some of those were pretty sweet. I could only imagine how some of the entrants looked.
- Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2gg to the morons for DRM..they probably download or view copyright images every day.
- clame, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To be fair, those videos /are/ copyrighted. Copyright doesn't have to be bad, though.
- bbeahm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Great work!
I really liked the one that went from records players throught the years and stopped at the computer.
Some of those should be on TV. Too bad the major corporations that own TV also like DRM.- Skeuomorph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I couldn't understand why the records wouldn't fit in the tape player and the tapes wouldn't fit in the CD tray.
- netferret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well thanks to DRM I lost my tunes, so I just downloaded them in good old MP3. I wonder if thats technically legal?
- nogoodreason, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Technically, no.
Morally, yes.
Unfortunately the law is no longer based on morality. - Altotus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Laws aren't based on morality, nor should they be. At it's best, the law is based on practicality and equality (making the system "fair" but also "functional"). At it's worst, the law is simply a license to be unfair.
Morality and the law ought not mix. Moral standards vary too much to make for practical law, and are highly variable from person to person. In a democratic republic, though, the law shouldn't be based on morality because doing so necessarily puts the state in the position of dictating the morals and values of the individual. That's bad. Who can honestly say that can (or want to) rely on their government for moral guidance? How many people trust that their legislators have moral fiber that so exceeds that of the whole society that they'd rather abdicate their own convictions for those of the legislature? The fact is that governments make awful moral authorities, and historically people develop deep resentments towards governments that attempt to assert themselves as the ultimate moral authority.
The law should not strive to define or impose morality, or be confused as being some sort of moral guide. The law should aim to define the line where the will of one party must cede to that of another so as to maximally but equally enable people to lead fulfilling, happy, and independent lives according to their own conscience and to the extent that doing so doesn't impinge on another's ability to do the same.
Just my twenty millibucks. - netferret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is alll good an well, but where is my legal music, ow sorry maybe its lost in the ether. Maybe my money is too, but probably not :D
- nogoodreason, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Technically, no.
- fascfoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The interchangeability ad is by far the best I think.
- diggAddict, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5
( Itunes purchased music + Ipod ) = Defective by Design
Its a pity so few people realise it, hopefully this will wake them up and realise!- vanillagamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's a pity so few people realize how easy it is to get around that kind of DRM.
- unitethenations, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think that the trusted computing video was well made.
- Skeuomorph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This one was certainly the most persuasively accurate, with the exception of the believe/belief typo. Most of the others are illogical or irrational.

- synasius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very Very beautiful videos... i hate DRM but when try to explain to my friends with few words not all of them can understand what I'm talking about.. But images can be simpler and meaningful for many of them... thanks to those people who have realized the videos..
(hope you understand my English) - NerveBand, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, those were amazing. Never beleived that DefectiveByDesign.org could cause such a revolutions. I have some money, can I donate it to put those on TV. Because that would be the best thing ever.
- astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Be the Disturbed.... or Richard Cheese version, the DRM is the sickness, and society will
be coming down with the sickness if we keep purchasing DRM media. - penwen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TCPA, when did this happen???
Has it already been implemented in any computers?? - popapiska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very useful. This makes me smile.
- godnews, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0It's very nice
