Please no comments about the referrer. - Jonsey, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3You know dugg mirror checks the referrer right?
Kidding..... - dotuplink, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1aww.. where is all the creativity in manuals?
- Mattman1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Having the instructions is great, but what about all of the pieces I lost under the sofa?
- pronto, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1@Jonsey
If you use the rss, that doesn't work.
- behindcurtain3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+42Wow, brings back the memories of growing up
- MonkeyFit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Yeah, early to mid-90s legos were the best sets ever. They started going downhill, but their recent creator series seems to be back on the ball. Now they just need to be making all of their series with unspecialized pieces. Those are what's killing lego.
- GamingNews, on 10/12/2007, -23/+4I'm not really sure why this is in the hardware section, but it's a neat site. Now if only I had a box of legos.
- EbenieRosa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30Well, it's not exactly software?
My old Computer teacher used to say Hardware is "Anything you can kick" while crude, you can indeed kick a pile of Legos :)
- EbenieRosa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30Well, it's not exactly software?
- tim7423, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Yep I found the first "expert" set I had from 78' man made me feel old
- foobar5892, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12'78
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -5/+978 inch tall men never gave me legos :(
- foobar5892, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7' = foot, " = inch. FYI.
- JavertHolmes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+62Don't care about PS3 versus X-box. Don't care about Emacs versus vi. I don't care about Linux versus Windows. I don't care about wine versus beer, but I am a LEGO zealot through and through. I feel like any kid who hasn't put together a few LEGO sets growing up has had their brain atrophied in some subtle way. What an awesome compilation.
- tagawa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Agreed. Our young child has recently discovered Lego. It's now as though nothing else exists in the world, even TV! We are amazed at how he can express his creativity. The only downside is his nails are getting ripped to shreds as he tries to separate the tiny blocks. That's something we all have to go through, son. You're not a man if haven't had Lego-builder nails. It's worth it in the end.
- curios, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The enthusiasm comes straight back to me.
Technique Lego rocks.
I'm buying myself a present for christmas.- Rikka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To this day, I'm thankful my parents never bought me knex. it was Lego all the way.
- VeryAngryJim, on 10/12/2007, -26/+5We need the instructions for Knex as well.
- Naga10, on 10/12/2007, -6/+22Eww, no. Knex sucked. I never liked them. I was an all Legos kid.
- schadenfreude56, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23I hated Knex because they always hurt my hands...And they weren't nearly as realistic looking.
- steven401, on 10/12/2007, -16/+4Knex pwned.
- cyroxos, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Why is Knex being dugged down, I rather enjoyed Knex myself. I spent many days making little compound bow guns that would shoot out one of the Knex shafts... those were the days.
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5the only thing good about Knex were the roller coasters and such
- Isolation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I actually remember specifically drooling over 1/8 of these sets, mostly between 1990 and 1998. Thanks.. great find.
I know I have about that many of them in a massive bin in the garage, as well. - digmc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Oh the fond memories box set #241 brings. I must have been 5 or 6 years old (so that would be 1971 or '72) and remember building it with my dad on Christmas day at my Grandma's house. sigh!
- reetix, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12Why do people call it "Legos"?
- landintrees, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I think they sometimes call it "Legos" in the States. At least, I used to argue with an American friend about it. I called it "Lego", she called it "Legos".
- GeneralFailure0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17We refer to each individual piece as a 'Lego brick'. Since you're usually playing with a bunch of them, we call them 'Legos'.
- Becky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Not entirely sure why you're getting dugg down for asking that since it's a good question. I'd never heard the term "Legos" until an American friend used it. Over here in the UK the plural is Lego with induvidual bricks being referred to as pieces of Lego, I can't speak for the rest of europe though. IMHO both are acceptable.
- matman730, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7AND if the bricks aren't made by the Lego company, they're not Legos (something I understood even when I was 6.)
- trylleklovn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The danish company, Lego, produces them, and the product name is Lego.
The name is originally a combined word of the two danish words, "Leg" (which is play in danish), and "Godt" (Which is the word "well"). Then you get: "Play Well".
The word, however, also means "put together" in Latin, although this was not known when the name was invented. - CitizenKamb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4The Facts:
From: Company Profile 2006: An introduction to the LEGO® Group:
"Help us to protect our brand name:
The LEGO brand name should always be written in capital letters.
LEGO must never be used as a generic term or in the plural or as a possessive pronoun, e.g. “LEGO’s”.
When the LEGO brand name is used as part of a noun, it must never appear on its own. It should always be accompanied by a noun. For example, LEGO set, LEGO products, LEGO Group, LEGO play materials, LEGO bricks, LEGO universe, etc.
The first time the LEGO trademark appears it should be accompanied by the registration symbol ®."

This is America, we do what we want. Over here it's Legos.
- tropican8, on 10/12/2007, -13/+1I thought it was going to be a *nix instruction manual...
- Damaos, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22Wrong spot digg me down.
- Orangutan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4http://duggmirror.com
- justinjacobs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Duggmirror doesn't even seem to be working. I love this resource though:
http://www.peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/scans/?ct=1 - carpespasm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1thank you justin, peeron looks like a much better resource anyway, you totally kick ass.
- Anrkist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'd like to see a kid try and navigate that site!
- justinjacobs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Duggmirror doesn't even seem to be working. I love this resource though:
- Fluidity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Very cool! I actually much prefered designing and making my own things with lego and didn't often build using these instructions but it's very cool to have them all to look at. I still want the lego top gear set though! http://www.topgear.com/content/news/stories/1430/
- mt066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Damn, wish i knew what year i got that kick ass spaceship.
- Louis11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The bigg ass alien saucer? :-)
- nikoniko, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Bah. Everyone knows it was more fun trying to build the things that were pictured on the back of the box -- the ones that never came with instructions to begin with.
- sgu222e, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think it's time to dig the old collection out of storage...
- steve693, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Childhood nostalgia overload!!
- jnosanov, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Kinex blows. Go lego go. Long live Lego.
- HawkW, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Agreed!
- Shivalyn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Aside from the crappy load times, pretty cool site.
- zioxide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3woo lego
- driftless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This thing worked like a charm. Had a set that we lost the instructions for.
If you want faster times, go to his homepage and browse using FTP. As long as you know the model number, you're OK. - rh387, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7as soon as i saw legos, i knew this site would be down quickly
- sgtkillmore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I already saved all the instructions for my sets. Now with so many pieces the trick is to see if you have the parts to build some other set that you always wanted.
- mt066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Galactic Mediator FTW!! http://www.hccamsterdam.nl/brickfactory/scans/06000/6984/001.jpg
Can't believe I found that! That thing was so cool. And big.- pmuaddib, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OMG, I had that too. The childhood memories are flooding back in. I remember that I would eventually dismantle everything then sort it into colors and shapes so that I could build something grander. Sometimes I would spend half a day locked up in my room just building.
- mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i always wanted the big castle, but every year my parents wouldnt buy it for me for xmas... damn you mom & dad, this is why im such a ***** up person today...
- zanthrax, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That site isn't complete by far, Peeron.com is more complete. Except for the fact that Peeron has an agreement with the Lego Company not to publish instructions for
- statikuz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm not sure they have any agreement at all with Lego:
LEGO© is a trademark of The LEGO Company which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site. - M2Ys4U, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it should be ® not ©
- statikuz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm not sure they have any agreement at all with Lego:
- aznrevlazn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1awww, no lego teknics?
- BartS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes there are...
- lolwtfhaha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21987 Invader. Totally awesome ship, it came apart so you could drop the module onto a planet, it opens up and a little robot comes out to, well, invade the planet. Still have those funky black triangle logo pieces..
http://www.hccamsterdam.nl/brickfactory/scans/06000/6984/001.jpg - Zlatty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Peeron is so much better ( http://www.peeron.com/ )
For example: http://www.peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/scans/8880-1/?ct=1
Lugnet is still god when it comes to legos...
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8880- jirout, on 03/17/2008, -0/+0Some building instruction ca be found at http://www.legoat.com
- mattyg333, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0"Don't care about PS3 versus X-box. Don't care about Emacs versus vi. I don't care about Linux versus Windows. Hell no! It's all about K'nex! - brainwashed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2woah, what a blast from the past, excellent find.
- Dmaulchris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2 23159 page views today
- mookiemookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, that just brings back so many memories. I loved the spring loaded cannons in the pirate sets that shot the little black pieces.
Ahh....life was so much simpler then. - deehaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lego, so many good memories.
- zapa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh my god, this is some nostalgy here. I had so many legos. Middle age legos were my favorite.
- rovertly, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1you guys are like so nerdy. i mean like totally nerdy. who plays with legos??
- danielman94, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The nerdy one is the one who goes and comment on something he doesn't like. Legos are fun. What is wrong with being creative? Not "cool" enough for you?
- stalky14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1CARL
I don't need no instructions to know how to "BLOCK"!
/CARL - apyoung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4had it
had it
want it
had it
still want it
still have it
had it.... - musntSurfatWork, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0shouldn't the all set build guides be on the official Lego site??
Seriously, the '75-'85 era was a good time to be alive in Legoland...
I still remember hugging my dad for that lego set that contained a black astronaut gun. Or that time my dad divorced my mom for buying me that Moon Lander set...
good times.
Why does anyone need instructions to build the 1990+ , 3 piece sets? - Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11989, box 6274: Caribbean Clipper. that was a sweet boat, i might have to go dig out the legos
- ovni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, that one sure brings back memories. I remember finding the clipper in my parents' closet a few days before I got it from "Santa"...
Man, those were the days, back when the toy canons actually did something!
- ovni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, that one sure brings back memories. I remember finding the clipper in my parents' closet a few days before I got it from "Santa"...
- Anrkist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1As cool as this is, am I the only one who hasn't seen a single instruction?
- ovni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is perhaps one of the greatest things I have ever seen on digg. Thanks!
- PDave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone else have the 1981 (#6929) Starfleet Voyager? That set rocked.
- rerun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I did! ...but the Galaxy Explorer (1979) stayed my favorite - you really can't beat that name.
- Rikushix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice link...but Lugnet and Peeron are so much better. Been around for ages and I've built all my old lego sets from when i was a kid off Lugnet.
- Rikushix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On the other hand this has them all in one place :) Something the others don't have.
- AngryRepublican, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21989, The Black Sea Barracuda, Box No. 6285... I got that for christmas when I was 4 and built it every year for 10 years.
And the Mega Core Megnetizer! I had one of those!! Memories...
This was the greatest link EVER. Thank you sooooo much. - jerryparid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Found 3/4 sets that I owned.
Didn't find a Star War Clone Trooper Set that I bought for 299 franks in Belgium around 1999(ish). - pepsiholic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Totally Awesome, Think I found every lego set I ever had... :-)
- ersatzphi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1LEGO TECHNIC FTW! I didn't find the space shuttle one, that had to be the most badass technic model of all time.
- LiquidPenguin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This doesn't look like it has every box. Pretty damn close. I have a box from my youth that I didn't see there. The box itself didn't really survive (my mother being a strong believer in saving space) but I did salvage the cover which has the number. I'll have to look it up.
Still, this has made my day. There was another, similar, site that was striving to do the same thing, but they were having a hard time getting everything it seems. This site has #8888 (1980 Page #2). I found this book, torn and damaged in the corner of a store one christmas and picked it up. I spent hours trying to find kits with all the pieces I needed to build anything in here. About the farthest I ever got was building the dog. Then the book disappeared around 1996 and I've missed it ever since. :(
Seeing this book here makes me so happy. My Girlfriend has a six year old and I'm itching to introduce her to Lego like I was. -
