- stone2020, on 06/05/2008, -3/+29Long battery life, Awesome DirectX 10 Integrated Graphics Chip, External Video Cards, Hybrid CrossfireX, PowerXpress. Thanks for innovating AMD. Welcome Back.
- legoalert33, on 06/05/2008, -1/+17Didn't I tell you to stop making up animals?
- inactive, on 06/05/2008, -3/+18Long live AMD
- nirvanix, on 06/05/2008, -1/+15If it delivers on the promised performance it will be a success - full 1080p playback with very little power usage (and noise and heat). That's what I want in my living room.

- MattFid, on 06/05/2008, -1/+8I hope they come in cool ranch.
- stone2020, on 06/05/2008, -0/+6clams? mmmm....clams.
- DrivinWest, on 06/05/2008, -0/+6Duh.
- LordPhilMil, on 06/05/2008, -0/+6Hey, don't let your fiery Latin temper get out of control.
- Andyschism, on 06/05/2008, -0/+5Eagerly awaiting AMD's new "Liger" chip line.
- 1337jared, on 06/05/2008, -1/+6When shopping for boxes, I usually look for boxes that are 1) sturdy/reliable at holding things 2) the correct size 3) lightweight - those are the things that make boxes good, and 'low cost' is always a bonus.
- edwartica, on 06/05/2008, -0/+5glab - to eat for several hours, stopping only to breathe and ingest liquids.
- fremeer, on 06/05/2008, -0/+4Simmons, i want you to poison Griff's next meal
- FearFactory, on 06/05/2008, -2/+6Nice maybe Intel will release a Cougar chip in the future
- dokeshi, on 06/05/2008, -0/+4"It's not a puma"
- FireSlash, on 06/05/2008, -1/+4More interesting results from the AMD/ATI merger it seems. This could be very good. *patiently awaits some reviews*
- edwartica, on 06/05/2008, -0/+3You think your commodore 64 is really neato - what kind of chip you got in there? A Dorito?
- stone2020, on 06/05/2008, -0/+3Hopefully its a Quad Core Demi Moore.
- gn0stik, on 06/05/2008, -0/+3glab on some clams. mmmm clams.
- stone2020, on 06/05/2008, -0/+3Tech Report is usually the best for information.
http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/14858 - scottm2031, on 06/05/2008, -0/+3I'm glab AMD is giving intel some some fight on the mobile foot race. I have recently switched to AMD, mostly because the price is always much better for the performance i am looking for.
- somedirtbag, on 06/05/2008, -0/+3And chips.
- SteveMax, on 06/05/2008, -0/+2Ok... So does anyone have a link with full technical information, description of the microarchitecture, power saving measures, die size, expected yield per wafer, expected chip prices, and everything we actually want to know when a new processor is launched?
- blackjack75, on 06/06/2008, -0/+2Poor men build both of these.
- leerayIG88, on 06/05/2008, -0/+2clams live under the sea.
- Arramol, on 06/05/2008, -0/+2Actually, Apple's already trademarked "Liger" for the next version of OS X.
- wannapiece, on 06/05/2008, -1/+2Ok, great this article covers it all... the specs, the features, and the design... oh wait.. it didnt cover that... which is all I wanted to know... The headline could have read "AMD Releases.... *Insert CPU here*... and then the story could have elaborated the *Insert CPU here* instead of bore the living ***** out of me and make me have to go to another site to find the specs for the *Insert CPU Here*
- gn0stik, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1Clams baseted in evidence. Steamy hot evidence.
drool. - LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1Not true. AMD lost to Intel in the current multi-core CPU Wars well before buying ATI. The purchase of ATI and the investment in new technology is AMD's attempt to get back into the game. Unfortunately, Intel knows exactly what AMD is doing and will be releasing competitive technology to this announcement at least 12-18 months AHEAD of when AMD will get to market.
I'm glad AMD is still trying and I think that is good for all of us, but they screwed up BIG TIME and it will take many years before they get another shot at the title. - gellfex, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1Yup, it sounds like a great HTPC platform. Up to now trying to make a silent PC has been expensive and labor intensive. Hopefully the motherboard designers will waste no time producing enthusiast boards for custom builders.
- BobMysterioso, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1the 690G platform is pretty good. I have 2 of them, one in htpc and on in a desktop. Really just bought the second so I could easily use my image for quick deployment.
That said the lack of onboard VC1 decoding and somewhat anemic onboard gpu was only a decent early AMD/ATI merger. The 789G is much better. - Farik, on 06/05/2008, -1/+2Is this not what any chip manufactured today would try to achieve?
- DestroyFascism, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1Would that be better than the Costanza?
- Noodleson, on 06/05/2008, -1/+2AMD dropped a couple billion on ATI and shifted all of it's resources to Fusion. That's the only reason Intel has been dominating the market lately, when 09/10 comes around, it will be a very different story.
- Aeron, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1"I think $200 is better, therefor it should be"
- tnoy, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1Yeah, its much better when a faceless corporation that is only out for your money is doing better than the other faceless corporation that is only out for your money.
- SteveMax, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1Thanks, forgot to check them out.
- DestroyFascism, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1Shoes n *****...
- mythicflux, on 06/05/2008, -1/+2Like Intel was too little to late with the Core 2 processor? I recall it was the Pentium M (as in mobile) that started Intel back on track to hit AMD hard after the fiasco that was the Pentium 4 (NetBurst).
Competition and R&D takes time. - gn0stik, on 06/05/2008, -1/+2Here is hoping these 'jeans' garments are 1) able to cover my man parts 2) keep my man parts and legs warm 3)fit the lower half of my body comfortably. - Those are the things you need for lower body garments, including shorts, and 'low cost' is always a bonus.
- sonnysavage, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1I have nothing against Intel, I love their current innovations. But I agree with you because Intel's recent innovations where spurred on by AMD's past success. Competition is good for me, they guy who want's better computers.
- stone2020, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1So what does Intel have to compete with Fusion? They are still struggling to make a decent video card. Larrabee is rumored to launch at 300W TDP. Doesn't sound way ahead to me.
- apackofmonkeys, on 06/05/2008, -0/+0Shoot, THAT'S what they look for in CPUs? No wonder those interviews with Intel and AMD went so badly for me.
- Ramble, on 06/05/2008, -3/+2Please, please be quick. I'm sick of Intel winning.
- Dustmuffins, on 06/05/2008, -1/+1In those cravasses?
- Topher06, on 06/06/2008, -1/+1Puma, the poor man's Nike.
- zakatov, on 06/05/2008, -3/+2And based on what evidence do you base these clams? I'm curious.
- americamatrix, on 06/05/2008, -5/+4Intel FTW
- theonlywizdum, on 06/05/2008, -4/+1What in sam-hell is a Puma?
- proverbs17, on 06/05/2008, -5/+1I think the target price range is toooooo high. $700 - $2000? I think $400 - $1500 is better range to shoot for. If I buy a notebook for $2000, it better say Apple on it.....
