- machx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Here I was expecting to see the Drinkbot ( http://www.tikibartv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=10 ) :(
- GreenSlabOfClay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0It can serve beer, but will it give my buddy a ...?
*sigh*
never mind - DarkSideofMoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Dang... think I got another hack that Kevin Rose can take on...
Mod ROB the Nintendo Robot to serve us drinks, like Drinkbot.

God knows that Diggnation could be a wee bit more efficient if Kevin and Alex had beers served to them. - EyeDye, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0http://www.aibar.com
- Midnightbrewer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I *do* live in that oh-so-innovative country. No wonder I feel so content. :D
- ionix18, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I live here too but I did not hear of the promotion and asahibeer.co.jp doesn't seem to have info on it.
- chemman14, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0this thing looks awesome i want one haha
- shitfish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0the essence of evolution
- caldroun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Beer! Robots! I can digg that.
- gator99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0First they pour our beer, next thing you know we'll be in embryonic pods living out virtual reality lives. It's a conspiracy.
- guyincognito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This reminds me of the game Tapper!
- sharedferret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This looks very beer.

Nice try though. - lnfalandino, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I must have one of these.
- CLIFFosakaJAPAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I live in Japan and you can bet that I'll up the Beer Consumption to get all those stickers. If I win it, I may donate it to the Diggnation show..........or not ; )
- nanboya, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0And so starts the race for the annual Japanese beer manufacturers' summer campaigns. Every year, the promotions get bigger and better (branded bar fridges, mini-taps to pump from the multi-liter mini kegs, etc.)
I miss the commercialization in Japan sometimes... - diggdeeznutz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0What good is a beer pouring robot if YOU HAVE TO OPEN THE CAN FOR THE ROBOT!!!
No Digg. - BritOverseas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Worked in Japan for a year, loved all the gadgets, don't drink much beer (unless it is Irish Cream Ale), will stick to my Bourbon, but I can see why people would love this.
6 cans though? Maybe needs to be a bit bigger?
Digg - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I'd prefer a blunt rolling robot. Sorry, just cannot respect anything to do with alcohol. A stupid drug with way to many consequences. No digg.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i responce to diggdeeznutz mutterings
"What good is a beer pouring robot if YOU HAVE TO OPEN THE CAN FOR THE ROBOT!!!
No Digg."
UM it opens the cans.. probably have to line them up but it opens them.
"upon the press of a button, the machine will open up a can, and pour in into the mug with a perfect head every time."
our trade deficiet with japan will skyrocket when these hit the market....
it's hard to believe but in five minutes i went from not knowing this even existed to absolutly needing one. - sabbac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0dammit, wish i could edit.
- Tagg3rX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Oh yes!
not only does it serve beer but it gives perfect head.

- koheed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. It's like someone hijacked my brainwaves.
- lordelric, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This has got to be the best idea for a robot ever.
- chemman14, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i hope thes will be available for purchase
- avonej, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0@ otte316
Glad to see sane people exist in the world. - DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Innovative? I know you're kidding, but if this came out in America, we'd be called lazy.
- GarfiBlue, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Sooooooooooooooo Cute!
- grayBot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Please Please...I need this in my life....someone help me out here....! I ve been searching all over the net...how can I buy this beer over the net!?!?!
To those living in Japan I beg you sell me overpriced beer if you can honestly guruantee me that I'll have one of these suckers....
either that or get one yourself and we can negotiate a price... im serious..and pathetic...hehehe - thingsimade, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I too live in Japan and it's really not as good as it sounds.
Firstly, once you collect the 36 stickers, you only go into a draw so there's still an enormous chance you wont get a beerbot.
Secondly, the "beer" in question is not actually beer. All of the products with stickers on them for this prize are actually “Happoshu” which is a lot like beer, but not actually beer.
Though there are a lot of rumours about why this stuff is even produced, I'm told that it's because they don't have to pay the taxes associated with selling beer if the product doesn't actually mention the word "beer" on its label, which it doesn't.
Yongfook has an interesting story about “Happoshu” if you'd like to know more:
http://www.yongfook.com/2005/03/16/unbeer/ - primus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0is there a manufacturer of the robot? My company is a importing and licensing company who have currently big licensing deals with Australian beer manufacturers and are very keen to get this into the Australian market.... I know there would be many thirsty Australians who would love this!
- jonnyx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i can't wait for these to make a killing on ebay.
- JesseJ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0get a tap
- sirplus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0now this is useful technology! berp..
- Cab00se, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0ummm...americans are ALREADY Lazy
- Baloo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0It says it pours a perfect head... now I lived in Japan for many years and I know they like a bigger head on their beer than most other beer drinking cultures....
Therefore it would have to be adjustable to be a perfect bot... but I still love it
Digg - overbyte, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0i
